1 Invitation
The world is witnessing daily on TV news broadcast the scenes of destruction, anguish and suffering that each individual must face in war time. This experience of persecution is spoken of as the time of trouble that Bible prophecy tells us must precede the second coming of Jesus to rescue God’s people from the end of the world. We need to keep in context the information shared in L2 “Entering into His Rest” that the two world crises that began in February 2020 of C19 pandemic and the current Ukraine war are to be perceived in the framework of Bible prophecy, (Note: L2 par 2 Invitation has provided what is to be attained for God’s people in order to stand in the day of the Lord. D34 is attempting to provide the scene of the time of trouble spoken of in D12 as the people of Mariupol are testifying they are undergoing.) .. Remember Covid-19 is only a precursor to the final conflict in the time of trouble that has never been experienced before. All of God’s faithful children must go through the time of trouble prior to the second coming of Jesus who is almost at the door )
The invasion of Ukraine*1 by Russia on Feb 24, 2022 is an additional providential message to warn the world leaders*1 to correct their ungodly ways in their handling of the C-19 pandemic crisis*1 and also in the trade sanction*1 in the Ukraine war. God knows the events of the future, even before the creation of the world. He did not make His purposes to fit circumstances, but He allowed matters to develop and work out. He did not work to bring about a certain condition of things, but He knew that such a condition would exist. This event is permitted by His goodness and grace that we are able to experience the time of persecution in order that we may be impressed to heed His call to return to God in repentance and to accept Jesus invitation to be yoked with Him and enter into His rest. (Mat 11:28-30) .
(Note: invasion of Ukraine*1 and C-19 pandemic crisis*1 are the cause of the difficult times we expeience since March 2020 . Many people have lost relatives and friends to C-19 Then there is the current unprovoked invasion of Ukraine by the vast military might of Russia on the pretax of demilitarisation and denazification of Ukraine. How tragic it is in this one sided bombardment on the major cities in Ukraine. So many Ukrainians died and are perishing by the wanton bombardments from the Russian armies. Now we learn of the war crimes committed at Bucha. This will not be made public to the Rusian prisis eople because Putin has full control of the Nation’s mass media. God, our loving and know-all Lord of the universe permitted this to happen as the second warning in the midst of C-19 pandemic. Could this be to warn the leaders of the world not to glorify in the mistake*2 in trusting the man-made remedy and undermining the free will to decide in getting jabbed that unless they come to their senses and study the history of Nineveh to know that God sent a special message by Jonah to that wicked city. . . . if the wicked cities would repent as did Nineveh.
Said the king of Nineveh, "Let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands. Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from His fierce anger, that we perish not? And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that He had said that He would do unto them; and He did it not" [Jonah 3:8-10]. {TSB 165.2}
May the words of this passage be conveyed to the conscience of President Putin and the leaders*2 of every nations. May they recognise the faithfulness of President Valenskyy to every citizen of Ukraine as a duty and service for God. The dedication of the Ukraine soldiers who are defending the country and remain faithful unto death is what God desire from each of his creation.

This is corroborated by an even weightier presentation by Prof. J. Mearsheimer who has written extensively about security issues and international politics, publishing numerous journal articles and five books, including the 2011 Why Leaders Lie: The Truth about Lying in International Politics, which has been translated into ten different languages.

He said that it is the U.S foreign policy on Liberal Hegemony (LH) that U.S as leader of the west through EU and NATO is responsible for the Ukraine crisis. The basic goals of Liberal Democracy (LH) are: 1, To remake the world in America’s image (promote liberal democracy across the planet; to make every country a liberal democracy; to make it look like America; 2. To embed every nation especially big nations, Russia and China, in the international economic order being created by the U.S.-U,N., NATO, EU, IMF, WB during the cold war (to be hooked on capitalism and to be interdependent) This in the assessment by Prof Mearsheimer is a colossal failure and the proof was in Donald Trump voted as president for he is against this policy. ( This is liken to Satan’s wanting to be like God.)
The ignorant secular world through the influence of the news media is putting the principal blame on Putin. The U.S in moving the EU eastward with the announcement of Georgia and Ukraine on Russia border as Liberal Democratic bulwarks had fomented the Orange revolution in Ukraine (2014) and the Rose Revolution in Georgia and also threatening to foment a colour revolution in Moscow itself.
The Russians were opposed to NATO expansion in 1999 and 2004 including Poland, Czech Republic and Hungary. The big mistake was made in Bucharest in Apr 2 2008 at NATO Summit that Georgia and Ukraine would become part of NATO. The consequence was war over Georgia, and Feb 2014 war in Ukraine. By so doing they pushed the Russian into the arms of the Chinese and Russia into Ukraine as reaction to Western policies.
The kings and national leaders must know that the sovereign Lord God appoints and disposes of rulers and kings of this world. The worldly leaders must have heard from their huge retinue of highly paid advisors of the testimony of King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon. Babylon the greatest kingdom at that time is no more. King Nebuchadnezzar,a former avid idols worship, before whom Daniel so often honoured the name of God, was finally thoroughly converted, and learned to "praise and extol and honour the King of heaven" (RH Jan. 11, 1906). {4BC 1170.5}
But Let us not let our lives get out of control. Things might not function as we wish. But if we keep our eyes focused on Jesus Christ and if we experience His peace in our mind, in our hearts we will not be bent out of shape we will not lose our faith We will be filled with joy with His peace.
The study of God’s word teaches us what true peace is all about . Many times we allow the circumstances outside of us to rattle our faith and to take away our peace. To overcome this unrest we must daily ask God, the Father, to bring peace , true peace and His grace for us to trust in Him, to all of us who have studied God’s word. We don’t ask for the removal of the turmoil but that the peace of Jesus be experienced during those period. Our hearts ached for the Ukrainians still surviving in Mariiupol who are now in the worst kind of turmoil and we know that Lord, you have a plan for each of them and they will be rewarded accordingly when they have the faith in Jesus. They could be be the eleventh hour workers, like the thief on the cross.
(Note*2 The wrong way*2 by President Biden- In mandating the C-19 vaccination Biden has exercised power over the freedom of conscience which God has sanctified. He is doing what only God can do. He has tested the ground and prevailed for future use in the final battle involving bearing the mark of the beast. God’s warning message in the covid-19 (C-19) pandemic is to alert the world that this is a foretaste of the final time of trouble. Covid -19(C-19) which is Satan’s strategy in conditioning people to accept the corona-virus inoculation and to even practice coercion to achieve the presumed cure. From behind the scene, Satan is using C-19 to soften the world into coercive submission. Thus, when it comes to the real issue of worship Satan is plotting to achieve total acceptance in receiving the mark of the beast to win the great controversy.)
This discovery journal, D34, atempts to firstly highlight the Mariupol humanitarian catastrophe in Ukraine to tell us in advance the plight of the people suffering persecution of the death decree in the worst time of trouble that ever was as revealed in Rev 13:15-17. (There will be comments added within parenthesis in the context of God’s word ) The way to prepare for this event is then shared on the teaching from Jesus.

According to one woman whose parents are trapped in the town, 2,000 vehicles left on Tuesday and about 500 on Wednesday. She has not heard from her parents for four days. The Ukrainian authorities have told those with transport to leave Mariupol, but most of the trapped citizens either do not have cars or their cars have been destroyed by the shelling, three people with relatives inside the city told the Guardian.
“People who managed to hide in underground shelters basically live there permanently,” she said. “They practically cannot leave at all.”
“They’ve abandoned a city of half a million people,” she said. “My mother is 78 and my father is 80, they are sitting in a basement. My sister is with a baby who is just one month old.”
Taking Mariupol, which is 34 miles from Russia’s border, would mark a strategic breakthrough for Vladimir Putin.
The city lies between territory held by Russian-backed separatists in the Donbas region and the Crimean peninsula, which was annexed by Moscow in 2014 and from where it has launched its assault on key southern towns in Ukraine.
Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has abruptly transformed the world. Millions have already fled. A new Iron Curtain is grinding into place. An economic war deepens as the military conflict escalates and civilian casualties rise.

Trapped for weeks in a basement, Olga Anosova thought her apartment block in Mariupol was being specifically targeted.
Almost daily, Russian forces bombarded it with every kind of missile from all sides, stripping the nine storeys above Olga and her family to a shell.
With her husband Alexander, 39, eight-year-old son Kirill and mother Ludmila, 65, the 41-year-old lawyer hid in the freezing shelter, not knowing if the day would be their last. It seems beyond comprehension, she says, but they shared the 540 sq ft room – the equivalent of three and a half car parking spaces – with more than 40 others. There was no room to lie down. They just sat, night after night in -80 C conditions, waiting for the next missile.
(This is the best real life illustration of what it would be like in the prophesied time of trouble stated in Dan 12:1 “And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.”)

