2 Invitation

Affairs of the world, in particular alarming and life threatening world crisis( like Covid -19 pandemic, Ukraine* invasion and  worldwide trade sanctions impacts ) are to be perceived in the framework of Bible prophecy*.  It is the only way that by faith in the sure word of Bible prophecy that we can have peace and safety in the midst of calamity leading to final events of this world history, the worst ever time of trouble that must precede the second coming with the desolation of the world.

It is humanly impossible to understand world affairs. Take for instance,  

In response to a request by Ukraine's Catholic bishops, Pope Francis will consecrate both Ukraine and Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary in a special ceremony on Friday, March 25.  (cnsnews, Mar 15)

But , back in  Nov 2013 ( the year of Pope Francis inauguration)  He turned down President  Putin  request to consecrate Russia to Lady Fatima.  (Note this is mentioned early to warn God’s people  that  papacy is invoking Lady Fatima instead of  going to Our Lord Jesus Christ to intercede for Ukraine. When the war ends  with U.S and its allies broken financially, papacy with its rich and influential backers can step in and form the church and state union . Papacy then has the backing of the military arm to exert its position as the supreme spiritual as well as moral leader of the world and then Satan’s  cup of wrath will be full and Jesus will come.  Soon, end time Bible prophecy will be fulfilled. Any new world order attempts will not come about, neither will the presumed need to build a temple before the Messiah can return..Remember it is God who proposes and disposes of rulers in His own time.  

The “demilitarization and denazification” invasion by Putin on the peaceful neighbor , Ukraine was preceded 20 days before by a declaration on Feb 4 jointly made with China. Trade with India is in sight and amidst the oil sanctions by U.S. 100 million barrels of oil is transacted at half the price( USD 50)  from Russia to India. Putin has warned Singapore for standing against him. …    

There can be no rest under the current geopolitical conflicts, supply chain bottlenecks and persistent COVID-19. We are to daily in prayer lay all our personal burdens  and the affairs at the feet  of God to let Him take charge and  for all our works be wrought in Him. This is in the process of entering into God’s rest, the theme of this discussion. Walter and Martin discuss the situation in Ukraine and Russia. Many have taken sides and the media is putting out conflicting stories. Propaganda is the name of the game and it will continue to be. So how do we put all this into perspective and get our minds around it to try and see where everything is heading?)

Walter concludes in explaining the final confllct  ( Dan 11:44-45 ) that causes Christ to stand up  and take back His kingdom from Satan (Dan 12:1) .- The  great controversy started by Satan against Christ  has been dragging  and the Bible is a portrayals of heroes who are God’s chosen  prophets  bearing witness of the reality of God and His message to the world has to come through that we need His moral mediation. He believes that the kings of the world are on the verge or will be pressurized to give their power unto the beast which they have probably done in secret already. Just to convince the mindset of the world that this is absolutely necessary for universal peace . When they achieve it they will shout peace, peace and safety. Then what will happen is sudden destruction with the intervention of God’s wrath and the second coming of Christ.

The world is on verge of the greatest deception in the history of humanity and the result will be devastating . Unless we embrace the truth and accept the fact that we have to separate ourselves from Babylon we will be swept away in the whirlwind that is coming.

 He appeals to us who keeps the commandments of God and have the faith of Jesus, to reach as many people as we can with the true gospel, the everlasting gospel, that we must never give our power unto the beast  and turn our efforts against the holy covenant.

This is the final message, from God that we, as the remnant church, have not been doing so and that is why God permitted Satan to unleashed the C-19  pandemic as a wake up call. This message makes us understand what is happening behind the scene as narrated in the Book of Job.

2.01 Promises of Supreme Ruler : No Excuse for Unbelief

The sovereignty of the Creator God involves fullness of blessing to all created beings. God has to personally declare that He spoke and His word created His works is in the natural  world. His creation is but a reservoir of means  made ready for Him to employ instantly  to do His pleasures. ( Letter 131.1899) God made the world to enlarge heaven. He desires a larger family of created  intelligence ( MS 78, 1901) (At the same time, the earth corrupted by Satan is locked in a time capsule as a lesson on God’s dealing with sin so that it will be eradicated forever together with Satan in the great controversy he started in heaven against Christ.. This is a possible explanation of the need to have divine power of the Holy Spirit to discern spiritual things which are outside of this earthly time dimension.) 

Bible tells us we are given this one life living within a time period in this world which is not our home. We need to know that we are sojourners en-route to the eternal city. Abraham is the first example in the world history to teach us on the importance of faith in the promises of God.

God has the ability to look into the future and foretell what is going to take place centuries before the events come to pass. He revealed the mysteries of the future to the Bible prophets. These Bible prophets share God’s messages of the future with us. As we see these prophecies fulfill our faith in God increase. In contrast to all false gods, God knows “the end from the beginning.” He alone has the ability to consistently reveal the future.

Bible prophecies are intended to provide guidance for our life today and a hope for the future. We will need prophetic guide until the coming of Christ and the establishment of God’s everlasting kingdom. This is the hope in Christ of those who believes in the truth of God’s word provided in the bible.

Daniel’s predictions have been amazingly accurate for the past 2,500 years and reveal that God is really in control of history. Throughout history the Bible has proven its accuracy in predicting the future. Daniel, the prophet, speaks with relevance to us today for they promise certainty for the twenty-first Century. The book of Daniel especially reveals events in the last days of earth’s history. The king’s dream focuses on the end-times. It foretells events that occur at the close of this earth’s history. We also know that the portion of the closed book of Daniel  is opened by the Book of Revelation that  reveals the new Jerusalem, the eternal home for the faithful followers of Jesus Christ with the elimination of Satan and sin.( See D33 par 3.1.2 Prophecies of Daniel and John -https://www.discoverylifediy.com/ )

The great controversy is more real than many people think, because many don’t believe in a literal devil. Why is understanding the reality of the great controversy so important in helping us to understand the state of our world? Also, why is our understanding of how this great controversy will end so comforting?

Jesus gave the aged apostle John, exiled on the Isle of Patmos, a vision of Himself. This vision from Christ gave John encouragement and hope. In prophetic revelations, John saw the history of the Christian church and the climactic events at the close of this earth’s history. The book of Revelation ends with a new heaven and a new earth, ushering in God’s ultimate rest and universal peace.

As the battle between good and evil rages on a global scale, Christ invites us to “watch” and “be ready” for His soon return and to be ready to enter His eternal rest.

Jesus personally has urged upon His disciples the importance of prophetic study. Referring to the prophecy given to Daniel in regard to their time, He said, "Whoso readeth, let him understand." Matthew 24:15. After His resurrection He explained to the disciples in "all the prophets" "the things concerning Himself." Luke 24:27. The Saviour had spoken through all the prophets. "The Spirit of Christ which was in them" "testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow." 1 Peter 1:11.  {DA 234.1

God has also given His assurance through Amos , “Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.”Amo 3:7.  "The secret things," says Moses, "belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children forever ‘Deu29:29. Moses assigned the various chronological periods that, according to his understanding of them, extended to the second coming of Christ as the "times before appointed," The students of God's word may, then, confidently expect to find the most stupendous event to take place in human history clearly pointed out in the Scriptures of truth.  {GC 324.1}   

 (The original apostasy began in disbelief and denial of the truth; but if we would triumph, we must fix the eye of faith steadfastly upon Jesus, the Captain of our salvation. We are to follow the example of Christ, and in all that Jesus did on earth, He had an eye single to the glory of God. He says, "As the Father gave me commandment, even so I do." "This commandment have I received of my Father." In all He did He was working out the will of his Father, so that His life on earth was a manifestation of the divine perfection. Divinity and humanity were united in Christ, that He might reveal to us God's purpose, and bring man into close communion with Himself. This union will enable us to overcome the enemy; for through faith in Christ we shall have divine power. The days will come (for the enemy is working to that end) in which the law of God will be made void. As those days approach, the loyal subjects of God must rise to the emergency, manifesting more fervent zeal, giving more positive and unflinching testimony.  {RH, December 6, 1892 par. 2}

2.1 Evidence of Providence

In His providence, the Lord  has seen fit to teach and warn His people in various ways By direct command, by the sacred writings, and by the spirit of prophecy has He made known unto them His will.  {ML 40.5}

Since 2019, evidence of providence may be acknowledged  with regard to the global crisis of Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 and now war in Ukraine in 2022.

2.1.1 Covid-19 Early Warning Signs

The SDA Church was prepared early to warn the world of what is to come by way of the Covid-19  pandemic via the Sabbath School Weekly Bible Study in the first quarter of 2019 with the study on “The Book of Revelation”   God is showing us  what will happen at the time of the end  so that we will not be surprised. 538 – 1798 was the Dark Ages  with Roman Catholicism  claiming the position of God with the pope as its head. Faithful Christ’s followers  who refused submission to Rome were persecuted and martyred by the millions. As prophesied the sea beast suffered a deadly wound in 1798. John see the subsequent healing of the deadly wound  drawing the admiration of the world, and they worship both the dragon and the beast ( Rev 13:3) ( See D33, par 3.1.1. The Antichrist Power in Deformation; par 3.1.1.1 Recent Evidence of the Antichrist; par 3.1.2.1 Histpry and Works of the Roman Church (Rev 13).)

The Book of Daniel was the study I the first quarter of 2020 when the Coved -19 struck around February-March 2020.

Many who do not know God attributes the pestilence came from Him and this is where we need to share the truth on Satan as being the cause of Coved -19.when God permitted Satan to test Job for his faithfulness just like God is using it as a message to us in the last days to get ready for the second coming and be awakened from our slumber like the warning to antediluvians in the days of Noah.

2.1.1.1 Job Unmasked  Satan Causes Covid-19

Job is brought distinctly before us as a man whom the Lord allowed Satan to afflict.  Very early in the history of the world is given the life record of one over whom this controversy of Satan's was waged.  {Ed 155.1} 

Of Job, the patriarch of Uz, the testimony of the Searcher of hearts was, "There is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil."  {Ed 155.2} 

Against this man, Satan brought scornful charge: "Doth Job fear God for nought? Hast Thou not made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? . . . Put forth Thine hand now, and touch all that he hath;" "touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse Thee to Thy face."  {Ed 155.3} 

The Lord said unto Satan, "All that he hath is in thy power." "Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his life."  {Ed 155.4} 

Thus permitted, Satan swept away all that Job possessed--flocks and herds, menservants and maidens, sons and daughters; and he "smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown." Job 1:8-12; 2:5-7.  {Ed 155.5}

Throughout this trial, Job remained faithful  and vindicated God’s judgment and said, “When He hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold."  "Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him." "I know that my Redeemer liveth,  And that He shall stand up at the last upon the earth:  And after my skin hath been destroyed, this shall be,  Even from my flesh shall I see God: Whom I shall see for myself, And mine eyes shall behold, and not as a stranger." Job 23: 10, 13:15; 19:25-27, R.V., margin.  {Ed 155.7}

“Satan works through the elements also to garner his harvest of unprepared souls. He has studied the secrets of the laboratories of nature, and he uses all his power to control the elements as far as God allows. When he was suffered to afflict Job, how quickly flocks and herds, servants, houses, children, were swept away, one trouble succeeding another as in a moment. It is God that shields His creatures and hedges them in from the power of the destroyer. But the Christian world have shown contempt for the law of Jehovah; and the Lord will do just what He has declared that He would--He will withdraw His blessings from the earth and remove His protecting care from those who are rebelling against His law and teaching and forcing others to do the same. Satan has control of all whom God does not especially guard. He will favor and prosper some in order to further his own designs, and he will bring trouble upon others and lead men to believe that it is God who is afflicting them.”  {GC 589.2} ( There are very much more lessons that are provided in the Book of Job ).

2.1.1.2 Bible Perspectives on Pandemic Remedy (from FA4 Don’t Forget God , par 3.1 Bible Perspectives on Pandemic Remedy)

The inspired writing of Ellen White states the principle in God allowing Satan to inflict disasters and sufferings :

“The followers of Christ know little of the plots which Satan and his hosts are forming against them. But He who sitteth in the heavens will overrule all these devices (permits Satan to carry out as in the case of Job’s afflictions) for the accomplishment of His deep designs. The Lord permits His people to be subjected to the fiery ordeal of temptation, not because He takes pleasure in their distress and affliction, but because this process is essential to their final victory. He could not, consistently with His own glory, shield them from temptation; for the very object of the trial is to prepare them to resist all the allurements of evil. “ {GC 528.3} 

Based on Bible  perspectives, one of the many reason for God to allow Satan to inflict the current pandemic is to wake the world who has forgotten the origin and identity that we are His adopted children who have gone astray. God is allowing the  apostate world to realize  what the antichrist is plotting in introducing Sunday as a rest day in combating climate change  in saving the world to ensure that Satan will still be the ruler.. Remember Covid-19 is only a precursor to the final conflict in the time of trouble that has never been experienced before. In mandating  the C-19 vaccination Biden has exercised power over the freedom of conscience which God has sanctified. He is doing what only God can do. He has tested the ground and prevailed for future use in the final battle involving  bearing the mark of the beast. His executive power did not get past the supreme court but  the seed had taken root where employers apply compliance of vaccination to retain employment ( Read Par.3. 1.2 Wrong Way Warning; 3.1.2.1 Signs of Satan’s Way; 3.1.3 The Right Way, Jesus Way (Jn 14:6) ( See later on why God allowed the Invasion of Ukraine in the midst of C-19 crisis)

God’s warning message  in the covid-19 (C-19) pandemic  is to alert the world that this is a foretaste of the final time of trouble. Covid -19(C-19)  which is Satan’s strategy in conditioning people to accept the corona-virus inoculation and to even practice coercion to achieve the presumed cure.  From behind the scene, Satan is using C-19 to soften the world into coercive submission. Thus, when it comes to the real issue of worship Satan is plotting to achieve total acceptance in receiving the mark of the beast to win the great controversy.

2.1.2.1 SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant

Omicron was reported in 24 November 2021, 70 times more infectious but less  91 percent less fatal than the delta variant, with 51 percent less risk of hospitalization. This is the offshoot of the vaccination and now the whole world have to be subjected to C-19 infection in order to belong. God has informed us to be strengthened in our daily Bible study in the third quarter Jun 26- Sep 24, 2021 on “Rest in Christ” .

We were primed on the concept of rest written in the Bible. Rest connects to salvation, to grace, to Creation, to the Sabbath, to our understanding of the state of the dead, to the soon coming of Jesus—and to so much more. When Jesus invited us to come and find rest in Him (Matt. 11:28), He not only addressed His disciples or the early Christian church, but He also saw future generations of sin-sick, weary, worn-out, struggling human beings who needed access to the Source of rest.  During this weekly Sabbath lesson we remind each other to come and rest in Him. After all, our heavenly Father is in control and is ready to bring us home safely.

2.1.2.1.1 Be Like Job in the Great Controversy

“But as it is written: ‘Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him’ ” (1 Cor. 2:9, NKJV). This is the reward  awaiting Job when the great controversy is over. 

Have you ever felt that you were in the midst of a great battle, a kind of struggle between good and evil?

Many, even secular people, have sensed this reality. And we feel that way because, well, it’s true. We are in a great battle between good and evil, between Christ (the good) and Satan (the bad). Life, then, is really being played out on two levels. The great controversy between Christ and Satan is taking place on a global scale—in fact, even a cosmic level, for in heaven is where it first began (Rev. 12:7). Yet, in the confusion of events, we can easily lose the big picture of God’s escape plan for this world. Wars, political unrest, and natural disasters can hold us in helpless terror. But God’s prophetic guidance can help us keep in mind the big picture of where we are going and how we will get there.

2.1.2.1.1.1 “Fear of Death” Challenge

The great controversy also is being played out on a much more personal level. All of us individually face faith challenges in our everyday life, and if we die before the second coming of Jesus, we will face death too.  It is to have the faith of  rest in Jesus in the face of global unrest and our own unknown future, at least in the short term. In the long term, things look very promising, indeed when we make it to heaven to be with Him.

2.1.2.1.2 Overcome Evil by God’s Law

It was in the midst of the fourth quarter study of Deuteronomy ( Sep 25- Dec 24 2021  that Omicron struck on Nov 24.

The fifth, and last, of the five books of Moses, Deuteronomy—a name that comes from the Latin word deuteronomium (which means “second law”)—could be summarized as follows: Having left Egypt, and having entered into the covenant at Sinai with the Lord, the children of Israel—instead of going directly to Canaan—wandered in the wilderness for 40 years( because they have forgotten the Law and given time to relearn) When the 40 years were finished and the Hebrews were finally about to cross over to the Promised Land, Moses spoke to them in a series of speeches. The essence of those speeches was: You’re now about to enter the Promised Land. Finally! Don’t forget what the Lord has done for you, and don’t forget what He asks of you now, which is to love Him with all your heart and soul and to reveal that love

The lesson in preparation for the Omicron is Do not forget  our God  And the best way  is to be in love with Him and to worship Him.

2.1.3 The Message of Hebrews In These Last Days

This is the current Sabbath Weekly Bible School for the first quarter of 2022- Dec 25’21 -Mar 25 ’22. Repeating what is said at the beginning, Pope Francis   has at the request of the Bishop of Ukraine agreed to consecrate not only Ukraine but also Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary in a special ceremony on Friday, March 25.  (cnsnews, Mar 15) .But he is invoking Lady Fatima instead of  going to Our Lord Jesus Christ to intercede for Ukraine and Russia. The Bible tells us that Jesus is the only intercessor between us and God. Furthermore, Jesus tells us that we are to personally go to Him as our Intercessor in prayer and the Holy Spirit will convey them to Christ. We are to pray for others and here we must pray for the people in Ukraine and the soldiers of both sides. Papacy has never been the first or last to provide aids from its hoarded vas treasuries for humanitarian aids.

The portrait of Jesus, who captures the breadth and length and height and depth of God’s love for us, is our subject  this quarter for this is the providential work of Jesus. through His ministering angels.  The image of Jesus as portrayed in Hebrews captures not just our gaze but our love and admiration and He is our Brother in heaven.

2.1.3.1 Unity in One Family- Brotherly Love Paramount

Hebrews 13 presents the apostle’s concluding admonition: “Let brotherly love continue” (Heb. 13:1). He has affirmed throughout the epistle that we are of the household of the King–High Priest, Jesus, His brothers and sisters. The author does not conceive of the audience only as a group of individuals who work on their salvation in a one-on-one relationship with Jesus, but as a family, or household, saved together. Paul has characterized the work of Jesus for us as “brotherly love”: He was “not ashamed to call them brothers” (Heb. 2:11, ESV). Thus, believers should do for one another what Jesus did for them. Throughout the letter, brotherly love involved “exhorting one another” so that no one would fall short of the grace of God (Heb. 3:13; Heb. 10:24, 25; Heb. 12:15–17). In chapter 13 it involves numerous elements: hospitality (Heb. 13:2), visiting and supporting prisoners and those who have been mistreated (Heb. 13:3), honoring marriage (Heb. 13:4), avoiding covetousness (Heb. 13:5, 6), remembering and obeying the leaders of the church (Heb. 13:7–17), and praying for the author himself (Heb. 13:18, 19).

This account suggests that the rejection of Jesus by unbelievers also implied the rejection of God, as Israel did in the golden-calf apostasy (Exodus 32, Exodus 33). Thus, the path of suffering and shame also is the path to God. Paul invites readers to follow Jesus as “the author and finisher” of their faith (Heb. 12:2), implicitly inviting them also to consider their present sufferings a momentary discipline that will yield “the peaceable fruit of righteousness” (Heb. 12:11). They are leaving behind a corrupted city, or camp, in search of “the city that is to come,” whose architect is God (Heb. 13:14, ESV; Heb. 11:10, 16).

2.1.3.1.1 Brotherly Love Decline after Pentecostal Unity

“After the descent of the Holy Spirit, . . . [believers] rejoiced in the sweetness of communion with saints. They were tender, thoughtful, self-denying, willing to make any sacrifice for the truth’s sake. In their daily association with one another, they revealed the love that Christ had enjoined upon them. By unselfish words and deeds they strove to kindle this love in other hearts. . . .

“But gradually a change came. The believers began to look for defects in others. Dwelling upon mistakes, giving place to unkind criticism, they lost sight of the Saviour and His love. They became more strict in regard to outward ceremonies, more particular about the theory than the practice of the faith. In their zeal to condemn others, they overlooked their own errors. They lost the brotherly love that Christ had enjoined, and, saddest of all, they were unconscious of their loss. They did not realize that happiness and joy were going out of their lives and that, having shut the love of God out of their hearts, they would soon walk in darkness. “

John, realizing that brotherly love was waning in the church, urged upon believers the constant need of this love. His letters to the church are full of this thought. ‘Beloved, let us love one another,’ he writes; ‘for love is of God; and everyone that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.’ ”—Ellen G. 2.1.4 Deciphering Providential Warning

C-19 Pandemic and Ukraine War is God’s wakeup call that the time of Christ’s Second  Coming is at hand and at the door. We, the Gentiles who took over the work of proclaiming the Everlasting Gospel to the end of the world are not doing the work in accordance with  Christ’s earlier appeal to the church of Laodicea (Rev. 3:18) (Last church, and last generation on earth) ( Rev 3:14-22),. Christ’s words show the significance of the Laodicean message for God’s people living at the time of the preparation for the final conflict. It is a life and death issue for each of us today and the need to be reconciled with God through Christ . Christ is the way , the truth and the Life (Jn 12:6)”Entering into God’s Rest “ is the title of L2  involving a continuity in action to enter into the Kingdom of heaven.