Yet she also knows her family are among the lucky ones. They escaped. Some 160,000 others remain under bombardment in the besieged city with no water, heating or electricity.
(This is through God’s grace and blessing that they are the lucky ones. God has a plan mapped out for each one of us who is His creation. Jer 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Jer 29:12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. Jer 29:13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
Through her testimony many may be draw towards God and God is still working on Olga to return to Him in repentance. Like in the case of “Naaman, a heathen nobleman, had been faithful to his convictions of right, and had felt his great need of help. He was in a condition to receive the gifts of God's grace. He was not only cleansed from his leprosy, but blessed with a knowledge of the true God. {DA 239.1} .. more to elaborate in par 1.1.1.2)
Earlier this week the city’s mayor Vadym Boychenko likened the devastation to that seen in Nazi concentration camps. He put the number of civilians killed at more than 5,000, including 210 children ( The latest is that Russia has renewed and concerntrated an all out attack on Mariupol ( April 18) and Ukraine soldiers are still hanging on in an iron steel mill in defending it until death which seems to be inevitable.)
1.1.1.1 Kirill and Ludmilla, the Grandmother
Kirill looked after other kids, sharing his sweets with them when they were scared. His grandmother told him fairy tales to soothe him during bomb punctuated nights, her voice struggling to rise above the noises of the war outside. (Ludmilla had a big influenc in inculcation the acts of kindness in Kirill and before that to her daughter, Olga.) Ludmilla began to fade , a combination of terror, high blood pressure, hunger and depression One day as she was trying to get up helped by my husband she just collapse and died. Two nights before she died she gave Kirill her coats and jackets and warmest jumpers. They escaped wrapped up in his grandmothers clothes. ( Rom 2:13-16 refers to God’s children who did not have to chance to know God’s law and yet is doing the right thing by the law in acts of kindness.)
Kirill was five months old when His parents moved to Mariupol from Donetsk at the start of the Donbas war in the East and Miriupol was peaceful by the sea with fresh air and a friendly atmosphere But all this changed on February 24 when Mariupol was awoken early by the rumble of tanks and shelling sounds that came closer and closer.
1.1.1.1.1 Parents’ Influence on Children
Many parents do not understand how much they are responsible for the traits in their children. Jesus taught this important role of the mother when he said to His disciples in turning away the mothers desiring blessing for their children, "Suffer the little children to come unto Me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God." He took the children in His arms, He laid His hands upon them, and gave them the blessing for which they came. {DA 511.3}
The mothers of today are to receive His words with the same faith. Christ is as verily a personal Saviour today as when He lived a man among men. He is as verily the helper of mothers today as when He gathered the little ones to His arms in Judea. The children of our hearths are as much the purchase of His blood as were the children of long ago. {DA 512.1}
Jesus knows the burden of every mother's heart. ..In every grief and every need He will give comfort and help. {DA 512.2}
Let mothers come to Jesus with their perplexities. They will find grace sufficient to aid them in the management of their children. ..John the Baptist was filled with the Holy Spirit from his birth. If we will live in communion with God, we too may expect the divine Spirit to mold our little ones, even from their earliest moments. {DA 512.3}
.. Children would listen to Him and accept Him as their Redeemer far more readily than would grown-up people, many of whom were the worldly-wise and hardhearted. {DA 512.4} It is still true that children are the most susceptible to the teachings of the gospel; their hearts are open to divine influences, and strong to retain the lessons received. The little children may be Christians, having an experience in accordance with their years. They need to be educated in spiritual things, and parents should give them every advantage, that they may form characters after the similitude of the character of Christ. {DA 515.1}
Fathers and mothers should look upon their children as younger members of the Lord's family, committed to them to educate for heaven. The lessons that we ourselves learn from Christ we should give to our children, as the young minds can receive them, little by little opening to them the beauty of the principles of heaven. Thus the Christian home becomes a school, where the parents serve as underteachers, while Christ Himself is the chief instructor. {DA 515.2}
(Children should be taught) to bring their sins to Jesus, asking His forgiveness, and believing that He pardons and receives them as He received the children when He was personally on earth. {DA 515.3}
As the mother teaches her children to obey her because they love her, she is teaching them the first lessons in the Christian life. The mother's love represents to the child the love of Christ, and the little ones who trust and obey their mother are learning to trust and obey the Saviour. {DA 515.4}
Encourage the expression of love toward God and toward one another. The reason why there are so many hardhearted men and women in the world is that true affection has been regarded as weakness, and has been discouraged and repressed. The better nature of these persons was stifled in childhood; and unless the light of divine love shall melt away their cold selfishness, their happiness will be forever ruined. If we wish our children to possess the tender spirit of Jesus, and the sympathy that angels manifest for us, we must encourage the generous, loving impulses of childhood. {DA 516.2}
Teach the children to see Christ in nature. Take them out into the open air, under the noble trees, into the garden; and in all the wonderful works of creation teach them to see an expression of His love. Teach them that He made the laws which govern all living things, that He has made laws for us, and that these laws are for our happiness and joy. Do not weary them with long prayers and tedious exhortations, but through nature's object lessons teach them obedience to the law of God. {DA 516.3}
As you win their confidence in you as followers of Christ, it will be easy to teach them of the great love wherewith He has loved us. As you try to make plain the truths of salvation, and point the children to Christ as a personal Saviour, angels will be by your side. The Lord will give to fathers and mothers grace to interest their little ones in the precious story of the Babe of Bethlehem, who is indeed the hope of the world. {DA 517.1}
Let not your un-Christlike character misrepresent Jesus. Do not keep the little ones away from Him by your coldness and harshness. Never give them cause to feel that heaven will not be a pleasant place to them if you are there. Do not speak of religion as something that children cannot understand, or act as if they were not expected to accept Christ in their childhood. Do not give them the false impression that the religion of Christ is a religion of gloom, and that in coming to the Saviour they must give up all that makes life joyful. {DA 517.3}
As the Holy Spirit moves upon the hearts of the children, co-operate with His work. Teach them that the Saviour is calling them, that nothing can give Him greater joy than for them to give themselves to Him in the bloom and freshness of their years. {DA 517.4}
The Saviour regards with infinite tenderness the souls whom He has purchased with His own blood. They are the claim of His love. He looks upon them with unutterable longing. His heart is drawn out, not only to the best-behaved children, but to those who have by inheritance objectionable traits of character. Many parents do not understand how much they are responsible for these traits in their children. They have not the tenderness and wisdom to deal with the erring ones whom they have made what they are. But Jesus looks upon these children with pity. He traces from cause to effect. {DA 517.5}
The Christian worker may be Christ's agent in drawing these children to the Saviour. By wisdom and tact he may bind them to his heart, he may give them courage and hope, and through the grace of Christ may see them transformed in character, so that of them it may be said, "Of such is the kingdom of God." {DA 517.6}
1.1.1.2 Acts of Love and Kindness
“Wherever there is an impulse of love and sympathy, wherever the heart reaches out to bless and uplift others, there is revealed the working of God's Holy Spirit. In the depths of heathenism (Gentiles, people who did not have the chance to learn of God’s love, men who have had no knowledge of the written law of God, who have never even heard the name of Christ, have been kind to His servants, protecting them at the risk of their own lives. Their acts show the working of a divine power. The Holy Spirit has implanted the grace of Christ in the heart of the savage, quickening his sympathies contrary to his nature, contrary to his education. The "Light which lighteth every man that cometh into the world" (John 1:9), is shining in his soul; and this light, if heeded, will guide his feet to the kingdom of God. {COL 385.1}
"Everyone that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God." 1 John 4:7. {DA 638.1}
Those whom Christ commends in the judgment may have known little of theology, but they have cherished His principles. Through the influence of the divine Spirit they have been a blessing to those about them. Even among the heathen are those who have cherished the spirit of kindness; before the words of life had fallen upon their ears, they have befriended the missionaries, even ministering to them at the peril of their own lives. Among the heathen are those who worship God ignorantly, those to whom the light is never brought by human instrumentality, yet they will not perish. Though ignorant of the written law of God, they have heard His voice speaking to them in nature, and have done the things that the law required. Their works are evidence that the Holy Spirit has touched their hearts, and they are recognized as the children of God. {DA 638.2}
1.1.1.2.1 Lesson for the Professed Christians
Our standing before God depends, not upon the amount of light we have received, but upon the use we make of what we have. Thus even the heathen who choose the right as far as they can distinguish it, are in a more favorable condition than are those who have had great light, and profess to serve God, but who disregard the light, and by their daily life contradict their profession.--The Desire of Ages, p. 239. {ChS 96.2}
It is the privilege of every Christian, not only to look for, but to hasten the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Were all who profess His name bearing fruit to His glory, how quickly the whole world would be sown with the seed of the gospel. Quickly the last great harvest would be ripened, and Christ would come to gather the precious grain.--Christ's Object Lessons, p. 69. {ChS 96.3}

1.1.1.2.2 Jesus Brings Rest (From L2, para 2.2.3.3.1)
Paul wrote “For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” Rom 8:6. It is by embracing Jesus Christ who brings rest to our souls The psalmist tells us those who love the law of God have peace and loving the law means to love Jesus because the law is a written reflection of who Jesus is. The law is a revelation of God’s character. So when we love the law which means that we love Jesus and our life experiences peace “Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.” ( Ps 119:165) Therefore to experience peace in our life is to come to Jesus , the peace giver. It doesn’t mean there is not going to be turmoil and agitation outside, but when we have the peace of Jesus in our minds and in our hearts those things don’t rattle our faith . Those things don’t cause us to fear because we know that Jesus is in control and in the end His will be fulfilled.
Everything outside can be in turmoil. There can be things happening that we don’t understand but if we trust in Jesus and don’t allow those external circumstances to take away your peace and life could be so much fulfilling nnd enriching. We need to keep our eyes focused on the peace giver and not on the turmoil outside.
There is a lot of turmoil in the world today. Don’t let that take away your joy. Don’t let that take away your peace. Remember that God has a plan for you and for my life.( May this be the thought of the Ukrainian people taking shelter in basement without food and water,) If God allows certain things to happen in our life let us see the silver lining and not gripe and complain “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” . Jer 29:11 God knows the end from the beginning which is impossible for anyone to know.
But Let us not let our lives get out of control. Things might not function as we wish. But if we keep our eyes focused on Jesus Christ and if we experience His peace in our mind, in our hearts we will not be bent out of shape we will not lose our faith We will be filled with joy with His peace.
The study of God’s word teaches us what true peace is all about . Many times we allow the circumstances outside of us to rattle our faith and to take away our peace. To overcome this unrest we must daily ask God, the Father, to bring peace , true peace and His grace for us to trust in Him, to all of us who have studied God’s word. We don’t ask for the removal of the turmoil but that the peace of Jesus be experienced during those period. Our hearts ached for the Ukrainians still surviving in Mariupol who are now in the worst kind of turmoil and we know that Lord, you have a plan for each of them and they will be rewarded accordingly when they have the faith in Jesus. They could be be the eleventh hour workers, like the thief on the cross. )

It started with a Russian artillery shell that brought the house down on top of them.
"We were buried under rubble in the basement. My son, my wife, my mother," Aleksey told Sky News.
"I used a crowbar to break through a brick wall. It was a miracle we got out.”
Aleksey and his family had been hiding in a dark cellar on the outskirts of Mariupol when Russian shells destroyed the home that stood above them, trapping them underneath.
They had moved there from their high-rise apartment in Mariupol's Cheryomushki district hoping it would be safer from the fighting. They were wrong.
Freezing, wearing just underwear and whatever else they could grab, the family freed themselves and jumped into his Soviet-era saloon car. Shells landed all around them as they raced through the pitch black.
It was the beginning of the war. They headed to the city's Primorskiy district, where they thought they would be safe.
The next day, Aleksey, a former submarine engineer who now repairs cars for a living, drove back into his neighbourhood and found scenes of utter devastation. Buildings were on fire. Injured civilians wandered around, dazed.

Russian troops retreated from Kyiv and the nearby town of Bucha in early April 2022, and new horrors of their occupation were revealed.
Ukrainian forces found the bodies of at least 410 civilians – among them people who were killed with their hands and feet tied behind their backs and shot in the head. Reportedly there were bodies of women who had been raped and burned, and bodies of children who were also not spared.
“Rape, torture, forced displacement and other actions may also constitute war crimes,” Inglis writes.
Russia has a long history of committing war crimes, Inglis says – chiefly, direct attacks on civilians during the Syrian war, as well as during conflicts in Georgia and Crimea.

While the internet connection and phone signal mean he can better coordinate his rescues, he now drives eight hours through 26 Russian checkpoints to get to those he helps.
And he still goes into Mariupol as often as he can, filling his car with food, water and other vital supplies to take with him.

It is the story of Grandpa Mazay, the tale in which an old hunter rescues a band of hares trapped by rising floodwaters and takes them to safety on his rowing boat.
"After I have brought many children and their parents to a safe place, I learned that they jokingly began to call me Grandpa Mazay," he said.
"They say: 'As long as Grandpa Mazay's car runs, we will stay alive.'"
A motor enthusiast, it is clear Aleksey sees his car as the true hero in this story.
He smiles proudly as he gestures towards it in videos he sent to Sky News.
"This is her, my war bride," he says.( He is impressed to talk in terms the Bible use in terms of God’s church being the bride of Christ.) "All these rescues are possible thanks to this vehicle."I think that when the war is over, I will buy the best air freshener for my car, I will wax it all over."I will put it in the garage and say: rest, my darling. You have saved so many children." I have changed the wheels on the car five times now. They were sliced by shrapnel, glass. Nine people fit into this saloon.
( Aleksey is ripe for conversion with his understanding of the nature and characteric of a savior and a bride. All the people that he has helped will then want to know the God he worships.)
(In the parable of the good Samaritan*, Jesus gave a picture of himself and his mission. Man had been deceived, bruised, robbed, and ruined by Satan, and left to perish; but Christ had compassion on our helpless condition. He left his glory to come to our rescue. He found us ready to die, and he undertook our case. He healed our wounds, he opened to us a refuge of safety, made complete provision for our needs at his own charges. He died to redeem us. We are to look to Christ's life, we are to see his Spirit and work, that we may view our life and work in the light reflected from the life of Christ. 1.1.2.2 Who is My Neighbour (Luk 10:25-37)
In the story of the good Samaritan*, Christ illustrates the nature of true religion. He shows that it consists not in systems, creeds, or rites, but in the performance of loving deeds, in bringing the greatest good to others, in genuine goodness. {DA 497.1}
He required the answer from the questioner himself. "What is written in the law?" He said; "how readest thou?" The Jews still accused Jesus of lightly regarding the law given from Sinai; but He turned the question of salvation upon the keeping of God's commandments. {DA 497.2}
The lawyer said, "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself." Jesus said, "Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live." {DA 497.3}
The lawyer was not satisfied with the position and works of the Pharisees. He had been studying the Scriptures with a desire to learn their real meaning. He had a vital interest in the matter, and had asked in sincerity, "What shall I do?" In his answer as to the requirements of the law, he passed by all the mass of ceremonial and ritualistic precepts. For these he claimed no value, but presented the two great principles on which hang all the law and the prophets. This answer, being commended by Christ, placed the Saviour on vantage ground with the rabbis. They could not condemn Him for sanctioning that which had been advanced by an expositor of the law. {DA 497.4}
"This do, and thou shalt live," Jesus said. He presented the law as a divine unity, and in this lesson taught that it is not possible to keep one precept, and break another; for the same principle runs through them all. Man's destiny will be determined by his obedience to the whole law. Supreme love to God and impartial love to man are the principles to be wrought out in the life. {DA 498.1}
The lawyer found himself a lawbreaker. He was convicted under Christ's searching words. The righteousness of the law, which he claimed to understand, he had not practiced. He had not manifested love toward his fellow man. Repentance was demanded; but instead of repenting, he tried to justify himself. Rather than acknowledge the truth, he sought to show how difficult of fulfillment the commandment is. Thus he hoped both to parry conviction and to vindicate himself in the eyes of the people. The Saviour's words had shown that his question was needless, since he had been able to answer it himself. Yet he put another question, saying, "Who is my neighbor?" {DA 498.2}
Thus the question, "Who is my neighbor?" is forever answered. Christ has shown that our neighbor does not mean merely one of the church or faith to which we belong. It has no reference to race, color, or class distinction. Our neighbor is every person who needs our help. Our neighbor is every soul who is wounded and bruised by the adversary. Our neighbor is everyone who is the property of God. {DA 503.5}
All this is but a fulfillment of the principle of the law,--the principle that is illustrated in the story of the good Samaritan,* and made manifest in the life of Jesus. His character reveals the true significance of the law, and shows what is meant by loving our neighbor as ourselves. And when the children of God manifest mercy, kindness, and love toward all men, they also are witnessing to the character of the statutes of heaven. They are bearing testimony to the fact that "the law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul." Psalm 19:7. And whoever fails to manifest this love is breaking the law which he professes to revere. For the spirit we manifest toward our brethren declares what is our spirit toward God. The love of God in the heart is the only spring of love toward our neighbor. "If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?" Beloved, "if we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and His love is perfected in us." 1 John 4:20, 12. {DA 505.1}
1.1.2.2.1 The Parable of the Good Samaritan*
This parable is the answer to the question, "Who is my neighbour?" by the lawyer. He answered the question by relating an incident, the memory of which was fresh in the minds of His hearers. "A certain man," He said, "went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead." {COL 379.1}
In journeying from Jerusalem to Jericho, the traveler had to pass through a portion of the wilderness of Judea. The road led down a wild, rocky ravine, which was infested with robbers, and was often the scene of violence. It was here that the traveler was attacked, stripped of all that was valuable, and left half dead by the wayside. As he lay thus, a priest came that way; he saw the man lying wounded and bruised, weltering in his own blood; but he left him without rendering any assistance. He "passed by on the other side." Then a Levite appeared. Curious to know what had happened, he stopped and looked at the sufferer. He was convicted of what he ought to do, but it was not an agreeable duty. He wished that he had not come that way so that he would not have seen the wounded man. He persuaded himself that the case was no concern of his, and he too "passed by on the other side." {COL 379.2}
But a Samaritan, traveling the same road, saw the sufferer, and he did the work that the others had refused to do. With gentleness and kindness he ministered to the wounded man. "When he saw him, he had compassion on him, and went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee." The priest and the Levite both professed piety, but the Samaritan showed that he was truly converted. It was no more agreeable for him to do the work than for the priest and the Levite, but in spirit and works he proved himself to be in harmony with God. {COL 379.3}
In giving this lesson, Christ presented the principles of the law in a direct, forcible way, showing His hearers that they had neglected to carry out these principles. His words were so definite and pointed that the listeners could find no opportunity to cavil. The lawyer found in the lesson nothing that he could criticize. His prejudice in regard to Christ was removed. But he had not overcome his national dislike sufficiently to give credit to the Samaritan by name. When Christ asked, "Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?" he answered, "He that showed mercy on him." {COL 380.1}
"Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise." Show the same tender kindness to those in need. Thus you will give evidence that you keep the whole law. {COL 380.2}
1.1.2.2.1.1 Gospel Religion- Christ in the Life
The sanctification of the soul by the working of the Holy Spirit is the implanting of Christ's nature in humanity. Gospel religion is Christ in the life--a living, active principle. It is the grace of Christ revealed in character and wrought out in good works. The principles of the gospel cannot be disconnected from any department of practical life. Every line of Christian experience and labor is to be a representation of the life of Christ. {COL 384.1}
1.1.2.2.1.1.1 Love for All by Connection with Jesus
Love is the basis of godliness. Whatever the profession, no man has pure love to God unless he has unselfish love for his brother. But we can never come into possession of this spirit by trying to love others. What is needed is the love of Christ in the heart. When self is merged in Christ, love springs forth spontaneously. The completeness of Christian character is attained when the impulse to help and bless others springs constantly from within--when the sunshine of heaven fills the heart and is revealed in the countenance. {COL 384.2}
It is not possible for the heart in which Christ abides to be destitute of love. If we love God because He first loved us, we shall love all for whom Christ died. We cannot come in touch with divinity without coming in touch with humanity; for in Him who sits upon the throne of the universe, divinity and humanity are combined. Connected with Christ, we are connected with our fellow men by the golden links of the chain of love. Then the pity and compassion of Christ will be manifest in our life. We shall not wait to have the needy and unfortunate brought to us. We shall not need to be entreated to feel for the woes of others. It will be as natural for us to minister to the needy and suffering as it was for Christ to go about doing good. {COL 384.3}
Wherever there is an impulse of love and sympathy, wherever the heart reaches out to bless and uplift others, there is revealed the working of God's Holy Spirit. In the depths of heathenism, men who have had no knowledge of the written law of God, who have never even heard the name of Christ, have been kind to His servants, protecting them at the risk of their own lives. Their acts show the working of a divine power. The Holy Spirit has implanted the grace of Christ in the heart of the savage, quickening his sympathies contrary to his nature, contrary to his education. The "Light which lighteth every man that cometh into the world" (John 1:9), is shining in his soul; and this light, if heeded, will guide his feet to the kingdom of God. {COL 385.1}
God's test of the heathen, who have not the light, and of those living where the knowledge of truth and light has been abundant, is altogether different. He accepts from those in heathen lands a phase of righteousness which does not satisfy Him when offered by those of Christian lands. He does not require much where much has not been bestowed (Luk 12:48; John 15:22) (MS 130, 1899). {5BC 1121.14}
(This truth must encourage as well as rebuke us to have faith to pray incessantly and fervently that our non-Christian siblings and relatives. They through our persistent prayers (as taught in the parable of the unfaithful judge, “Shall Not God Avenge His Own” – to be discussed in another article) may by the working of the the Holy spirit in due time will convict and covert them. I have an elder brother who was converted near the time of death through COPD and a sister who could be an eleventh hour worker as I was able to pray for her before she breathed her last thinking that she had stopped breathing. Now I still have to reach out to my other sisters who kept saying that they are too old to change from Buddhism to belief in Jesus. I myself was a free thinker until after retirement when I became a SDA at the age of 66.)