We are to be reminded  (with C-19 and  Ukraine war) that the people of Israel were the  first chosen by God to reveal His character to all men.” He desired them to be as wells of salvation in the world. To them were committed the oracles of heaven, the revelation of God's will. In the early days of Israel the nations of the world, through corrupt practices, had lost the knowledge of God. They had once known Him; but because "they glorified Him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, . . . their foolish heart was darkened." Romans 1:21. ( Other case is Paul’s narrative of the “Unknown God” of the ancient Athenians. Then there is the “Forgotten God of the Ancient Chinese—( ). Yet in His mercy God did not blot them out of existence. He purposed to give them an opportunity of again becoming acquainted with Him through His chosen people*. Through the teachings of the sacrificial service, Christ was to be uplifted before all nations, and all who would look to Him should live. Christ was the foundation of the Jewish economy. The whole system of types and symbols was a compacted prophecy of the gospel, a presentation in which were bound up the promises of redemption.”  {AA 14.1}  (This is Biblical evidence for the unbelievers who are not aware of history of the past.)

(Notes: Apostasy of  Israel , the chosen people* : But the people of Israel lost sight of their high privileges as God's representatives. They forgot God and failed to fulfill their holy mission. The blessings they received brought no blessing to the world. All their advantages they appropriated for their own glorification. They shut themselves away from the world in order to escape temptation. The restrictions that God had placed upon their association with idolaters as a means of preventing them from conforming to the practices of the heathen, they used to build up a wall of separation between themselves and all other nations. They robbed God of the service He required of them, and they robbed their fellow men of religious guidance and a holy example.  {AA 14.2} (Christ condemned Jerusalem, on the third day of Passion Week and gave His the Mount of Olives prophecy on the destruction of Jerusalem in A,D 70 of which the end of the world is patterned in greater intensity ( Mat 24) )

2.1.4.1.1 The Voice of God –Grand Evidence of  Christ‘s Divinity

The Voice of God was heard and recorded in the Bible only three times. The amplification of this truth must be shared as the irrefutable evidence to convince the unbelievers of the reality of the everlasting Gospel of Christ.    

By entering into the peace* that Jesus gives ( Jn 14:27) in His farewell message  prior to His final prayer to the Father  and then His arrest in Gethsemane (Jn 17,18) we may be privileged to be like "And there were certain Greeks among them that came up to worship at the feast: the same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus. Philip cometh and telleth Andrew: and again Andrew and Philip tell Jesus."  ( Jn 12: 20-22 {DA 621.1} ( See 2.2.3  Peace in Entering His Rest)

This is the very important truth in the mission of Jesus that is amplified on the passage  of Jn 12: 20-35 copied from The Desire of Ages, chap 68. In the Outer Court (Jn 12:20-43)  

“At this time Christ's work bore the appearance of cruel defeat. He had been victor in the controversy with the priests and Pharisees, but it was evident that He would never be received by them as the Messiah. The final separation had come. To His disciples the case seemed hopeless. But Christ was approaching the consummation of His work. The great event which concerned not only the Jewish nation, but the whole world, was about to take place. When Christ heard the eager request, "We would see Jesus," echoing the hungering cry of the world, His countenance lighted up, and He said, "The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified." ( V 23) In the request of the Greeks He saw an earnest of the results of His great sacrifice.  {DA 621.2} 

These men came from the West to find the Saviour at the close of His life, as the wise men had come from the East at the beginning. At the time of Christ's birth the Jewish people were so engrossed with their own ambitious plans that they knew not of His advent. The magi from a heathen land came to the manger with their gifts, to worship the Saviour. So these Greeks, representing the nations, tribes, and peoples of the world, came to see Jesus. So the people of all lands and all ages would be drawn by the Saviour's cross. So shall many "come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 8:11.  {DA 621.3} 

The Greeks had heard of Christ's triumphal entry into Jerusalem. Some supposed, and had circulated the report, that He had driven the priests and rulers from the temple, and that He was to take possession of David's throne, and reign as king of Israel. The Greeks longed to know the truth in regard to His mission. "We would see Jesus," they said. Their desire was granted. When the request was brought to Jesus, He was in that part of the temple from which all except Jews were excluded, but He went out to the Greeks in the outer court, and had a personal interview with them.  {DA 622.1} 

 The hour of Christ's glorification had come. He was standing in the shadow of the cross, and the inquiry of the Greeks showed Him that the sacrifice He was about to make would bring many sons and daughters to God. He knew that the Greeks would soon see Him in a position they did not then dream of. They would see Him placed beside Barabbas, a robber and murderer, who would be chosen for release before the Son of God. They would hear the people, inspired by the priests and rulers, making their choice. And to the question, "What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ?" the answer would be given, "Let Him be crucified." Matthew 27:22. By making this propitiation for the sins of men, Christ knew that His kingdom would be perfected, and would extend throughout the world. He would work as the Restorer, and His Spirit would prevail. For a moment He looked into futurity, and heard the voices proclaiming in all parts of the earth, "Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world." John 1:29. In these strangers He saw the pledge of a great harvest, when the partition wall between Jew and Gentile should be broken down, and all nations, tongues, and peoples should hear the message of salvation. The anticipation of this, the consummation of His hopes, is expressed in the words, "The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified." But the way in which this glorification must take place was never absent from Christ's mind. The gathering in of the Gentiles was to follow His approaching death. Only by His death could the world be saved. Like a grain of wheat, the Son of man must be cast into the ground and die, and be buried out of sight; but He was to live again.  {DA 622.2} 

Christ presented His future, illustrating it by the things of nature, that the disciples might understand. The true result of His mission was to be reached by His death. "Verily, verily, I say unto you," He said, "Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit." (V.24) When the grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it springs up, and bears fruit. So the death of Christ would result in fruit for the kingdom of God. In accordance with the law of the vegetable kingdom, life was to be the result of His death.  {DA 623.1…

The grain of wheat that preserves its own life can produce no fruit. It abides alone. Christ could, if He chose, save Himself from death. But should He do this, He must abide alone. He could bring no sons and daughters to God. Only by yielding up His life could He impart life to humanity. Only by falling into the ground to die could He become the seed of that vast harvest,--the great multitude that out of every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, are redeemed to God.  {DA 623.4} 

With this truth Christ connects the lesson of self-sacrifice that all should learn: "He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal." (V25) All who would bring forth fruit as workers together with Christ must first fall into the ground and die. The life must be cast into the furrow of the world's need. Self-love, self-interest, must perish. And the law of self-sacrifice is the law of self-preservation. The husbandman preserves his grain by casting it away. So in human life. To give is to live. The life that will be preserved is the life that is freely given in service to God and man. Those who for Christ's sake sacrifice their life in this world will keep it unto life eternal.  {DA 623.5} 

The life spent on self is like the grain that is eaten. It disappears, but there is no increase. A man may gather all he can for self; he may live and think and plan for self; but his life passes away, and he has nothing. The law of self-serving is the law of self-destruction.  {DA 624.1} 

"If any man serve Me," said Jesus, "let him follow Me; and where I am, there shall also My servant be: if any man serve Me, him will My Father honor."(V.26)  All who have borne with Jesus the cross of sacrifice will be sharers with Him of His glory. It was the joy of Christ in His humiliation and pain that His disciples should be glorified with Him. They are the fruit of His self-sacrifice. The outworking in them of His own character and spirit is His reward, and will be His joy throughout eternity. This joy they share with Him as the fruit of their labor and sacrifice is seen in other hearts and lives. They are workers together with Christ, and the Father will honor them as He honors His Son.  {DA 624.2} 

 The message of the Greeks, foreshadowing as it did the gathering in of the Gentiles, brought to the mind of Jesus His entire mission. The work of redemption passed before Him, from the time when in heaven the plan was laid, to the death that was now so near at hand. A mysterious cloud seemed to enshroud the Son of God. Its gloom was felt by those near Him. He sat rapt in thought. At last the silence was broken by His mournful voice, "Now is My soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save Me from this hour?" In anticipation Christ was already drinking the cup of bitterness. His humanity shrank from the hour of abandonment, when to all appearance He would be deserted even by God, when all would see Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. He shrank from public exposure, from being treated as the worst of criminals, from a shameful and dishonored death. A foreboding of His conflict with the powers of darkness, a sense of the awful burden of human transgression, and the Father's wrath because of sin caused the spirit of Jesus to faint, and the pallor of death to overspread His countenance.  {DA 624.3} 

Then came divine submission to His Father's will. "For this cause," He said, "came I unto this hour. Father, glorify Thy name." Only through the death of Christ could Satan's kingdom be overthrown. Only thus could man be redeemed, and God be glorified. Jesus consented to the agony, He accepted the sacrifice. The Majesty of heaven consented to suffer as the Sin Bearer. "Father, glorify Thy name," He said. As Christ spoke these words, a response came from the cloud which hovered above His head: "I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again." Christ's whole life, from the manger to the time when these words were spoken, had glorified God; and in the coming trial His divine-human sufferings would indeed glorify His Father's name.  {DA 624.4} 

As the voice was heard, a light darted from the cloud, and encircled Christ, as if the arms of Infinite Power were thrown about Him like a wall of fire. The people beheld this scene with terror and amazement. No one dared to speak. With silent lips and bated breath all stood with eyes fixed upon Jesus. The testimony of the Father having been given, the cloud lifted, and scattered in the heavens. For the time the visible communion between the Father and the Son was ended.  {DA 625.1}

"The people therefore, that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered: others said, An angel spake to Him." But the inquiring Greeks saw the cloud, heard the voice, comprehended its meaning, and discerned Christ indeed; to them He was revealed as the Sent of God.  {DA 625.2} 

The voice of God had been heard at the baptism of Jesus at the beginning of His ministry, and again at His transfiguration on the mount. Now at the close of His ministry it was heard for the third time, by a larger number of persons, and under peculiar circumstances. Jesus had just spoken the most solemn truth regarding the condition of the Jews. He had made His last appeal, and pronounced their doom. Now God again set His seal to the mission of His Son. He recognized the One whom Israel had rejected. "This voice came not because of Me," said Jesus, "but for your sakes." It was the crowning evidence of His Messiahship, the signal from the Father that Jesus had spoken the truth, and was the Son of God.  {DA 625.3} 

"Now is the judgment of this world," Christ continued; "now shall the prince of this world be cast out. And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all unto Me. This He said, signifying what death He should die." This is the crisis of the world. If I become the propitiation for the sins of men, the world will be lighted up. Satan's hold upon the souls of men will be broken. The defaced image of God will be restored in humanity, and a family of believing saints will finally inherit the heavenly home. This is the result of Christ's death. The Saviour is lost in contemplation of the scene of triumph called up before Him. He sees the cross, the cruel, ignominious cross, with all its attending horrors, blazing with glory.  {DA 625.4} 

But the work of human redemption is not all that is accomplished by the cross. The love of God is manifested to the universe. The prince of this world is cast out. The accusations which Satan has brought against God are refuted. The reproach which Satan  has cast upon heaven is forever removed. Angels as well as men are drawn to the Redeemer. "I, if I be lifted up from the earth," He said, "will draw all unto Me."  {DA 626.1}