Thousands of civilians and Ukrainian troops are sheltered in a steel plant, the last remaining stronghold of the city. However, the building is surrounded by Russian forces, leaving the people inside with no access to “normal” supplies of food and water, an adviser for the city’s mayor said.
2 Peace is Law & Judgment

The peace of Christ is offered to all who believed in Him and God the Father who sent Him. Jesus came down from heaven to earth to reveal the love and will of the Father. He is also the High Priest who intercedes for every individual who asks in prayer for help. 2.1 Decoding the Message in Ukraine War
The devastation of Mariupol could be one of the signs of the times of the end of the world. 2.1.1 Bible Judgment and Destruction
The truth and the glory of God are inseparable; it is impossible for us, with the Bible within our reach, to honor God by erroneous opinions. Many claim that it matters not what one believes, if his life is only right. But the life is molded by the faith. If light and truth is within our reach, and we neglect to improve the privilege of hearing and seeing it, we virtually reject it; we are choosing darkness rather than light. {GC 597.2}
God has given us His word that we may become acquainted with its teachings and know for ourselves what He requires of us. When the lawyer came to Jesus with the inquiry, "What shall I do to inherit eternal life?" the Saviour referred him to the Scriptures, saying: "What is written in the law? how readest thou?" Ignorance will not excuse young or old, nor release them from the punishment due for the transgression of God's law; because there is in their hands a faithful presentation of that law and of its principles and claims. It is not enough to have good intentions; it is not enough to do what a man thinks is right or what the minister tells him is right. His soul's salvation is at stake, and he should search the Scriptures for himself. However strong may be his convictions, however confident he may be that the minister knows what is truth, this is not his foundation. In the Bible, he has a chart pointing out every waymark on the heavenward journey, and he ought not to guess at anything. {GC 598.1} (This also answers the vital question posed in Rev 6 on who shall be able to stand the judgment. It is the first and highest duty of every rational being to learn from the Scriptures what is truth, and then to walk in the light and encourage others to follow his example. We should day by day study the Bible diligently, weighing every thought and comparing scripture with scripture. With divine help we are to form our opinions for ourselves as we are to answer for ourselves before God. {GC 598.2}

In the Jews' crucifixion of Christ was involved the destruction of Jerusalem. The blood shed upon Calvary was the weight that sank them to ruin for this world and for the world to come. So it will be in the great final day, when judgment shall fall upon the rejecters of God's grace. Christ, their rock of offense, will then appear to them as an avenging mountain. The glory of His countenance, which to the righteous is life, will be to the wicked a consuming fire. Because of love rejected, grace despised, the sinner will be destroyed. {DA 600.2}
By many illustrations and repeated warnings, Jesus showed what would be the result to the Jews of rejecting the Son of God. In these words He was addressing all in every age who refuse to receive Him as their Redeemer. Every warning is for them. The desecrated temple, the disobedient son, the false husbandmen, the contemptuous builders, have their counterpart in the experience of every sinner. Unless he repent, the doom which they foreshadowed will be his. {DA 600.3}
Says the true Witness, "Behold, I stand at the door and knock." Every warning, reproof, and entreaty in the word of God, or through his delegated messengers, is a knock at the door of the heart; it is the voice of Jesus, asking for entrance. With every knock unheeded, your determination to open becomes weaker and weaker. If the voice of Jesus is not heeded at once, it becomes confused in the mind with a multitude of other voices, the world's care and business engross the attention, and conviction dies away. The heart becomes less impressible, and lapses into a perilous unconsciousness of the shortness of time, and of the great eternity beyond. The heavenly Guest is standing at your door, while you are piling up obstructions to bar his entrance. Jesus is knocking through the prosperity he gives you. He loads you with blessings to test your fidelity, that they may flow out from you to others. Will you permit your selfishness to triumph? Will you squander God's talents, and lose your soul through idolatrous love of the blessings he has given? {RH, November 2, 1886 par. 5}
(The two world crises on hand with the first begun in 2020 are a call to the Laodicean Church to be reminded that the church is God’s instrumentalities to diffuse light and the commandment- keeping people of God have sounded a warning to the world. It is a reminder the hour of his second coming is at hand and to hasten the work for His coming.)
We are living in the most solemn period of this world's history. The destiny of earth's teeming multitudes is about to be decided. Our own future well-being and also the salvation of other souls depend upon the course which we now pursue. We need to be guided by the Spirit of truth. Every follower of Christ should earnestly inquire: "Lord, what wilt Thou have me to do?" We need to humble ourselves before the Lord, with fasting and prayer, and to meditate much upon His word, especially upon the scenes of the judgment. We should now seek a deep and living experience in the things of God. We have not a moment to lose. Events of vital importance are taking place around us; we are on Satan's enchanted ground. Sleep not, sentinels of God; the foe is lurking near, ready at any moment, should you become lax and drowsy, to spring upon you and make you his prey. {GC 601.1}
Many are deceived as to their true condition* before God. ..They are to answer His expectation by bearing fruit. He holds them accountable for their failure to accomplish all the good which they could have done, through His grace strengthening them. In the books of heaven they are registered as cumberers of the ground. Yet the case of even this class is not utterly hopeless. With those who have slighted God's mercy and abused His grace, the heart of long-suffering love yet pleads. "Wherefore He saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. See then that ye walk circumspectly, . . . redeeming the time, because the days are evil." Ephesians 5:14-16. {GC 601.2}

God is Everlasting. God’s way is the only way. God is God even before the beginning, in the past, now and into the future; in time everlasting.
Every trials in our lives that God permits such as the Covid-19 pestilence is God’s benevolent act (as exemplified in Job’s afflictions by Satan) to draw us to return to Him, to begin again by returning back to remember the beginning in Eden before sin. The global flood in 2348 B.C is the first event of destruction by the wrath of God on the people He made in His image because the Antediluvian became corrupt and violent through the intermingling of good and evil in marriage between Seth’s line and the line of Cain. And Noah was the only righteous with his family. He became a preacher of righteousness as God told him “My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.” (Gen 6:3)
Noah preached on the end of the world by flood. His message was accompanied by the power of the Holy Spirit. He worked to build the Ark to overcome the flood according to God’s instruction. Every hammer blow was a sermon to show that he believed. His message was the message of judgment because when he finished his message of judgment the world was divided into two groups. At the end of the message there was a clear delineation between the believer and the non believer.
Christ was engaged in this warfare in Noah's day. It was His voice that spoke to the inhabitants of the old world in messages of warning, reproof, and invitation. He gave the people a probation of one hundred and twenty years, in which they might have repented. But they chose the deceptions of Satan, and perished in the waters of the Flood (RH, March 12, 1901). {1BC 1088.11}
The destruction of the world in the end of time as conveyed by Jesus to His disciples at the Mount of Olives ( Mat 24:37-39) parallels the days of Noah. Noah was preaching under the power of the Holy Spirit a message of judgment and working at the same time. This is to be the spirit of those living at the very end of time. They will receive the latter rain and preach the third angel’s message with power that will divide the world into two groups. They are going to work and preach to show their faith is real.
What happened then will happen in the end typologically. The world is morphing into a better society and the end of the world is not going to happen. (2 Pet 3:3-4) The flood is an object lesson to everyone in the world that God is serious in what He says Even the animals who came to Noah and enter into the ark two by two must be marvelled a miracle of God The animal are in tune to the direction of God but the men of higher intelligence in the world are resisting. The orderly procession is a sign of the nearness of the end. This is to say that the Lord is giving us a forewarning in the Ukraine war ( Amos 3:7).
When the 120 year of probation is up the door closed and the rain starts. Probation closes (Gen 7:16) before destruction comes and there is a short period in-between . When probation closes every case is decided for life or death. The period in-between is going to be a time of trouble and after that destruction comes The remnants the eight righteous people and the animals are going to be protected. They are shut in the Ark by God. This biblical truth demolish the popular counterfeit teaching of the rapture theory that the righteous will be taken to heaven and not having to go through the seven last plagues is not biblical.
For seven days after Noah and his family entered the ark, there appeared no sign of the coming storm. During this period their faith was tested. It was a time of triumph to the world without. The apparent delay confirmed them in the belief that Noah's message was a delusion, and that the Flood would never come.... {PP 98.3} ..They gathered in crowds about the ark, deriding its inmates with a daring violence which they had never ventured upon before. This describes the actions of the wicked against God’s remnant at the end of time.This is the foretold event that there is a death decree for all those who does not have the mark of the beast or not worship the beast. (Rev 3:15-17) Then comes the destruction in the seventh plague.
Then "the fountains of the great deep" were "broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened." Water appeared to come from the clouds in mighty cataracts. Rivers broke away from their boundaries, and overflowed the valleys. Jets of water burst from the earth with indescribable force, throwing massive rocks hundreds of feet into the air, and these, in falling, buried themselves deep in the ground. {PP 99.1}
So when God's judgments shall fall upon the earth before its deluge by fire ( in the end of theworld), the impenitent will know just where and what their sin is--the despising of His holy law. Yet they will have no more true repentance than did the old-world sinners. {PP 99.3)
The whole world seems to be at ease thinking that with the vaccination, C-19 is not as deadly. They assume the Ukraine war is confined in Ukraine without realising the political strive and how we are impacted because of the trade sanctions in causing food and fuel cost and possibility of the collapse of the world economy. This is because most of the world do not believe the Bible and it behoves us, as Adventists to share Matt 24 so that they see that things spoken in prophecy is happening before their eyes.
Jeremiah was given the vision of the world without form and void like it was before creation week . So Satan is going to be obligated to stay locked on this planet during the millennium when the righteous are taken to heaven for a thousand years.
The world leaders think that scientific development will solve any future problems as they cite the vaccination being the latest example. But we have not got in front of it yet and it seems to be moving still. Our advances seem to be incomplete as if there is another agenda being played out and this seems to be the Ukraine war. Something is happening behind the scenes in the spiritual realm and we did make a complete application there. What happens on earth is merely a reflection of something going on in the spiritual realm. The only safety is the repent and return to God.
2.1.1.1.1 Genesis Account in the Chinese Language
The Sovereign God is a God of order and completion. There is nothing He has made that is without purpose. He has provided in the Chinese language as a second witness Moses account of Genesis. By unlocking the mysteries in each character together with archaeological evidence and historical records available the world has the forgotten history that by God’s design is indelibly recorded in the Chinese Language characters (a combination of pictograms and ideograms). The original classical Chinese language was unique because it was able to capture Chinese history. Every Chinese word not only expresses a meaning, it captures a history and tells a story of the past. All the stories of creation, Genesis chap 1-11, are recorded in the Chinese language characters (words).
Lest we forget as most Chinese of today have forgotten the God their ancestors worshipped as they are influenced to worship Satan by default through worshipping images of idols. Apostle Paul addressed this condition of the Athenians who had an inscription made “To the Unknown God.”-Act 17:22. The Chinese people need to go back to our roots rather than thinking that the religion of Christ is a western religion.
The Chinese are descendants of Shem, the third son of Noah, just as Abraham was from the same lineage. (15:30) (However, a small number of interpreters prefer instead Japheth, the eldest son ) , So the Israelites, the Chinese group and all other language people, the people in the whole world share a common heritage. When everyone in the whole world get to know of this truth we will be unified as one in the worship pf God.
God is called Shang Di mentioned 32 time in Clasic of History, 24 times in Classic of Poetry; 20 times in Classic of Rites, 8 times inSpring and Autumn Annals; and 2 times in Classic of Changes. Every time He is mentioned not as an emperor or a person but as a supernatural power that is beyond human comprehension.
2.1.1.1.2 The First Apostasy in China
But, over time, Satan instigated Qin Shi Huang ( 259-210 B.C.) to be God as the first Chinese emperor of a unified China (221 BC.). His strive and attainment of greatness caused him to attribute his conquests to himself rather than to Shang Di and to reject Shang Di worship and shun this practice. He became the most corrupted king in Chinese history, although he united the whole of China. During his reign, massive idolatry came into China. Taoism, and Confucianism grew and dominated the Chinese. It is in returning to their origin based on the truth embossed in the Chinese language believing in Shang Ti as God who created Adam and Eve as the progenitor of all mankind that they will be from this bondage to Darwinism by the law of liberty in God’s law.
2.1.1.1.3 Adam and Eve have Mid-Tone Skin Colour
The evidence to explain this Biblical truth that we are all descendants from Adam and Eve (no racial groups but different social and cultural groups) is using basic level genealogy in the study of DNA. The different skin colours is explained by Adam and Eve being created in mid tone colour ( not black or white) that over time become the four main “Racial “ Groups: Caucasoid (European “White”); Mongoloid (Chinese? American Indians); Negroid (African “Black”); and Australoid ( Australian Aborigines).
2.1.1.1.4 King Nebuchadnezzar Testimony for President Xi
Xi JinPing, (People’s Republic of China President) stands out in this endeavour of striving for greatness having secured his presidency for life, instead of striving for the nation’s own salvation in fear and trembling (Phi 2:12,13). Only God knows his heart, whether he is striving for self or for improving the livelihood of the poor The first one striving for greatness was Lucifer who became Satan, the arch enemy of Christ, by wanting to be like God ( Isa 14:12-14) The inevitable outcome is ”Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
He is a type of King Nebuchadnezzar in the narration by Daniel. One pastor from a state-run Protestant church said that the CCP's latest move is part of a systematic plan to erode Christian doctrine in the country, adding that the ultimate goal of the party is to 'become God.' President Xi needs to learn of the forgotten God of his ancestors just as King Nebuchadnezzar was led by Daniel and the three Hebrews friends and instrumental in the final conversion of King Nebuchadnezzar. The Dream which King Nebuchadnezzar dreamt but could not remember was orchestrated by God in using Daniel to interpret that dream which God had revealed to Daniel in chapter 2. This vey important revelation tells the whole world the history of the world starting with Babylon and culminating in the Kingdom of God. If Nebuchadnezzar steeped in paganistic idolatry can be converted to be an influential instrument of God so can President Xi and all the leaders of the world.
The world needs to know based on the sure word of Bible prophecy that China will not displace U.S.A as the next new world order. The fact that Chinese is almost at par or even exceeds U.S.A in economic wealth is to confirm that end of time is here and the second coming of Jesus is very near.
As it was in the first instance In the past, the Soviet Union broke up in 1991 under President Gorbachev and U.S.A. became the supreme Super power. China is an atheistic nation, who has forgotten Shang Di, the Supreme Ruler of the Universe and President Xi*1 is a type of King Nebuchadnezzar who will need to be converted to this truth that is embedded in the Chinese language characters God knowing the end from the beginning does not need to mention the futility of China aspiration as a super power.
Base on Bible prophecy we are entering into the very final movements before Christ returns. All of history is moving towards a grand climax. Signposts that Jesus is on the way are in the signs being fulfilled with the United Sates as leading Global Superpower (symbolic second beast in Prophecy in the ways U.S. operate (not Russia (past) nor China (future) fits into our understanding of end time events.