Many people were round about Christ as He spoke these words, and one said, "We have heard out of the law that Christ abideth forever: and how sayest Thou, The Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man? Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth. While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light."  {DA 626.2} 

"But though He had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on Him." They had once asked the Saviour, "What sign showest Thou then, that we may see, and believe Thee?" John 6:30. Innumerable signs had been given; but they had closed their eyes and hardened their hearts. Now tha

t the Father Himself had spoken, and they could ask for no further sign, they still refused to believe.  {DA 626.3} 

 "Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on Him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess Him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue." They loved the praise of men rather than the approval of God. To save themselves from reproach and shame, they denied Christ, and rejected the offer of eternal life. And how many through all the centuries since have been doing the same thing! To them all the Saviour's warning words apply: "He that loveth his life shall lose it." "He that rejecteth Me," said Jesus, "and receiveth not My words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day." John 12:48.  {DA 626.4} 

Alas for those who knew not the time of their visitation! Slowly and regretfully Christ left forever the precincts of the temple.  {DA 626.5} 

2.1.4.2 Doubl e Barrel Providential Warning Discernment – Impending Global Economic Crisis

We must expect to get a global crisis as the result of C-19 pandemic and now the Ukraine War for remedies to both of these crisis  by the leaders of the world using drastic sanctions on buying and selling which is the ultimate instrument  of Satan in the great  controversy foretold in Bible prophecy

Economic collapse is what we see in the Book of Revelation in chapter 18. the collapse of the global trading system . The list of goods are listed and most crucial is at the end of time the traders are trafficking in slaves and humans ( Rev 18:12,13)  Human trafficking ( for force labour  or for sexual purposes) is one of the fastest growing criminal enterprise in the world today.  This is the sign of the end. The U.S  inflate their  currencies through spending unnecessary money on the C-19 vaccination and in global trade sanctioning against Russia are preparing the world for the final global collapse.

There is also the rise of the cryptocurrencies. President Biden had recently signed an executive order relating to cryptocurrencies on the need to regulate the cryptocurrency market to provide for consumer protection from speculation, financial stability, curb illicit activity and to include financial inclusion. This is looking into the introduction of a digital dollar an an alternative to the fiat currency. This is because China already has a digital Yuen and is trying to compete with the US Dollar as the global reserve currency.

The economy in the U.S. with its huge debt  operates by printing US Dollars to finance its annual budget. The deficits within ten years will be entirely driven by entitlement such as Medicad, Medicare and Social Security. For There won’t be anything thing else left whether it be defence or health or education, or transport or for commerce. The  knowlegable Americans know that  in their  lifetime are looking off the edge of a precipice when it it comes to the future of the US Dollar.

The cryptocurrencies  began with the idea of escaping the control of banks to have an ultimate control on your bank account. The national banks can have full control of your fiat currencies  when the world enforce the Sunday Law and those without the mark of the beast will not be able to buy or sell ( Rev 13: 16 ,17).

With the Digital Dollar, in place of the US Dollar, your access to goods and services is dependent to a digital system with a digital wallet  that can be closed at the touch of a button. You can be frozen out of the national or global commercial systems simply because a government official says you hold an unacceptable views in society or maybe because you are not bowing to the mandates of the first beast of Rev 13. The global coersion and global mandates of worship and global buy and no buy orders and economic restrictions  are being put in place .

2.1.4.2.1  Ultimate Control on Trade

This is precisely what has taken place with President Biden’s mandate on the C-19 vaccination or  no employment . This has aggravated to a great example in Canada .PM Trudeau announced on TV that the truckers protests are people who hold unacceptable views for a liberal democracy. He then passed the emergencies act which was enforced over a week  During this time under the emergencies act the Canadian government had the authority to simply freeze the bank accounts of anybody who donates to the truckers. They also can freeze cryptocurrencies accounts on the major exchanges such as Coinbase and Kraken. There is no legal charges needed to be made and no proof in court needed to freeze any account  considered to be engaged in illicit activity. There was no judicial oversight and the Canadian government simply assumed the right to freeze accounts of people it did not like out of the economy in Canada.

As a result people are pulling their money out of Canadian banks and they are losing their confidence in the Canadian banking system. 

The question may be asked right around the world that if Canada who pride ttself as the champion of human rights  can freeze bank accounts , take away insurance policies of citizens just because they hold different views to that of the elites is itself a warning signs to the rest of the world that it can also happen in any nation.

Once the precedence is set that a government can assume these emergencies powers Bible prophecy of Revelation 13 in the enforcement of the global rule that no buying or selling if you do not bow the image of the beast ( Rev 13:16, 17) is in fulfillment.  Digital currencies and their infrastructure are in place that will enable this to happen although  Etherium says otherwise that only the owner of the digital coin has sole control over the account.

The rational thing to do is to spend your money as soon as you get paid . If you hold your money in the bank you are going to lose 8-10 percent of its value. The problem is by everyone do so we contribute to more inflation and hastens the demise of the given currencies.. This ia a challenge for an economy.

2.1.4.2.2 Impending Global Food Crisis

The other key issue  is the global food crisis, something we don’t pay attention to because we can go to our restaurants and they always have your favourite item on the menu. But things are going to change and one of the drivers for this is actually the war in Ukraine now since Feb 24’22 . The major wheat exporting nations are: Canda, America ,Australia, Ukraine and Russia selling wheat all around the world. As a result of the War in Ukraine and the sanaction placed on Russia, the price of wheat has sky rocketed. In addition, the production of wheat in the U.S, has steadily declined and the stock pile has dwindled down to 35% and as the war continues experts say a crisis like this with a potential seismic level loss of wheat  supply globally will impact low income consumers the most. The production is also dependent on fertilizers which could be another source to be considered.

Bible prophecy on the end of the world with the second coming of Jesus  focuses on three key enemies of God’s people and U.S.A is the one power that is actively working towards the  fulfillment of Bible prophecy.

The expenditure on the C-19 crisis  together with the lockdown is a major contributor to the current deplorable state of the world economy brought about by the squandering of national wealth on the C-19 vaccination  in blatent disbelief on Jesus remedy for sin, the root cause for all diseases. Rev 18:7-24 speaks plain and graphically regarding the condition of the world in turmoil in the time of trouble prior to the second coming of Jesus. Basically it describes the collapse of the Babylonian financial system which is the pattern that will be repeated in the end of the world. 2.1.4.3.1 World Wondered after the Beast  (Rev 13:3)

It is U.S.A , the prophesied third antagonist and as the  land beast  in Rev 13 that commands everyone to worship the beast . It makes an image of the beast and it enforces the mark of the beast . The third angel angel’s message (Rev14:9-11) warns us against  the beast, his image andreceiving his mark and Rev 15:2-4  tells us the 144,000 as the victorious group that did not worship the beast, his mark and his image. Rev 19: 19-20 speaks about Jesus coming on a white horse with the armies of heaven and standing against Jesus are the kings of the earth, the beast from the sea ( papacy) and the false prophet (the land beast) 

God has given us the assurance that after the whole world has wondered after the beast and most of the world received  the mark of the beast they worshipped the image of the beast  (work at his bidding);  but there will be a group that had the seal of God on their foreheads and they will be standing victorious on Mount Zion.  So Rev 14:1-5 is the climax to Rev 13. Rev 13  to 14:5 covers the full cycle from the kingdom of Babylon to the moment when God’s faithful remnant stands victorious on the heavenly Mount Zion.

In this cycle what will be applicable is the crisis in Rev 13. People can’t buy or sell and a death decree is given against god’s people but, the remnant of God’s church by faith in Jesus will be victorious in this crisis.

The people of God  (those who have accepted Jesus as their Saviour)  is given the work of proclaiming the three angels’ messages  (Rev 14:6-12) to be co-workers with Jesus in finishing the work.  The passage takes us back in time to the beginning of the proclamation of the three angels’ messages leading up to 1844 and ending with the close of probation.  In the crisis, the third angel’s message warns people not to worship the beast, or his image or receive the mark. So basically the 144,000 stands victorious on Mount Zion because they accepted the three angels’ messages, Those who accepted the image and receive the mark are on the other side because they rejected the three angels’ messages.

2.1.4.3.2 Three Angels’ Messages Essential Features

The characteristics of the three angels’ messages are:

1. They must be sequential and must be proclaimed in order otherwise it will not make sense to call people to come out without telling them why first.

2. The messages are to go to every nation kindred tongue and people , meaning to the whole world and to do that God must have a worldwide church to proclaim them. This is the reason for the existence of the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) church ( a worldwide church with +22 million members) and the only reason it exist is to proclaim the three angels’ messages;

3. The messages are God’s final appeal before  the close of probation. Once the messages are proclaimed the harvest of the earth is ripe and the grapes are ripe. Thus the three angels’ messages will divide the world into two groups.

4. The proclamation of the three angels’ messages is accompanied by the power of the latter rain to ripen the harvest.;

5. The acceptance or rejection is a matter of life and death.

6. The first angel’s message contains three imperatives. Fear God, Give Glory to God; and worship the Creator. The second angel’s message  proclaims the fall of Babylon because Babylon rejects the first message. The third message tells people if you don’t get out this is what is going to happen to you.

The first angel’s message preaches the everlasting gospel contains two elements. Firstly, Jesus was sacrificed once and for all. He does not need to be sacrificed ever again . Secondly, Jesus is our only high priest , He intercedes for us and we are saved by His righteousness alone. And not by our own works.

All these truths are contradicted by the papacy. They say that Jesus is sacrificed at every mass, that we need human priests to intercede between you and God. They say your works can gain merit before God.

The first message says we need to know the true gospel from the false gospel. It also proclaims the distinctive doctrines of the SDA church. Fear God is coupled with keeping His commandments as in Ecc12:13. To give glory to God is to reflect His character. To honour the creator is to keep the Sabbath holy. It also teaches that the dead are dead until Jesus comes. This is implied that the dead are dead until their names comes up in the judgment and then Jesus will reward them with everlasting life, not at the moment of death.  Bible prophecy  tells us that judgment was began in 1844, So people in history past did not go to hell or to heaven when they died .However the religious world say the dead know everything and are not dead , that the Sabbath was for the Jews,  that the commandments were nailed to the cross, and judgment occurs when a person dies.

2.1.4.3.3 The Final Harvest

When the third angel’s message finishes the result is that the entire world has been ripened for salvation or perdition. Then probation will end and we have the harvest scene. The harvest will take place when every person on earth has either accepted or rejected the messages. ( Rev 14:14-16) When probation closes, the harvest are those who accepted the message has the seal of God and gathers within the spiritual city. The grapes are those who rejected the message have the mark of the beast. and they are outside the city. Before the second coming we are spiritually in Jerusalem and our citizenship is in heaven, so before the second coming we are spiritually in God’s church. Those in the city are spiritual Israel and they are within the spiritual city of Jerusalem.  The city is global for God’s people so the city is global  thus  the wicked is global. ( Rev 14:18)  So the harvest is inside the spiritual city of Jerusalem. The wicked is therefore outside  and in spiritual  Babylon. The grapes are eventually thrown in the winepress in global Babylon.