2.1.2 God’s Final warning in the Threefold Message
The three angels’ messages ( Rev 14:6-12) are but one threefold message. They are three only in the order of their rise But having risen, they go on together and are inseparable.
The temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in His temple the ark of His testament." Revelation 11:19. The ark of God's testament is in the holy of holies, the second apartment of the sanctuary. In the ministration of the earthly tabernacle, which served "unto the example and shadow of heavenly things," this apartment was opened only upon the great Day of Atonement for the cleansing of the sanctuary. Therefore the announcement that the temple of God was opened in heaven and the ark of His testament was seen points to the opening of the most holy place of the heavenly sanctuary in 1844 as Christ entered there to perform the closing work of the atonement. Those who by faith followed their great High Priest as He entered upon His ministry in the most holy place, beheld the ark of His testament. As they had studied the subject of the sanctuary they had come to understand the Saviour's change of ministration, and they saw that He was now officiating before the ark of God, pleading His blood in behalf of sinners. {GC 433.1
The law of God in the sanctuary in heaven is the great original, of which the precepts inscribed upon the tables of stone and recorded by Moses in the Pentateuch were an unerring transcript. Those who arrived at an understanding of this important point were thus led to see the sacred, unchanging character of the divine law. ..
In the very bosom of the Decalogue is the fourth commandment, as it was first proclaimed: "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work: but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it." Exodus 20:8-11. {GC 434.2}
The Spirit of God impressed the hearts of those students of His word thatthey had ignorantly transgressed this precept by disregarding the Creator's rest day ( in observing the first day of the week instead of the day which God had sanctified). They could find no evidence in the Scriptures that the fourth commandment had been abolished, or that the Sabbath had been changed; the blessing which first hallowed the seventh day had never been removed. They saw themselvestransgressors of His law, sorrow filled their hearts, and they manifested their loyalty to God by keeping His Sabbath holy. {GC 434.3}
Christ had declared: "Behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it." Revelation 3:7, 8. Christ had opened the door, or ministration, of the most holy place, light was shining from that open door of the sanctuary in heaven, and the fourth commandment was shown to be included in the law which is there enshrined; what God had established, no man could overthrow. {GC 435.1}
2.1.2.1 Judgment Began in 1844
The messages of Revelation 14constitute a threefold warning which is to prepare the inhabitants of the earth for the Lord's second coming. The announcement, "The hour of His judgment is come," points to the closing work of Christ's ministration for the salvation of men. It heralds a truth which must be proclaimed until the Saviour's intercession shall cease and He shall return to the earth to take His people to Himself. The work of judgment which began in 1844 must continue until the cases of all are decided, both of the living and the dead; hence it will extend to the close of human probation. That men may be prepared to stand in the judgment, the message commands them to "fear God, and give glory to Him," "and worship Him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters." The result of an acceptance of these messages is given in the word: "Here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus." In order to be prepared for the judgment, it is necessary that men should keep the law of God. That law will be the standard of character in the judgment. The apostle Paul declares: "As many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law, . . . in the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ." And he says that "the doers of the law shall be justified." Romans 2:12-16. Faith is essential in order to the keeping of the law of God; for "without faith it is impossible to please Him." And "whatsoever is not of faith is sin." Hebrews 11:6; Romans 14:23. {GC 435.2}
2.1.2.1.1 The Mark of the Beast
To the apostle John on the isle of Patmos were opened scenes of deep and thrilling interest in the experience of the church. Subjects of intense interest and vast importance were presented to him in figures and symbols, that the people of God might become intelligent concerning the perils and conflicts before them. The history of the Christian world to the very close of time was revealed to John. With great clearness he saw the position, dangers, conflicts, and final deliverance of the people of God. He records the closing message which is to ripen the harvest of earth, either as sheaves for the heavenly garner, or as fagots for the fires of the last day. {ST, November 1, 1899 par. 1}
In vision John beheld the trials which God's people would endure for the truth's sake. He saw their unyielding firmness in obeying the commandments of God, in the face of the oppressive powers that sought to force them into disobedience, and he saw their final triumph over the beast and his image. {ST, November 1, 1899 par. 2}
Under the symbols ofa great red dragon, a leopard-like beast, and a beast with lamblike horns,the earthly governmentswhichwould especially engage in trampling upon God's law and persecuting His people, were presented to John. The war is carried on till the close of time. The people of God, symbolized by a holy woman and her children, were represented as greatly in the minority. In the last days only a remnant still existed. Of these John speaks as they "which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ." {ST, November 1, 1899 par. 3}
Through paganism, and then through the Papacy, Satan exerted his power for many centuries in an effort to blot from the earth God's faithful witnesses. Pagans and papists were actuated by the same dragon spirit. They differed only in that the Papacy, making a pretense of serving God, was the more dangerous and cruel foe. Through the agency of Romanism, Satan took the world captive. The professed church of God was swept into the ranks of this delusion, and for more than a thousand years the people of God suffered under the dragon's ire (1260 years: 538-1798 A.D- Dan 7:25, Rev 12:15) . And when the Papacy, robbed of its strength, was forced to desist from persecution, John beheld a new power coming up to echo the dragon's voice, and carry forward the same cruel and blasphemous work. This power, the last that is to wage war against the church and the law of God, was symbolized by a beast with lamblike horns. The beasts preceding it had risen from the sea, but this came up out of the earth, representing the peaceful rise of the nation which is symbolized. The "two horns like a lamb" well represent the character of the United States Government, as expressed in its two fundamental principles, Republicanism and Protestantism. These principles are the secret of our power and prosperity as a nation. Those who first found an asylum on the shores of America rejoiced that they had reached a country free from the arrogant claims of popery and the tyranny of kingly rule. They determined to establish a government upon the broad foundation of civil and religious liberty. {ST, November 1, 1899 par. 4}
But the stern tracing of the prophetic pencil reveals a change in this peaceful scene. The beast with lamblike horns speaks with the voice of a dragon, and "exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him." Prophecy declares that he will say to them that dwell on the earth that they should make an image to the beast, and that "he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads; and that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name." Thus Protestantism follows in the steps of the Papacy. {ST, November 1, 1899 par. 5}
2.1.2.1.2 God's Final Warning
It is at this time that the third angel is seen flying in the midst of heaven, proclaiming: "If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of His indignation." "Here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus." In marked contrast to the world stands the little company who will not swerve from their allegiance to God. These are they of whom Isaiah speaks as repairing the breach which had been made in the law of God, they who are building the old waste places, raising up the foundation of many generations. {ST, November 1, 1899 par. 6}
The most solemn warning and the most awful threatening ever addressed to mortals is that contained in the third angel's message. The sin that calls down the wrath of God unmixed with mercy must be of the most heinous character. Is the world to be left in darkness as to the nature of this sin?--Most assuredly not. God does not deal thus with His creatures. His wrath is never visited upon sins of ignorance. Before His judgments are brought upon the earth, the light in regard to this sin must be presented to the world, that man may know why these judgments are to be inflicted, and may have opportunity to escape them. {ST, November 1, 1899 par. 7}
And this message is the last to be given before the coming of the Lord. Immediately following its proclamation, the Son of Man is seen by the prophet coming in glory to reap the harvest of the earth {ST, February 8, 1910 par. 9} February 22, 1910 The Final Test of God's People
2.1.2.1.3 The Seal of God
It is with reluctance that the Lord withdraws His presence from those who have been blessed with great light and who have felt the power of the word in ministering to others. They were once His faithful servants, favored with His presence and guidance; but they departed from Him and led others into error, and therefore are brought under the divine displeasure. {5T 212.2}
The day of God's vengeance is just upon us. The seal of God will be placed upon the foreheads of those only who sigh and cry for the abominations done in the land. Those who link in sympathy with the world are eating and drinking with the drunken and will surely be destroyed with the workers of iniquity. "The eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and His ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil." {5T 212.3}
Our own course of action will determine whether we shall receive the seal of the living God or be cut down by the destroying weapons. Already a few drops of God's wrath have fallen upon the earth; but when the seven last plagues shall be poured out without mixture into the cup of His indignation, then it will be forever too late to repent and find shelter. No atoning blood will then wash away the stains of sin. {5T 212.4}
"And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, everyone that shall be found written in the book." When this time of trouble comes, every case is decided; there is no longer probation, no longer mercy for the impenitent. The seal of the living God is upon His people. This small remnant, unable to defend themselves in the deadly conflict with the powers of earth that are marshaled by the dragon host, make God their defense. The decree has been passed by the highest earthly authority that they shall worship the beast and receive his mark under pain of persecution and death. May God help His people now, for what can they then do in such a fearful conflict without His assistance! {5T 212.5}
Courage, fortitude, faith, and implicit trust in God's power to savedo not come in a moment. These heavenly graces are acquired by the experience of years. By a life of holy endeavor and firm adherence to the right the children of God were sealing their destiny. Beset with temptations without number, they knew they must resist firmly or be conquered. They felt that they had a great work to do, and at any hour they might be called to lay off their armor; and should they come to the close of life with their work undone, it would be an eternal loss. They eagerly accepted the light from heaven, as did the first disciples from the lips of Jesus. When those early Christians were exiled to mountains and deserts, when left in dungeons to die with hunger, cold, and torture, when martyrdom seemed the only way out of their distress, they rejoiced that they were counted worthy to suffer for Christ, who was crucified for them. Their worthy example will be a comfort and encouragement to the people of God who will be brought into the time of trouble such as never was. {5T 213.1} They are the 144,000 ( Rev 7: 1-8; 14:1-5) who will be able to stand in the time of trouble which are the seven last plagues.