The grapes are thrown into the wine pres located outside the city ( Rev 14:19,20) and are trampled and the juices are symbolic of blood of the wicked  that  rises up to the horse s bridle. Clarity is added in Rev 19: 11-16  describing the wicked gathering outside and the city to destroy  those who don’t worship the beast or his mark . It is Jesus sitting on the white horse who comes with His armies of heaven to trample the wicked and to fight the beast (Rev 19:19,20) and the kings of the earth led by Satan. They were captured togetherthe beast and the false prophet

2.1.4.3.4 Divine Appointment in Bible Prophecy ( Rev 10)

In summary we have the three angels’ messages in Rev 14 polarize the world into two groups, with the accepters as the harvest ripened by the latter rain, and the rejecters as grapes of the earth The harvest  is spiritual Israelites in the city of Jerusalem (global) They are in God’s faithful church, the remnant. The Babylonians are outside globally in the winepress because they want to destroy those who are in the city.The separation has taken place and when God’s people appear to be at the point of being destroyed Jesus comes riding on the white horse with all the armies of heaven to tread the winepress and deliver his people.

The next scene is Rev 15:2-4. And once again it reaches the same climax as in Rev 14;1-5.

The land beast command the world to worship the beast ( Rev 13:11-18 Rev 14:9-11 warns people not to worship the  beast, or his image or receive his mark. Rev 15:2-4 speaks about the group that gained the victory over the beast. This is the complete cycle of events from the time of Babylon till the time that God’s people stand victorious on the sea of glass.

The Adventist church has become distracted from what we are really supposed to do. The devil has led the church to enter in a period of great strife like he has led the US into a period of great  the two political parties. In the Adventist church we also have two political parties

Ellen White says:

“I was shown three steps-- the first, second, and third angels' messages. Said my accompanying angel, "Woe to him who shall move a block or stir a pin of these messages. The true understanding of these messages is of vital importance. The destiny of souls hangs upon the manner in which they are received." {EW 258.3}

“In a special sense Seventh-day Adventists have been set in the world as watchmen ( defensive)  and light bearers.( offensive).  To them has been entrusted the last warning for a perishing world. On them is shining wonderful light from the word of God. They have been given a work of the most solemn import--the proclamation of the first, second, and third angels' messages. There is no other work of so great importance. They are to allow nothing else to absorb their attention.”  {9T 19.1} 

SDA have a special message for this time unlike other denominations in  the proclamation of the three angels’ messages to the world as our call from God and He will bless us who diligently do his bidding.

2.2 Jesus The Giver of Rest

“There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.” Heb 4:9 

The Bible spell out the true concepts of rest  to the people of God . This is mainly in the messages from the Book of Hebrews by  Apostle Paul

Writers convey their flow of thought and ideas that are connected  to bring their readers along to understand what they are going to present in an orderly progression of ideas. It is not a list of concept concepts but  a flow of connecte ideas.. Biblical writers follow the same way In the Book of Hebrews , Paul has a line of reasoning to support the  thoughts he is trying to communicate. His audience is the first century Christian group. largely made ofJwish converts. The Jews are God chosen race as the bearer of God’s oracle to the rest of the world. Paul had to tell them to stay faithful as they are facing persecution for their belief in Jesus Christ . In the face of protracted persecution they were starting to fade in their faith and in danger of losing their new found faith in Christ. Paul tries to build up the foundation that Jesus is the son of God , the Son of Man, He is the creator, liberator, redeemer.  Now He is enthroned at the right hand of God. which gives Him the authority to fulfill the function of the Davidic king that God would give His people rest from their enemies.  He connects this idea that rest belongs to God and connecting it to a Sabbath rest. In the concept of rest he points us back to creation  and also to the future rest that God has promised to those who have faith in Christ.

2.2.1 The Biblical Rest

The Concept of rest first started in Eden, the center of creation. In the story of creation , Adam and Eve did no work at creation. All the work  in the six days of the earth’s creation were done by Jesus. We were also told that God rested on the seventh day. This tells us that from the beginning  the first Sabbath is God’s rest and Adam and Eve are to enter are to enter God’s rest on the seventh day and every successive seventh day. This is a reminder that God is the creator and they need to trust, love and obey Him. But that plan was ruined when Adam and Eve chose not to trust in God. They had gone against his word by eating from the forbidden tree. Therefore by unbelief they fell out of God’s rest. After counselling from God, they still kept the Sabbath as a reminder  of the rest that God wanted for them to enter into, which means trusting in Him. The lesson for all is that Jesus wants us  to rest in Him of which in a secondary sense the Sabbath is the sign. Basically we have to begin at creation in order to understand the next stage which is entering into the promise land the rest that Jesus brings at the cross and the final rest in the kingdom.    .

The rest in the garden of Eden comes from believing and having the assurance in God  as the creator. Humanity created in God’s image is the crowning of His creative work. When everything was created we have the Sabbath. Adam and Eve need to know and relate with what they are experiencing in having been given life. God had to explain to them that He has given them everything they will ever need for He is the Creator  and all things are given for their joy and they are to keep the Sabbath as a reminder that He is their Creator.  This was what God expected  from  Adam and Eve. Our first parents. God cared for them after they were created and nurtured them and provided all the truth to whatever they wish to know by asking. Whatever things they need whatever sustenance He is going to provide for them is the assurance given to them and the Sabbath was the token to remind them of this promise.  But that rest is not limited to the seventh day.

For every single day we have the perfect assurance and perfect faith in God as our Creator and Saviour and we earn the rest every single day  when we confirm this rest in the seventh day as a sign of His creation and redemption  Note that in the initial stage before their fall, there was no need for redemption. This Sabbath becomes  a framework for this relationship that God is entering into  with Adam and Eve  and with Humanity. . Whatever things they need, whatever sustenance He is going to provide for them. They need not be concerned.

2.2.1.1 Our Provider Deserves Worship

The concept of worship is actually concerning the issue on who is my provider. The worshiper worships the person or things that he thinks provides for his needs. When Adam and Eve fell their descendents lost sight of this assurance and they worship other gods. So they worship stone and food  in particular  because  they thought that wood would provide for their needs, as the wood keeps them warmth , cook , make a shelter and then theyfelt obliged to make an image in wood and worship the wood ( Isa 44) This describes the same manner  for the fallen human race , the descendents of  Adam and Eve. The Sabbath would remind them that  God is their Creator , the provider and they would be inclined to worship Him.

“God saw that a Sabbath was essential for man, even in Paradise. He needed to lay aside his own interests and pursuits for one day of the seven that he might more fully contemplate the works of God and meditate upon His power and goodness. He needed a Sabbath to remind him more vividly of God and to awaken gratitude because all that he enjoyed and possessed came from the beneficent hand of the Creator”.  {PP 48.2}

This is where we have the abiding in Him and loving Him., our appreciation for His greatness, generosity and love. And the weekly reminder is the Sabbath.  In this world of perfection at creation there is this construct that is there to enhance the relationship between the creator and the created so that they can be at peace and never have to be concerned in their daily activities so long as their will is merged with God’s will. (The SDA hymn “Abiding and Confiding” is packed with meaning to inspire us when we sing it.)  

2.2.1.1.1 Fall from Rest- Plan of Salvation Activation

But now we have fallen out from this rest. So God wants to reestablish this relationship with us. God’s plan now has to move things back to the beginning. The ideas that come post Genesis (1,2) are moving us back to the rest that God had initially provided in Eden before sin.

This is why Covid -19 is a test for the leaders of nations of the world who instead of remembering the true rest has opted for the new normal which is the perpetuation of the works of the devil. Sabbath is the only reminder of paradise that remains on this earth. The Garden of Eden was taken away back to heaven.

God has always wanted to share His love and His good news and His plan of salvation. That is why He called out a people so they could share this rest in Him. He placed the Hebrews on the crossroads of the nations in Palestine so that they could share.

2.2.1.1.1.1 Call of Abraham

God had called out Abraham, a righteous man from Ur, a corrupt idol worshipping City  He then made him a promise that his descendents are going to receive this land of Canaan, full of milk and honey. This is a sacred work with God, the establishment of the covenant that God made with Abraham who is found to be faithful  ( Gen 15:13-21)

God is making a promise that his descendants  are going to receive this land and in the process of getting there they are going to be in bondage. But God is going to take care of that bondage. He is going to remedy that bondage . This is precisely what happened as recorded in Exo 5 when Moses approaches the Pharaoh to release the children of Israel so that they can go out and worship God . But what Pharaoh said to them was they have grown large in number and you are asking for rest for them to grow larger. The spirit of prophecy tell us that during this period of enslavement the children of Israel have lost  their identity and beliefs of the Creator God. So God wanted to provide rest for them who are caught up in apostasy of all sorts. God wanted to bring them out and to bring them to a land where they could have rest from the tyrannical arm of Pharaoh and the re-establishment of their relationship with God. In their journey God showed that He is willing and able to provide;just as He did in the Garden of Eden.

2.2.1.1.1.2 Moses Faithful Forty Years Labour –Deliverance from Slavery

Moses tried to restore the Sabbath  but he failed because they were in slavery. The very important lesson is you cannot rest while you are in slavery. We need to be free before we can enter into God’s rest. The ten commandments prefaced that God brought them out of the house of bondage as their God. Therefore to be free you shall have no other Gods before Him. God frees us so that we can enter and enjoy His rest . There are many who try to enter into God’s rest while being slaves to sin and failed. The wilderness wandering for 40 years is a school where God is trying to teach the Israelites how to enter into his rest. After first experiencing  spiritual rest they could eneter into a land of rest, but the land itself would not give them rest. It was Jesus who would give them rest. Now if they had entered into God’s rest they were freed from idolatry and could then possess Canaan, clear the land of idolatry and enjoy the physical rest.

However this did not turn out as they lost faith in God throughout t the journey. They complained when didn’t have water, when thet didn’t have food they have in Egypt, and it was in unbelief that they were not resting in the Lord. Israel as a whole never kept the Sabbath in the OT as a corporate, but a few individuals did. Their constant sin as mentioned in the OT is idolatry. Idolatry is contrary to creation. When we worship otr false gods it is because we forget about  the true God, the Creator. Idolatory is worship of a false god , a creation of our own hands. It is self worship, The idols were made after the image of the person that made it.

2.2.1.1.2 Sabbath Rest & Redemption Rest

There are two types of rest, the rest in creation and then the rest that came after redemption when god delivered them from bondage so that they can enter into the rest. The Sabbath then became a sign of their redemption from bondage. So they had two reasons to keep the Sabbath. In the fourth commandment they had the reason which is God is the creator so don’t practice idolatry because there is only one true God and the Sabbath proves that. Secondly, trust  in the Lord, enter His rest because you did not deliver yourselves but by God personally. So rest in God and keep the Sabbath as a sign of that redemption. 

The issue with Idolatry is that the heathens and pagans,worship institutions were work oriented in having to sacrifice your children or even cut yourself. This is  a performance base worship system for you to appease this god that you were worshiping. But God is trying to make them see a rest based relationship. Where they can build confidence in Him to provide and they don’t have to perform. God gave them signs of their redemption in the wonders that were performed.,

The blood of the Passover lamb was shed to remind them of that and the Sabbath was given to remind them of that. And every week they were to remember they were slaves and God by His power delivered. Jesus died on Friday and rested in the tomb from His works of redemption not from anything we  have done. So His followers rest on the Sabbath day with Him. Jesus finished His work on the cross and He invites us to rest every day in our relationship with Him . But the seventh day in the week is a reminder every week that salvation has been taken cared of by Jesus; not by our works like the pagans believed they had to impress their gods by what they did. God did every thing in redeeming us and He did everything in creating us.

2.2.1.1.2.1 No Rest for Israel in Unbelief

The passage in Hebrews  3:19-4: 9. deals with the key idea  on Israel as a nation because of unbelief and lack of faith. Corporately, Israel, as a nation would not enter His rest  because of unbelief even though they entered the promised land with Joshua,  and even 400 years later .This rest is available and still is available to enter and the meaning of the word  “rest “ is the key to its understanding .

2.2.1.1.2.2 The Way to Enter God’s Rest

This word ” rest”  appeared 11 times in the passage and  In 10 times is the Greek word “kataleipō “ meaning cease or pause. The one time in verse9 is the word “sabatismos” which basically means there remains a Sabbath like or Sabbath quality rest for the people of God. and it is pointing to creation. Vv10 and 11 tell us how to enter into the rest that is available today for us. Paul is showing us how on Sabbath to enter God’s rest by ceasing from our works, as God ceased from His. Here we are invited to cease from our works so that we can enter into God’s rest by faith. In the final restoration when God makes a new heavens and  new earth  we don’t have to do anything as in creation and redemption and we have to from Sabbat to Sabbath as a reminder to worship the Lord.  (Isa 66). The central theme is if you are disobedient and disbelieveing, no matter if you are keeping the Sabbath you are not entering His rest. We need to have faith in the provision that God has made all the provisions for us. And it is not something we can work for  (Phi 2:12). We can’t release ourselves from the bondage of sin, but if we rely in faith on the merits of Christ we can then lay our burden down and we can find rest in Him. If you are unbelieving and if you are disobedient, no matter if you keep the Sabbath you are not entering His rest.

2.2.1.1.2.3 The Future Dimension of Rest

There is also the future dimension In the days of Christ the Pharisees taught the Israelites to earn the favour of God by the observance of the Sabbath with all their strict codes to be kept in order not to break the rest. But they rejected Christ, the one who could give them rest. Jesus had to tell them to come to Him who can give them rest from the burdens the Pharisees placed upon the people with all the rules concerning Sabbath keeping. That is why Jesus offers His remedy “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Mat 11:28.

We might be in the same danger  that because we keep Sabbath and go to church every Sabbath then we presume we are prepared for the mark of the best test. But only those who have entered into God’s rest will receive the seal of the living God. It is not enough to know theoretically that the Sabbath is the seventh day of the Lord. if we do not enter into God’s rest we will easily side with the mark of the beast as it is easier to get our provision by so doing  for we cannot buy or sell  without the mark of the beast.

These things are written for us at the end of the age.  As we enter into end time we know that we will be facing persection it is important to enter into His rest This is the future dimension of rest this side of the kingdom. Keeping Sabbath is really a way to enhance our relationship with Jesus. it is a day to spend time in nature and behold the provisions that God created for men  In doing so deepens our gratitude and building our relationship  with Him. As we have confidence that He is going to provide for us that He will continue this provision that He will take care of us.

The vital question is  Have we entered His rest knowing that Jesus, our Lord, will carry us through to the end?

The unbelief of the desert generation prevented them from entering into the rest God promised. But God kept urging His people to enter this rest and not to harden their hearts. Paul repeats several times that God’s promise “remains” (Heb. 4:1, 6, 9, NKJV). He uses the Greek verbs kataleipō and apoleipō, emphasizing that “the promise of entering his [God’s] rest still stands” (Heb. 4:1, ESV). The fact that the invitation to enter this rest was repeated in the time of David (Heb. 4:6, 7, referring to Psalm 95) implied both that the promise had not been claimed and that it was still available. In fact, Paul suggests that the experience of true Sabbath rest has been available since the time of Creation (Heb. 4:3, 4).

2.2.1.1.2.3.1 Enter Today- Do Not Procrastinate

God invites us “today” to enter into His rest. “Today” is a crucial concept throughout Scripture. When Moses renewed Israel’s covenant with God at the border of the Promised Land, he emphasized the importance of “today” (Deut. 5:3, compare Deut. 4:8, Deut. 6:6, etc.). It was a moment of reflection to recognize God’s faithfulness (Deut. 11:2–7) and a time of decision to obey the Lord (Deut. 5:1–3). Similarly, Joshua called on the people of his time to “choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve” (Josh. 24:15, NKJV).

In the same way, “today” is a time of decision for us, a time of opportunity as well as danger,   it has always been for God’s people (See 2 Cor. 6:2). “Today” appears five times in Hebrews 3 and Hebrews 4. It emphasizes the importance of listening to God’s voice (Heb. 3:7, 15; 4:7) because failing to listen and believe God’s Word leads to disobedience and the hardening of our hearts. It could even delay our entrance into the heavenly Canaan, just as it kept the wilderness generation from entering the earthly Canaan. Sabbath is for celebration, for joy and thanksgiving. When we keep the Sabbath, we indicate that we believe God’s promises, that we accept His gift of grace. Sabbath is faith alive and vibrant. As far as actions go, Sabbath observance is probably the fullest expression of our conviction that we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus.

 2.2.1.1.2.3.2 Share the Gospel to the Lost

The most important work that mankind can involve in at this point in time , in earth’s history, is the sharing of the good news that Jesus is coming again. This is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. Your life depends on it and the lives of other people depends on hearing the gospel  Our work therefore is not in making money and be concerned about the things in this world such as Covid-19 and to add to this the Ukraine conflict . These major disturbances are Satan’s way to distract us to prepare for the higher citizenship in the world to come. But the truth is the thing that we ought to spend most of our time and foremost in our thinking is the sharing of the gospel.in whatever way God impresses you to do . Our job is to let God be God and we are to assist him by just lifting up His name. God does not hate any one, He loves everyone.  Just because you cannot see value in the situation or in the people or you don’t see how success can come out of this situation does not mean god is not in total control. He wants to save everyone (Rom 2:11; Act 10:34; 2pet: 3:8-10) God wants the whole world to come to Him.. Our job is not to convert them but to lift up Jesus and let the power of Jesus do the converting. God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked but calls every one now to a conversion  experience and He calls His people through His people so that God can be lifted up in the lives of those who need to hear about Jesus.

2.2.1.1.2.3.3 Jonah’s Call in Nineveh’s Deliverance

The Essence of the lesson on Jonah is that he had wished to die six times when God is trying to teach him on three separate times of God’s will to save everyone: 1. the fish swallowed him for three days and three nights; 2. The wind that caused the fish spew him out and tossed him overboard on land that he could meet God call to reach out to Nineveh;  3. The worm to destroy the plant that was protecting Jonah from the sun;  The Bible ends with God asking Jonah a rhetorical question to try to get him to see his own spiritual condition. God pleads with Jonah to a correct understanding of what is going on in Nineveh. But it didn’t say Jonah was ever converted. The import of this question is will we end up like Jonah. Will we put ourselves to the task of doing the work of God?  The wonder of it All

2.2.1.1.2.3.3.1 The Work of Preparation 

We must be at our Father’s business as the time is short and we must serve faithfully and consistently as we prepare for that day when Christ shall come to take His children home.

And he said, I do well to be angry, even unto death. Jon 4:10  Then said the LORD, Thou hast had pity on the gourd, for the which thou hast not laboured, neither madest it grow; which came up in a night, and perished in a night: Jon 4:11  And should not I spare Nineveh, that great city, wherein are more than sixscore thousand persons that cannot discern between their right hand and their left hand; and also much cattle?  ) 

2.2. 2 The End is Come Reality

Words of Ezekiel portrays the times in which we live in Eze 7:1-These words apply specifically to those who are living in the end of time. We have watched what is happening in the world and we see the distress , the anguish, wars and rumours of wars, famines, pestilences in the land. We see that society is turning apart , children being disobedient to their parents parents being more negliful of their children. spiritual apathy in our church, Definitely the signs of the times tells us that the end is come.

The main point that Pr Miranda is sharing in this presentation is that it is not enough to be aware of the end of times, if that is not reflected in the way we live. We have been accustomed to be revived by news and end time events when something striking happens We are all aroused whenever we hear war and often the expression now the end is come.  but it is not enough to acknowledge that the end has come. It is not enough tp know that we are living in the last days;  to know that prophecies are fulfilling right before our eyes. tp know the interpretation of the symbols of the prophetic writings if we do not live as if we were living in the last days.

He is presenting how we should live in the end of times. This is demonstated in the sons of Issachar  Their three characteristic are,” And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their commandment. Their brethrens would follow their commandments.” 1Ch 12:32 

2.2.2.1 Understanding of the Time

We have been living in the end  for more than 200 years.whic began in Oct 22 , 1844. ( based on the 2300 days in Dan 8:14 which Daniel didn’t understand) The way our brethrens respond to our action in view of the time we live in is very important. This time of the end ia an appointed time (Dan 11:35,37)  telling of  a time of persecution ( this lasted for 1260 days ( 1798 A.D. before the time of the end ( Dan 7:25, 12:7,9; Rev 12: 6,14)  Ellen White clarified that since 1798 the sealed portion of the book of  Daniel (Dan 12:9) has been unsealed as knowledge of the prophecies has increased, and many have proclaimed the solemn message of the judgment near. {GC 356.2} 

2.2.2.1.1 Opening of Judgment in End Time

The prophecies present a succession of events leading down to the opening of the judgment. It is ongoing in the present time This is especially true of the book of Daniel. But that part of his prophecy which related to the last days, Daniel was bidden to close up and seal "to the time of the end." Not till we reach this time could a message concerning the judgment be proclaimed, based on the fulfillment of these prophecies. But at the time of the end, says the prophet, "many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased." Daniel 12:4.  {GC 355.3})

2.2.2.1.1.1 Man of Sin Precedes Second Coming

Not till after the great apostasy, and the long period of the reign of the "man of sin," can we look for the advent of our Lord. The "man of sin," (2 The 2:3.) which is also styled "the mystery of iniquity," "the son of perdition," and "that wicked," represents the papacy, which, as foretold in prophecy, was to maintain its supremacy for 1260 years. This period ended in 1798. The coming of Christ could not take place before that time. Paul covers with his caution the whole of the Christian dispensation down to the year 1798. (2 The 2)  It is this side of that time that the message of Christ's second coming is to be proclaimed.  {GC 356.1} Since then ( or starting from 1798) Christ can come at any time.