A very important principle of how to study of the spirit of prophecy is discerning, Ellen White’s comments on the sequence of end time events in the collation and compilation of quotations from her various books and articles according to topic ( such as latter rain, loud cry, Sunday law, the time of trouble, second coming, etc.) They are then collated according to topic to compose the article with the theme providing the preceding and succeeding context of each one of the statements to provide the broader perspective within which the statement applies .This also serves as evidence that Ellen White is a messenger of God and all her writings in the Spirit of Prophecy are based on her visions in heaven.
This is Pr Bohr’s compilation of Ellen White’s amplification of the seven last plagues and particularly in piecing together the last thee plagues of Rev 16: 12-17. This covers statements from GC 628 where the first four plagues is described in one page and the last three that require very intense discernment to piece them together from different pages. This topic has been covered before, but this presentation is even more detailed.
2.1.3.1 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th Plagues
In the First Plague: "There fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshiped his image." (Rev 16:2)’ The sea "became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul died in the sea." (Rev 16:3 -second plague) And "the rivers and fountains of waters . . . became blood." (Rev 16: 4- third plague) Terrible as these inflictions are, God's justice stands fully vindicated. The angel of God declares: "Thou art righteous, O Lord, . . . because Thou hast judged thus. For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and Thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy." Revelation 16:5-6. By condemning the people of God to death, they have as truly incurred the guilt of their blood as if it had been shed by their hands. In like manner Christ declared the Jews of His time guilty of all the blood of holy men which had been shed since the days of Abel; for they possessed the same spirit and were seeking to do the same work with these murderers of the prophets. {GC 627.3}
In the plague that follows, power is given to the sun "to scorch men with fire. And men were scorched with great heat." Verse 8..- the fourth plague) The prophets thus describe the condition of the earth at this fearful time: "The land mourneth; . . . because the harvest of the field is perished. . . . All the trees of the field are withered: because joy is withered away from the sons of men." "The seed is rotten under their clods, the garners are laid desolate. . . . How do the beasts groan! the herds of cattle are perplexed, because they have no pasture. . . . The rivers of water are dried up, and the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness." "The songs of the temple shall be howlings in that day, saith the Lord God: there shall be many dead bodies in every place; they shall cast them forth with silence." Joel 1:10-12, 17-20; Amos 8:3. {GC 628.1}
2.1.3.2 5Th & 6th Plagues
There are no quotes on plague 5, Rev 16:10-11- involving darkness, and bearing the sores of the first plague and Plague 6 (Rev 16:12,16, 13-15 -touching on the drying up of Euphrates, the battle of Armageddon and the kings that comes from the East) between 628-636.. But she does describes them in context without using the full quotations in 635-636. Then in 636 -637 she describes the seventh plague .
She describes the multitudes of Babylon which are the waters of Babylon preparing to execute the death decree against God’s people. The very night the decree is to be executed the plague of darkness ( fifth plague) falls upon the earth.
“With shouts of triumph, jeering, and imprecation, throngs of evil men are about to rush upon their prey, when, lo, a dense blackness, deeper than the darkness of the night, falls upon the earth. (fifth plague) Then a rainbow, shining with the glory from the throne of God, spans the heavens and seems to encircle each praying company.” ,, GC 635.2}
Rev 17:1,2, 15; describe what the waters are that dry up the waters of the Euphrates . It is the great harlot who sits on many waters, the Euphrates that flow through Babylon, symbolic representation that the harlot of Babylon is encouraging the people in Babylon to rush upon God’s people to destroy them. But when it is about to happen darkness falls upon the earth. (This is corroborated in Isa 17: 12-13) “The angry multitudes are suddenly arrested.(drying up of the waters, i.e, the support of the harlot stopped)) Their mocking cries die away. The objects of their murderous rage are forgotten. With fearful forebodings they gaze upon the symbol of God's covenant and long to be shielded from its overpowering brightness. {GC 635.3}
2.1.3.2.Prelude of the Seventh Plague
Then immediately she describes the coming of Jesus as the king of the east followed by the armies of heaven (referring to the battle of Armageddon) is given in page 640-641. The continuation of the sixth plague is continued after this in para 2.1.3.2.1.1..
“Jesus rides forth as a mighty conqueror. Not now a "Man of Sorrows," to drink the bitter cup of shame and woe, He comes, victor in heaven and earth, to judge the living and the dead. "Faithful and True," "in righteousness He doth judge and make war." And "the armies which were in heaven" (Revelation 19:11, 14) follow Him. With anthems of celestial melody the holy angels, a vast, unnumbered throng, attend Him on His way. The firmament seems filled with radiant forms--"ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands." No human pen can portray the scene; no mortal mind is adequate to conceive its splendor. "His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of His praise. And His brightness was as the light." Habakkuk 3:3,4. (The battle of Armageddon is Jesus and His angels coming to this world to punish the beast, the false prophet and the kings of the earth who were intent on wiping out God’s people. Rev 19 :19-20 describes the two generals and their battalions; Christ and His armies of angels versus the triple alliance and their armies. The gathering of the battle takes place during probationary time (i.e. even now by the decisions the people are making) and ends when probation closes. The plagues takes place after the close of probation. The battle takes place during the period of the sixth plague. All the wicked are finally gathered at Armageddon to try and wipe out God’s people and then Jesus comes and pours out the seventh plague. The king coming from the east is a fulfillment of the seventh plague. (The battle of Armageddon is soon to be fought. He on whose vesture is written the name, King of kings and Lord of lords, leads forth the armies of heaven on white horses, clothed in fine linen, clean and white (Rev 19:11-16) (MS 172, 1899). {7BC 982.5).
(As the living cloud comes still nearer, every eye beholds the Prince of life. No crown of thorns now mars that sacred head; but a diadem of glory rests on His holy brow. His countenance outshines the dazzling brightness of the noonday sun. "And He hath on His vesture and on His thigh a name written, King of kings, and Lord of lords." Revelation 19:16. This punishment to the three apostates is at the moment of the pouring of the seventh plague.)
She writes we need to study the seventh vial and then she quote Rev 16:17-21. The powers of evil will not yield up the conflict without a struggle but providence but providence ha a part to act in the battle of Armageddon. When the earth is lighted with the glory of the angel of Rev 18, the religious element good and evil will awake from slumber and the armies of the living God will take the field. ( Mat 24:27, 30, 31)
The concept of the covenant must be understood in order to fully understand this mother of all battles. The dragon, the beast and the kings of the earth are actually fighting against God in the person of God’s followers. They are fighting God in the person of His people and those who have made a covenant with Jesus before the close of probation who are guaranteed the protection of Jesus. Those who have not linked up with Jesus will be without shelter. (Whoever is hurting His people (His Church, Bride, sheep)) is actually persecuting Jesus (Head of the church, Husband and Shepherd) - “The world is filled with storm and war and variance. Yet under one head--the papal power--the people will unite to oppose God in the person of His witnesses.” {7T 182.2}) The story at the edge of the Red Sea illustrates this point (Exo 14:24-25) for It is the Lord who fights for them against the Egyptians. In fighting the Israelites the Lord intervenes to deliver His people.
She also amplifies certain aspects that have to do with the 5th, 6th and 7th plagues in the chapter “The Desolation of the Earth” at the same place where she began the chapter “ God’s People Delivered”. She began in both chapters by saying that God utters His voice to deliver His people. She is saying that after withdrawing their support they(wicked persecuters) will turn upon the religious leader to destroy them – “The people see that they have been deluded. They accuse one another of having led them to destruction; but all unite in heaping their bitterest condemnation upon the ministers. Unfaithful pastors have prophesied smooth things; they have led their hearers to make void the law of God and to persecute those who would keep it holy. Now, in their despair, these teachers confess before the world their work of deception. The multitudes are filled with fury. "We are lost!" they cry, "and you are the cause of our ruin;" and they turn upon the false shepherds. The very ones that once admired them most will pronounce the most dreadful curses upon them. The very hands that once crowned them with laurels will be raised for their destruction. The swords which were to slay God's people are now employed to destroy their enemies. Everywhere there is strife and bloodshed. {GC 655.4}
“Ministers and people see that they have not sustained the right relation to God. They see that they have rebelled against the Author of all just and righteous law. The setting aside of the divine precepts gave rise to thousands of springs of evil, discord, hatred, iniquity, until the earth became one vast field of strife, one sink of corruption This is the view that now appears to those who rejected truth and chose to cherish error. No language can express the longing which the disobedient and disloyal feel for that which they have lost forever--eternal life. Men whom the world has worshiped for their talents and eloquence now see these things in their true light. They realize what they have forfeited by transgression, and they fall at the feet of those whose fidelity they have despised and derided, and confess that God has loved them.” {GC 655.3}
2.1.3.2.1.1 The Rest of Sixth Plague- Rev 16:13.14,16
The sixth plague is described in Rev 16:12-16. Verses12 and 16 has been explained. In verse13, the triple alliance is actually speaking lies with their mouths: “And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon.(Satan working through the civil powers of the world), and out of the mouth of the beast ( harlot- papacy*2 to whom the dragon*1 (pagan Rome) gives his seat, his power and his authority), and out of the mouth of the false prophet ( the land beast that has two horns like a lamb and makes an image of the first place.”) Rev 13:13.