 2.2.2.1.1.1.1 SDA  Primary Mission

The SDA church( 22nd May, 1865)  was raised in this time ( Rev 10) with a prophetic mission  to preach the three angels messages to every nation kindred and tongue and people. Like the children of Issachar we know we are living in the time of the end and so we will know exactly what we need to do. God’s people have always been expected to live for God for Christ. To live pure lives and have the righteousness of Christ. Making Jesus as the center  Prophecy helps us understand better our purpose and mission

2.2.2.2 Knowing the Time

The time prophesied dictates how we should live as it tells us how close we are to the end. Prophecy helps us understand better our purpose and mission. So how are we supposed to live in the end of time?

“Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.” Dan 12:10 

The end-time prophecy ( Dan 12 :10)  is conditional  It depends on you if it will be fulfilled. Prophecy dictates how we should live  and tells us how close we are to the end. The message we are to bear must be centered on Christ and shared with love .

The standard of the Bible must be upheld for those who are living in the time of the end  and being more specifically for those who are living in the judgment hour  Judgment hour is proclaimed by the first angel (messenger). They are to be purified, made white, and tried. Remember that the judgment is right now going on in heaven that started in 1844., the time when the sanctuary started to be cleansed, symbolic to the investigative judgment  begun in the heavenly sanctuary.

2.2.2.2.1. Judgment in Sanctuary Symbolic of Wedding Ceremony

The judgment in the Bible is compared to the wedding time. ( Luk 12:36) In the time of Jesus, the wedding is an arrangement between the Father of the bride (who trusted the father with his decision not hers) with the Bridegroom. The wife was to prepare to meet her husband. The godly father was to examine the character of the groom  for the happiness of her daughter and to examine whether the Groom was able to support his wife financially and have a house.and require a dowry. ( it is quite incredible that the Chinese and the Indians ancient customs followed that method in the past of an arranged marriage. They could have that past down from the Jews ) .Jesus use that imagery in his parable  to teach  in a spiritual sense that the father was God. 

2.2.2.2.1.2 Parable of the Wedding Feast ( Mat 22:1-14)

“The parable of the wedding feast “in the Bible is given as illustration of its conciseness in conveying the history of Israel of how it brought about its downfall as a nation with the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 A.D.

Mat 22:1  And Jesus answered and spake unto them again by parables, and said, 

Mat 22:2  The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king ( God , the Father), which made a marriage for his son ( Jesus Christ), 

Mat 22:3  And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come (The Jews were the first chosen race  and God sents many faithful servants  to invite Israel to come to come back to God, to repent, but they refused, and instead persecuted and even killed some Old Testament prophets .)  

Mat 22:4  Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage. (The second call was the apostles as Jesus Christ was sacrified whom they crucified and made the call more appealing, urgent and vital . Steven was stone and many other ere persecuted and all the apostles were killed except John to bear the testimony of Jesus.)

Mat 22:5  But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise: 

Mat 22:6  And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them. 

Mat 22:7  But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city. (This was in reference to Jerusalem in 70 A,D which was besieged and destroyed by the Romans . This was the result of their rejection of God’s invitation to return to Him and lost the protection offered by God. This was foretold by Jesus on the Mount of Olives to His disciple and is also the manner by which the world will end.)

Mat 22:8  Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy. 

Mat 22:9  Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage. (This is the third call and this call to to all other races, the gentiles.  )

Mat 22:10  So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests. 

(Verses11-14 , point to a time prior to the supper when all the guest must be investigated and checked worthy , righteous and loyal )

Mat 22:11  And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment: 

Mat 22:12  And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless. ( This is prior to the supper when there is an investigation of the garments. )

Mat 22:13  Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 

Mat 22:14  For many are called, but few are chosen. 

This parable is to teach us that we must be properly dressed *with the righteous robe of Christ  which is our character. Rev 19:6-10  tells us that those invited to the lamb’s supper  are “arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.” V.8 “And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.” V.9. Note the  occasion for this array of white inen is the garment  is clarified in Rom 13: 11-14: that of the need to know the time of invitation and to be prepared for His second  coming ( the third characteristic of the sons of Issachar.)

(Note: Proper attire (dress*) at the wedding: Rev 19:8  “And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.” Rev 19:9  And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God. (We do not have any righteous, the righteousness of the saints is the righteousness of Jesus))

2.2. 2.2.1.3 To be Clothed in Jesus Christ

Rom 13:11  And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. (Things in the world are getting more complex and more dangerous. This war in Ukraine to some reckoning is the verge of a third world war. Whether this will come about is uncertain, but we can testify that we are living in very difficult times . We have yet to come fully out of a pandemic killing millions and now we are facing polical unrest  that  is involving the whole world through the imposition of trade sanctions  which could bring about food shortages. )

Rom 13:12  The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. (We see in the world and in our churches evidence that we have wasted our precious time in sleep. This is why God permitted the C-19 pandemic and the Ukraine war to wake up from our slumber. It is not enough to know that we are in the last days, that the night is far spent. What are we supposed to do? )

 Rom 13:13  Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. (The church of God must be seeking the Lord more earnestly, fasting and praying more, studying the Bible more and resolving our  differences to stop strife and envy so that we are united as one in sharing the evertasting gospel to the world.)  

Rom 13:14  But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

It is not enough to know that we are living in the last days. The Bible tells us we are to cast out the works of darkness  and to put on the garment of righteousness the Lord Jesus Christ.and to walk in the light and see through the light of Jesus. This is entering into His rest  then we will not  be pleasing self but to please God and to please our neighbours.

Here again is the occasion to refute the charges that the many Christians harbors  the lies that Ellen White is a false prophet and the SDA church is a cult who do her bidding by her writing which is the spirit of prophecy.

She says in the opening of Lesson 24, the Book Christ’s Object Lesson (COL)*:

“The parable of the wedding garment opens before us a lesson of the highest consequence. By the marriage is represented the union of humanity with divinity; the wedding garment represents the character which all must possess who shall be accounted fit guests for the wedding.” {COL 307.1} 

When the king came in to view the guests, the real character of all was revealed. For every guest at the feast there had been provided a wedding garment. This garment was a gift from the king. By wearing it the guests showed their respect for the giver of the feast. But one man was clothed in his common citizen dress. He had refused to make the preparation required by the king. The garment provided for him at great cost he disdained to wear. Thus he insulted his lord. To the king's demand, "How camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment?" he could answer nothing. He was self-condemned. Then the king said, "Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness."  {COL 309.3} 

By the king's examination of the guests at the feast is represented a work of judgment. The guests at the gospel feast are those who profess to serve God, those whose names are written in the book of life. But not all who profess to be Christians are true disciples. Before the final reward is given, it must be decided who are fitted to share the inheritance of the righteous. This decision must be made prior to the second coming of Christ in the clouds of heaven; for when He comes, His reward is with Him, "to give every man according as his work shall be." Revelation 22:12. Before His coming, then, the character of every man's work will have been determined, and to every one of Christ's followers the reward will have been apportioned according to his deeds.  {COL 310.1}

Her writing do not displace God’ s word but to priovide amplification of the Bible texts for the Church. She is the lesser light leading the church to the Greater  Light , )

2.2. 2.3 Doing God’s Will -Three Angels’ Messages Proclamation

The sons of Issachar had understanding  of the times and they were doing what they were supposed to do in that specific time their brethren would follow God’s commandments at their guidance. Could it be possible that we have not been successful in the proclamation of the three angels’ messages  because we are not living the three angels’ messages . Could it be possible that our understanding of the times is just theoretical but is not practical and therefore we do not give a message that is convincing to the world. Because the world doesn’t see the righteousness  of Jesus in His church and in us as individuals. What gives power to the message is not so much the strong strength of the argument, what gives power to the message is the righteousness of Jesus.

The preaching having the righteousness of Jesus is very different than a preaching with one’s own righteousness.   It is in the working of the Holy Spirit  be it in preaching in the pulpit or in our personal witness in the day to day relationships in our lives. God has called the SDA for a special mission , the mission to present the three angels’messages to the world, the mission to share the love of God,  the love of Jesus with those around us. If we believe that we are living in the last days with the signs we are seeing then we need to consecrate ourselves to God  more. We need to share the love of Jesus not only through word deeds of love and we will be showing to the world that we believe that the end is come.

Soon, very soon, the world will have already hear the truth. The prophecy will be fulfilled with you or without you or me.  This is the vital decision that we must make on whether you are preparing to be a part of God’s messengers, to be used by God and be endowed with the latter rain to preach the message to the world.   

We are to pray that the prophecy of Dan 12:10  may be fulfilled in our life. “Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand. “  May we be clothed with the righteousness of Jesus Christ. May we have His pure character in our lives. There is no time, it is too late already to be sinning, to be pleasing ourselves, to be cherishing sins in our lives. It is time to be serious with Jesus . It is to forsake sin and to be holy for God.

2.2. 2.4 Final Persecution and COVID-19  Perspective

In conjunction with Pr Miranda presentation on the” End is Come Reality” , a most timely and insightful presentation that will convince us that the time is short  is that from Pr Conrad Vine looking into what the Covid -19 pandemic  has brought about . It is his insight on the consequences of  the earthly world leaders led by the President Biden  in combating C-19 with a man made remedy  rather than seeking Jesus remedy  entails persecution of God’s people. It  is revealing in the fulfillment of the end time persecution of God’s people before the second coming of Jesus. He traces the same pattern that has happened throughout history following the Papal persecution in the Dark Ages as in Russia with Marxist Communism ,and  the Hitler Nazi regime in Germany The same phenomena has happened as a result of Covid -19  which has brought about presecution  in the form of loss of freedom with the mandating of the C-19 vaccination. We have seen coercion taking place economically and in employment , physical intimidation and street violence . The C-19 pandemic has revealed to us that the tools are in place for the persecution of God’s end-time people without an executive order and without a supreme court ruling .

2.2.3 The Peace of Jesus ( Jn 14:27)

Providence again enables this presentation to be discussed as it is being presented on this Sabbath, April 2, 2022.

The two world crisis must stir the conscience of the most hardened world leaderCould it be the work of providence bearing a warning and a message. Knowing the truth is not enough if there is no transformation of the person.The inspired word reminds us:  “God works in us by the light of His truth, which lighteneth every man that cometh into the world. The Scriptures refer to the works of God as they are revealed in our world, as so many teachers whose voices have gone out through the whole earth, proclaiming the attributes of God. The mind must see the truth, and the will bend to its claims, when it is presented to us based upon scriptural evidence” (MS 49, 1898).  {6BC 1080.3}

Evidence of Truth lead us to Spiritual Light which is seeing light in the darkness of this corrupt world under the prince of darkness through the light of Jesus. We see Jesus is the way, the truth and the life and by following Him we enter into His rest. Jesus blesses us with His peace , which is not the peace in the world that is piece-meal and fleeting. We can trust that the peace of Jesus will take away all our hearts and minds troubles by looking to Him in faith and in total surrender of self.. 

The world is in shambles and we need hope and peace.  Jesus is the Prince of Peace that is going to be born (Isa 9:6) When He was born( Luk 2:13,14) the angels sung in heaven about the peace that would come to the earth as a result of the coming of this Son of God in human flesh.

However Jesus says He did not come to bring peace on the earth. He came to bring strife in the family relations . This is because when we choose to serve God Satan will cause strife but we can have peace in our hearts. (Luk 12:51-53) The Book of Revelation says there are seven seals The seals portrays Christian history from Apostolic times till the end of the age . The first seal has a white horse and a rider goes out conquering and to conquer. This represents the early church that went out to preach the gospel and thousands upon thousands accepted the gospel. But then the next Red horse following is the horse of persecution.  It is Satan’s reaction to the preaching of the Gospel ( Rev 6:1-4) So the preaching of the gospel brings peace, but it also brings opposition because  Satan hates the gospel.

The verse in Luk 21:16-19 & Mat 24:13,15-22 all portray the sermon of Jesus on the Mount of Olives concerning end time events. Jesus tells us what is going to happen to God’s people during the last period of human history. The abomination of desolation is going to be set up is the Sunday law in place of Sabbath. It obligates and commands everyone to keep Sunday as the day of rest . When this law is enacted, God’s people will be subjected to a stupendous crisis . So the word peace in the Bible does not necessarily mean the absence of strife, depression and problems, This is the general definition of peace which is the outward peace the world understands.  By God’s grace , the other kind of peace is the peace that Jesus gives has another dimension as spoken by Jesus, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”  Jn 14:27.

2.2.3.1 Jesus Stilling The Storm

One of  the  three aspects  is illustrated in the bible story of the storm on the lake. Mk 4:35-41. Jesus only has to say “Peace and be still” and the wind ceased and there was great calm. ( Mk 4:39) There can be all kinds of strife outside our lives.  There can be wars and rumours of wars, famines, pestilence , disease;. but there is no reason for god’s people to worry and to fret because the peace that Jesus gives is there as long as we turn to Him. The disciples were looking at the storm, they were not looking at Jesus, and when they saw that everything was lost and hopeless they turned to Jesus. Jesus calmed the physical storm outside and He calmed the storm that was in their hearts as well.

Jesus spoke these beautiful famous word: “ Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. “Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. “ For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”  Mat 11:28-30. All the troubles in the world that now worry us is because we have not come to Jesus and we don’t realise that Jesus is in control.

2.2.3.2 Jesus Walking on the Sea with Peter

This is the second aspect in the lesson taught in the episode of Peter goes to Jesus walking on the water  Mat 14:23-33. (DA 371-381) Peter had doubted that it was Jesus walking towards them in the water and he wanted a demonstration that this was Jesus.

Mat 14:25  And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. 

Mat 14:26  And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. 

Mat 14:27  But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. 

Mat 14:28  And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. 

Mat 14:29  And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. 

Mat 14:30  But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. 

Mat 14:31  And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? 

Mat 14:32  And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased. 

Mat 14:33  Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God. 

The lesson is that Peter doubted that it was Jesus walking on the water. He focused on the storm instead of on Jesus who could bring tranquility and peace. Isn’t it true that many times we focus on the crisis of our lives, we focus on everything that is happening outside on the turmoil, for example the war cause by President Putin on Ukraine and the consequences of the trade sanction on the whole world.and how we are adversely affected. 

2.2.3.3 Seek First the Kingdom of God

Jesus counsel to us is:

Mat 6:25  Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? 

Mat 6:26  Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? 

Mat 6:27  Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? 

Mat 6:28  And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: 

Mat 6:29  And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 

Mat 6:30  Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? 

Mat 6:31  Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 

Mat 6:32  (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 

Mat 6:33  But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. 

Mat 6:34  Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. 

The main thing is seeking the kingdom of God and its righteousness , i.e seeking Jesus Christ who can bring rest to our souls. But those who are carnally minded have no peace. Those who focuses on this world they have no peace.

2.2.3.3.1Jesus Brings Rest

Paul wrote “For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” Rom 8:6. It is by embracing Jesus Christ who brings rest to our souls  The psalmist tells us those who love the law of God have peace and loving the law means to love Jesus because the law is a written reflection of who Jesus is. The law is a revelation of God’s character. So when we love the law which means that we love Jesusand  our life experiences peace “Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.”  ( Ps 119:165) Therefore to experience peace in our life is to come to Jesus , the peace giver. It doesn’t mean there is not going to be turmoil and agitation outside, but when we have the peace of Jesus in our minds and in our hearts those things don’t rattle our faith . Those things don’t cause us to fear because we know that Jesus is in control and in the end His will be fulfilled.

2.2.3.4 Paul & Silas Prison Conversion of Jailer and Family

Another story concerns the conversion of the Jailer and his family and also probably many of the prisoners who were in the prison as a result of Paul and Silus being thrown into prison in Acts 16:16-34

“As Paul and Silas preached Jesus, a certain woman possessed with a spirit of divination followed them, crying, "These men are the servants of the most high God, which show unto us the way of salvation." Thus she followed the disciples many days. But Paul was grieved; for this crying after them diverted the minds of the people from the truth. Satan's object in leading her to do this was to disgust the people and destroy the influence of the disciples. Paul's spirit was stirred within him, and he turned and said to the spirit, "I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her"; and the evil spirit was rebuked, and left her.  {EW 203.2} 

Her masters were pleased that she cried after the disciples; but when the evil spirit left her, and they saw her a meek disciple of Christ, they were enraged. They had gathered much money by her fortunetelling, and now the hope of their gain was gone. Satan's object was defeated; but his servants caught Paul and Silas, and drew them into the market place, unto the rulers, and to the magistrates,saying, "These men, being Jews, do exceedingly trouble our city." And the multitude rose up together against them, and the magistrates rent off their clothes, and commanded to beat them. And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailer to keep them safely, who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison and made their feet fast in the stocks. But the angels of the Lord accompanied them within the prison walls, and caused their imprisonment to tell to the glory of God, and show to the people that God was in the work, and with His chosen servants.  {EW 204.1} 

At midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God, and suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and I saw that immediately the angel of God loosed everyone's bands. The keeper of the prison, upon awaking and seeing the prison doors open, was affrighted. He thought that the prisoners had escaped, and that he must be punished with death. But as he was about to kill himself, Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, "Do thyself no harm: for we are all here."  {EW 204.2} 

The power of God there convicted the jailer. He called for a light, and springing in, came trembling and fell down before Paul and Silas, and brought them out, and said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" And they said, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house." The keeper of the prison then assembled his whole household, and Paul preached unto them Jesus. Thus the jailer's heart was united to those of his brethren, and he washed their stripes, and he and all his house were baptized that night. He then set food before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house. “ {EW 205.1}

It was the peace in Jesus that Paul and Silas had singing and praying This is something worthwhile accomplished by receiving the peace of Jesus that Jesus give to all those who love Him.

2.2.3.4.1 God Provides Expected End

Everything outside can be in turmoil. There can be things happening that we don’t understand but if we trust in Jesus and don’t allow those external circumstances to take away your peace and  life could be so much fulfilling nnd enriching. We need to keep our eyes focused on the peace giver and not on the turmoil outside.

There is a lot of turmoil in the world today. Don’t let that take away your joy. Don’t let that take away your peace. Remember that God has a plan for you and for my life.( May this be the thought of the Ukrainian people taking shelter in basement without food and water,) If God  allows certain things to happen in our life let us see the silver lining and not gripe and complain “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” . Jer 29:11  God knows the end from the beginning which is impossible for anyone to know.

2.2.3.4.2 Crushing of Satan’s Head Assurance

God gave us the assurance of the victorious end. God spoke to the serpent  “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” Gen 3:15. This reveals to us  that we as God’s people will crush the head of Satan. The end-time generation (Gen Z)  will be so faithful to Jesus in the worst period of human history and in that way they will crush the head of Satan because of their trust in Jesus.

Paul wrote “And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.” Rom 16:20. (It is God that will crush the head of Satan through His faithful last generation people and Satan and sin will be eradicated  from  the universe forever

2.2.3.4.3 Message in World Crisis for World Leaders

These are difficult times.  Many people have lost relatives and friends to C-19 There is the unprovoked invasion of Ukraine by the vastly military might of Russia on the pretax of demilitarisation  and denazification of Ukraine. How tragic it is in this one sided bombardment on the major cities in Ukraine. So many Ukrainians died and are perishing by the wanton bombardments from the Russian armies. Now we learn of the war crimes committed at Bucha. This will not be made public to the Rusian people because Putin has full control of the Nation’s  mass media.  God, our loving and know-all Lord of the universe permitted this to happen as the second warning in the midst of C-19 pandemic. Could this be  to warn the leaders of the world not to glorify in the mistake in trusting the man-made remedy and undermining the free will to decide to getting jabbed  that unless they come to their senses and study the history of Nineveh to know that God sent a special message by Jonah to that wicked city. . . . if the wicked cities would repent as did Nineveh.

Said the king of Nineveh, "Let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands. Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from His fierce anger,  that we perish not? And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that He had said that He would do unto them; and He did it not" [Jonah 3:8-10]. {TSB 165.2} 

May the words of this passage be conveyed to the conscience of President Putin and the leaders of every nations. May they recognise the faithfulness of President Valenskyy to every citizen of Ukraine as a duty and service for God.

2.2.3.4.4 All May Repent is God’s Will

Secondly, The kings and national leaders must know that the sovereign Lord God appoints and disposes of rulers and kings of this world. The worldly leaders must have heard from their huge retinue of highly paid advisors of the testimony of King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon. Babylon the greatest kingdom at that time is no more. King Nebuchadnezzar,a former avid idols worship,  before whom Daniel so often honoured  the name of God, was finally thoroughly converted, and learned to "praise and extol and honour the King of heaven" (RH Jan. 11, 1906).  {4BC 1170.5}

But Let us not let our lives get out of control. Things might not function as we wish. But if we keep our eyes focused on Jesus Christ and if we experience His peace in our mind, in our hearts we will not be bent out of shape we will not lose our faith We will be filled with joy with His peace.

The study of God’s word  teaches us what true peace is all about . Many times we allow the circumstances  outside of us to rattle our faith and to take away our peace.  To overcome this unrest we must daily ask God, the Father, to bring peace , true peace and His grace for us to trust in Him, to all of us who have studied God’s  word.  We don’t ask for the removal of  the turmoil but that the peace of Jesus be  experienced during those period. Our hearts ached for the Ukrainians still surviving in Mariiupol who are now in the worst kind of turmoil and we know that Lord, you have a plan for each of them and they will be rewarded accordingly when they have the faith in Jesus. They could be be the eleventh hour workers, like the thief on the cross.