Rev 16:14 “For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.” (The spirits of devils are Satan and his fallen evil angels using this threefold alliance (dragon*1, beast and false prophet) to go to the whole world to gather them to the battle of Armageddon. This is happening during probationary time, i.e now!. It is up to the close of probation that Satan is gathering the wicked by using this threefold alliance influenced by these evil spirits.)
Rev 16:15 is a parenthetical statement as a loving warning from Jesus: “Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.” ( Make sure that you are prepared for any surprise of the Jesus coming, by being covered with His righteousness before probation closes.)
Verse 14 continues in verse 16 “And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.”
(Note*1,2: The dragon* is primarily Satan and in a secondary sense a symbol of pagan Rome. “Kings and rulers and governors have placed upon themselves the brand of antichrist, and are represented as the dragon who goes to make war with the saints--with those who keep the commandments of God and who have the faith of Jesus.” {TM 38.2})
In the sixth century the papacy*2 had become firmly established. Its seat of power was fixed in the imperial city, and the bishop of Rome was declared to be the head over the entire church. Paganism had given place to the papacy. The dragon*1 had given to the beast*2 "his power, and his seat, and great authority." Revelation 13:2. And now began the 1260 years of papal oppression foretold in the prophecies of Daniel and the Revelation. Daniel 7:25; Revelation 13:5-7. Christians were forced to choose either to yield their integrity and accept the papal*2 ceremonies and worship, or to wear away their lives in dungeons or suffer death by the rack, the fagot, or the headsman's ax. Now were fulfilled the words of Jesus: "Ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death. And ye shall be hated of all men for My name's sake." Luke 21:16, 17. Persecution opened upon the faithful with greater fury than ever before, and the world became a vast battlefield. For hundreds of years the church of Christ found refuge in seclusion and obscurity. Thus says the prophet: "The woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and three-score days." Revelation 12:6. {GC 54.2})
The accession of the Roman Church to power marked the beginning of the Dark Ages. As her power increased, the darkness deepened. Faith was transferred from Christ, the true foundation, to the pope*2 of Rome. Instead of trusting in the Son of God for forgiveness of sins and for eternal salvation, the people looked to the pope, and to the priests and prelates to whom he delegated authority. They were taught that the pope was their earthly mediator and that none could approach God except through him; and, further, that he stood in the place of God to them and was therefore to be implicitly obeyed. A deviation from his requirements was sufficient cause for the severest punishment to be visited upon the bodies and souls of the offenders. Thus the minds of the people were turned away from God to fallible, erring, and cruel men, nay, more, to the prince*1 of darkness himself, who exercised his power through them. Sin was disguised in a garb of sanctity. When the Scriptures are suppressed, and man comes to regard himself as supreme, we need look only for fraud, deception, and debasing iniquity. With the elevation of human laws and traditions was manifest the corruption that ever results from setting aside the law of God. {GC 55.1}
2.1.3.3 The Seventh Plague
Ellen White quotes from Revelation 16:2-9 on the first four plagues.in GC 628. The fifth and sixth plagues are described from pages 628 to 636. Then she quotes Rev 6:16-19;19-21 on the seventh plague on pg 636 and 637. .:
“In the midst of the angry heavens is one clear space of indescribable glory, whence comes the voice of God like the sound of many waters, saying: "It is done." Revelation 16:17. {GC 636.2}
That voice shakes the heavens and the earth. There is a mighty earthquake, "such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great." Verses 17, 18. The firmament appears to open and shut. The glory from the throne of God seems flashing through. The mountains shake like a reed in the wind, and ragged rocks are scattered on every side. There is a roar as of a coming tempest. The sea is lashed into fury. There is heard the shriek of a hurricane like the voice of demons upon a mission of destruction. The whole earth heaves and swells like the waves of the sea. Its surface is breaking up. Its very foundations seem to be giving way. Mountain chains are sinking. Inhabited islands disappear. The seaports that have become like Sodom for wickedness are swallowed up by the angry waters. Babylon the great has come in remembrance before God, "to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath." Great hailstones, every one "about the weight of a talent," are doing their work of destruction. Verses 19, 21. The proudest cities of the earth are laid low. The lordly palaces, upon which the world's great men have lavished their wealth in order to glorify themselves, are crumbling to ruin before their eyes. Prison walls are rent asunder, and God's people, who have been held in bondage for their faith, are set free. {GC 636.3}
Graves are opened, and "many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth. . . awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt." Daniel 12:2. All who have died in the faith of the third angel's message come forth from the tomb glorified, to hear God's covenant of peace with those who have kept His law. "They also which pierced Him" (Revelation 1:7), those that mocked and derided Christ's dying agonies, and the most violent opposers of His truth and His people, are raised to behold Him in His glory and to see the honor placed upon the loyal and obedient. {GC 637.1}
Thick clouds still cover the sky; yet the sun now and then breaks through, appearing like the avenging eye of Jehovah. Fierce lightnings leap from the heavens, enveloping the earth in a sheet of flame. Above the terrific roar of thunder, voices, mysterious and awful, declare the doom of the wicked. The words spoken are not comprehended by all; but they are distinctly understood by the false teachers. Those who a little before were so reckless, so boastful and defiant, so exultant in their cruelty to God's commandment-keeping people, are now overwhelmed with consternation and shuddering in fear. Their wails are heard above the sound of the elements. Demons acknowledge the deity of Christ and tremble before His power, while men are supplicating for mercy and groveling in abject terror. {GC 637.2}
Then on pages 640 and 641 she describes Jesus riding on a white horse followed by the armies of heaven, the kings from the East ( description of the battle of Armageddon earlier.
The voice of God is heard from heaven, declaring the day and hour of Jesus' coming, and delivering the everlasting covenant to His people. Like peals of loudest thunder His words roll through the earth. The Israel of God stand listening, with their eyes fixed upward. Their countenances are lighted up with His glory, and shine as did the face of Moses when he came down from Sinai. The wicked cannot look upon them. And when the blessing is pronounced on those who have honored God by keeping His Sabbath holy, there is a mighty shout of victory. {GC 640.2}
Soon there appears in the east a small black cloud, about half the size of a man's hand. It is the cloud which surrounds the Saviour and which seems in the distance to be shrouded in darkness. The people of God know this to be the sign of the Son of man. In solemn silence they gaze upon it as it draws nearer the earth, becoming lighter and more glorious, until it is a great white cloud, its base a glory like consuming fire, and above it the rainbow of the covenant. (Then begins the battle of Armageddon when the king of the east (
Jesus and His angels ) come to this east to punish the people who were intent on wiping out God’s people. ( Rev 19: 19-20)
Before His presence "all faces are turned into paleness;" upon the rejecters of God's mercy falls the terror of eternal despair. "The heart melteth, and the knees smite together, . . . and the faces of them all gather blackness." Jeremiah 30:6; Nahum 2:10. The righteous cry with trembling: "Who shall be able to stand?" The angels' song is hushed, and there is a period of awful silence. Then the voice of Jesus is heard, saying: "My grace is sufficient for you." The faces of the righteous are lighted up, and joy fills every heart. And the angels strike a note higher and sing again as they draw still nearer to the earth. {GC 641.1}
The King of kings descends upon the cloud, wrapped in flaming fire. The heavens are rolled together as a scroll, the earth trembles before Him, and every mountain and island is moved out of its place. "Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before Him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about Him. He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that He may judge His people." Psalm 50:3,4. {GC 641.2}
"And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every freeman, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; and said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of Him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: for the great day of His wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?" Revelation 6:15-17. {GC 642.1}
2.2 The World Called to Account
God has a controversy with the world. When the judgment shall sit, and the books shall be opened, He has an awful account to settle, which would now make the world fear and tremble were men not blinded and bewitched by satanic delusions and deceptions. God will call the world to account for the death of His only-begotten Son, whom to all intents and purposes the world has crucified afresh, and put to open shame in the persecution of His people. The world has rejected Christ in the person of His saints, has refused His messages in the refusal of the messages of prophets, apostles, and messengers. They have rejected those who have been co-laborers with Christ, and for this they will have to render an account. {TM 39.1}
The gathering for the battle of Armageddon is taking place even now. When probation closes everybody has made their decision there is no more gathering by God. The invitation from Christ is ended. (Do not procrastinate as even tomorrow may be too late when probation closes.)
The present is a solemn, fearful time for the church. The angels are already girded, awaiting the mandate of God to pour their vials of wrath upon the world, i.e. the seven last plagues.. Destroying angels are taking up the work of vengeance; for the Spirit of God is gradually withdrawing from the world. Satan is also mustering his forces of evil, going forth "unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world," to gather them under his banner, to be trained for "the battle of that great day of God Almighty." Satan is to make most powerful efforts for the mastery in the last great conflict.(of the 5th, 6th & 7th plagues.) Fundamental principles will be brought out, and decisions made in regard to them. Skepticism is prevailing everywhere. Ungodliness abounds. The faith of individual members of the church will be tested as though there were not another person in the world (MS 1a, 1890). {7BC 983.1}
Three holy angels in Rev 14 gather God’s people on God’s side. Three evil angels gathers the wicked on Satan’s side. The righteous follow the Lamb wherever He goes. The wicked follow the beast. These are contrasts Revelation draws. The righteous worship God but the wicked worship the beast. The righteous gathered to Jerusalem.(Spiritual and worldwide Jerusalem) The wicked gathered to spiritual Babylon. The righteous have the seal of God and the wicked had the mark of the beast. When probation closes all cases are decided for life or death and now everything is ready for the battle of Armageddon.
Unfortunately, how many ministers outside the SDA church are preaching the proper understanding of Revelation. As a result most people are looking over to the Middle East for the rebuilding of the temple, the rapture of the church, and the role that the Muslims is going to be playing in Bible prophecy and they totally miss all of this truth truth in God’s word for the end of time. They miss the fact that the final conflict has to do with worship and it has to do with the Sabbath. God gave the Sabbath as a sign that He is the true God and that we should worship Him. The final controversy has to do with the Holy Law as to whether we follow the traditions of men. People need to know what the issues are because when they get to the point of experiencing the 5th, 6th & 7th plagues they are going to be too late. They are not going to be able to gather to Christ’s side.
It behooves us who know to preach (before probation closes) about the biblical concept of bible prophecy so that people can make the right decision and be saved in Christ’s kingdom. Everyone from the errant leaders of the world, like Bidon, Xi, and Putin to the prison convicts has still time to return to God and be on His side in Armageddon.
2.2.1 Last Generation Workers- God’s Remnant Church
The last generation in the Laodicean church refers to the living saints that have to withstand the tribulations of the seven last plagues. They will partake in joining the risen righteous deads in meeting Jesus midair when He comes to taken them all to heaven for a thousand years. Did you know that the secular demographers have been impressed to use the classification “Gen Z” for those born after the year 2000 (-2vrs).
In righteous judgment God destroyed the Anteluvian for their incorrigible wickedness. Noah’s family of eight was God’s remnant church to preserve the human race who will be the last generation that will enter into Heaven at the imminent second coming of Jesus.We have anxiously waited as we worked, prayed and watched since 1888.
When the testing time shall come, those who have made God's word their rule of life will be revealed. In summer there is no noticeable difference between evergreens and other trees; but when the blasts of winter come, the evergreens remain unchanged, while other trees are stripped of their foliage. So the falsehearted professor may not now be distinguished from the real Christian, but the time is just upon us when the difference will be apparent. Let opposition arise, let bigotry and intolerance again bear sway, let persecution be kindled, and the halfhearted and hypocritical will waver and yield the faith; but the true Christian will stand firm as a rock, his faith stronger, his hope brighter, than in days of prosperity. {GC 602.1}
Says the psalmist: "Thy testimonies are my meditation." "Through Thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way." Psalm 119:99, 104. {GC 602.2}
"Happy is the man that findeth wisdom." "He shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit." Proverbs 3:13; Jeremiah 17:8. {GC 602.3}
The work is before us individually. Our moral identity cannot be submerged in any human being. We shall be called of God to do our work according to our several ability. The vineyard is large and requires every jot of moral power everyone has had entrusted to him or her. Partition walls will be broken down. Everyone who will hear the message and believe the truth will no longer be confined, bound to creeds, but will take the Bible as his guide, as the very creed of life, as the waters of salvation. The very intensity of the light shining from heaven makes men messengers of truth and salvation. They cannot hold their peace. They have accepted the truth and emerged into the light, the light shining in these last days. {15MR 223.2} (Christ is entrusting fully on those who are baptized in His name to complete the preaching of the gospel “in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.” Mat 24:14.)
The message of warning is to be given with a deep sense of individual responsibility. Wealth, fame, renown, selfish exaltation will be extinguished, to be forever in the dust. The life giving power from Christ in the human agent will not die. Saints will appear just what grace has made them. They praise God who sitteth on the throne, and the Lamb. They live forever and forever through the ceaseless ages of eternity. {15MR 224.1} ( Similarly, the C-19 pandemic and the recent Ukraine war could the act of providence for a precursor to awaken the whole world that the great judgment day is at hand and probation may soon be closed and the number of God’s remnants made up.)
If we serve sin we shall meet the reward of the transgressor of the law of Jehovah, before the judgment seat of Christ. The Lord Jesus is to judge the world. He can read the purpose of every life, see through every soul, discern the thought of every heart, estimate the feelings that prompt to every action. All the invitations of a gracious God--given, but slighted and refused and rejected--will be presented to every individual, and the sentence which will fix the destiny of the soul in eternal bliss or to be punished with the fiery elementof the wrath of God will close the history of the wicked forever. {15MR 224.2}
2.2.2 Providential Message in Current World Crises
The revisit of C-19 virus that began in China in February 2020 is with the added burden of the world divided into two camps with the infamous application of isolation, mandate and trade sanctions as the worldly remedy to combat the threat of death and destruction.
Do you know which camp you are in? If you don’t know it is about the gathering for the battle of Armageddon in the sixth plague but is taking place even now. When probation closes everybody has made their decision there is no more gathering by God. The invitation from Christ is ended. (Do not procrastinate as even tomorrow may be too late when probation closes.)- (from par 2.2 The World Called to Account.) (The topic on gathering needs to be further addressed in the next article L3 as knowing what to do is vital for our eternal destiny.)
Could this be God’s loving warning in His mercy and will that all may come to repentance and be saved (2 Pet 3:9) to be heeded by everyone in the world today?
This has been God’s will in the creation of the heavens and the earth as revealed in the revelation of Christ. God has always given men prior warning of the coming judgment. To the earth’s cup of iniquities are added the grave and wrong measures of removing the exercise of free will* (See par 2.2.2.1 Watchmen of God’s Remnant Church) that God has bestowed on all men made in His image.
China’s lock down of Shanghai and Beijing and Putin’s (not Russia as a nation, and the consequence of the West, led by the US, to expand NATO into Ukraine ) Invasion of Ukraine may be signs of the impending collapse of the world’s economy with the world’s demand exceeding its supply in food and fuel. We need to seriously heed the word of God that is provided for the last days of earth’s history and by this providential message for the followers of Christ, the remnants are to watch and pray for the outpouring of the latter rain to give them the power from the Holy Spirit to proclaim the threefold message of Revelation 14:6-12.
The true people of God, who have the spirit of the work of the Lord and the salvation of souls at heart, will ever view sin in its real, sinful character. They will always be on the side of faithful and plain dealing with sins which easily beset the people of God. Especially in the closing work for the church, in the sealing time of the one hundred and forty-four thousand who are to stand without fault before the throne of God, will they feel most deeply the wrongs of God's professed people. This is forcibly set forth by the prophet's illustration of the last work under the figure of the men each having a slaughter weapon in his hand. One man among them was clothed with linen, with a writer's inkhorn by his side. "And the Lord said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof." {3T 266.2}
Who are standing in the counsel of God at this time? Is it those who virtually excuse wrongs among the professed people of God and who murmur in their hearts, if not openly, against those who would reprove sin? Is it those who take their stand against them and sympathize with those who commit wrong? No, indeed! Unless they repent, and leave the work of Satan in oppressing those who have the burden of the work and in holding up the hands of sinners in Zion, they will never receive the mark of God's sealing approval.They will fall in the general destruction of the wicked, represented by the work of the five men bearing slaughter weapons. Mark this point with care: Those who receive the pure mark of truth, wrought in them by the power of the Holy Ghost, represented by a mark by the man in linen, are those "that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done" in the church. Their love for purity and the honor and glory of God is such, and they have so clear a view of the exceeding sinfulness of sin, that they are represented as being in agony, even sighing and crying. Read the ninth chapter of Ezekiel. {3T 267.1}
My brethren and sisters, appreciate and study the truths God has given for you and your children. Spend not your time in seeking to know that which will be no spiritual help. "What shall I do to inherit eternal life?" This is the all-important question, and it has been clearly answered. "What is written in the law? how readest thou?"--MS-26-1901. {2NL 164.5}
But the general slaughter of all those who do not thus see the wide contrast between sin and righteousness, and do not feel as those do who stand in the counsel of God and receive the mark, is described in the order to the five men with slaughter weapons: "Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity: slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at My sanctuary." {3T 267.2}
Those who love Jesus Christ will contemplate his character, meditate upon his words, practice his precepts, and become living missionaries. The words they speak will be like apples of gold in pictures of silver. The homes about us might be havens of rest and peace; but they have been anything but this because of the incalculable mischief that has been wrought by the tongue. Souls have been murdered by harsh, censorious words. If the cases of some could be brought to light, it would be revealed that souls have been lost because, when they were struggling under temptation, persons have united with Satan in casting upon them unkind, discouraging words. Men in positions of importance have felt at liberty to speak to them inconsiderately, to give utterance to suspicions, and to judge them hastily. The spiritual atmosphere which surrounded the souls of these men was of a malicious character. They themselves were under the sway of Satan, and the fruit of their words was a soul lost unto death through time and eternity. They placed a rock of stumbling before the feet of the tempted, and caused them to stumble and fall. No after effort to lift up the fallen soul was successful. {YI, July 11, 1895 par. 1}
