The little girl in the Japanese cartoon filmed by Walt Disney is an innocent Japanese girl but the film footage from that film shows she communicates with spirits and they give her power, what to do and who’s out to harm her and she is out to save the world.

15.1 The Invitation

The theme of the great controversy is being played before our eyes every day in the newspapers, magazines, TV and social media entertainment.  But many of us, caught up in the hustle and bustle of life and the pleasures the world are offering, are unaware that every human being since Adam and Eve are caught up in this spiritual (invisible) warfare against evil forces led by Satan which is covered in D14 -Discovering Earth History by Time Travel. D15 Discovery Trip into Modern Day Spiritualism is essentially providing the warning of the dangers that Satan set out traps to ensnare you who unknowingly may have been caught in one or more of his traps. Satan’s deceptions are most deadly as their ensnarement will decide your ultimate future life. Modern day spiritualism is rooted in the Garden of Eden when Satan using the serpent as the medium, successfully mesmerized Eve  and used her as an agent to influence Adam to also doubt God’s word. He has since perfected his art of deception in the form of modern spiritualism. Modern spiritualism encompasses the entertainment industry, martial arts, yoga, and contemplative meditation. 15.1.1 Discovery D15 Overview

1. Modern day spiritualism began in New York, March 31, 1848. Eastern philosophies made great Inroads since 1960 and by 1980 eastern meditation was blended into Christian prayers through  Emergent Churches. Their spiritualistic teachings undermine faith in God and in His Word. Spiritualism originated in the Garden of Eden when Satan caused Adam  and Eve to doubt God’s word and  this will go on to its close as prophesied in the Bible. Spiritualism, like all systems of error, works to a large extent underground. It does not present itself in its true colors to the uninitiated. Once a dupe is caught in its toils he is drawn farther and farther away from God. Modern spiritualism encompasses the entertainment industry, martial arts, yoga, and contemplative meditation.

2. In all martial arts worldwide their roots are founded at Shaolin (Buddhism) temple, China. It has over the last 1000 years also incorporated more openly the philosophies of Taoism, and Hinduism. All the principles of the martial arts are built on self-exaltation and pride.

3. Eric Wilson, master trainer in Chinese Kung Fu, Chi Kung, Tai Chi Chuen, meditation and traditional healing,  Filipino Kali, Burmese Bando, Aikido Judo and others, decided to  quit when he found out  the power he acquired was from the evil spirit. This discovery trip is learning about how he was able to be set free from the spirit hold on him in martial arts by calling on the power of Jesus Christ.

4. When Eric have decided to stop he encountered the demon in his home one late night as something big (10-12 feet tall) and frightening enormous spiritual presence. He knew that to fightwas futile; and to run would have been equally as useless. He dropped on his knees, tears were running down my face, and cried “Jesus save me Jesus!” After what seemed like an eternity something else entered into the room , It was as though a hand grabbed the spirit, and flung it out of the room.  At that moment Eric came to know the Lord as his personal Saviour.

5. It is foretold that Protestant America will clasp hand with Roman power to return to spiritualism. In the same sense, the practice of martial arts is clasping hand with Buddhism, Taoism, Shintoism, and Hinduism.

6. Eric’s tenth Dan master’s house is full of tapestries of Hindu deities and he revealed to Eric that this energy, Chi, the energy in martial art is the same power that many Hollywood stars, singers and musicians used. We use it for fighting and for healing, but they use it to reach their audience. 

7 Three examples are cited: Actor Robin Williams said “ it’s in front of a live audience, you just get this  energy that starts going.. But there’s also that thing- it is possession.” Oprah Winfrey said “ I asked God for grace, and the power of the spirits .“ Michael Landon on the script for Little House on the Prairie:  “I felt my father’s presence with me, enlightening my memories, helping me to commit to paper the feelings I had… I really heard my father speaking to me from the other dimension, filling my mind  with just the right words. The story came so fast and was so right. In three days the script was complete..”  The 60 Minutes show have interviews revealing the association of spirit with Shirley Maclaine, Danzel Washington Bob Dylan, and Nicholas Cage.

8. Walt Disney the originator of Cartoon movies was a 33rd degree Freemason. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella,  Pocahontas, etc.  had witchcraft in it. But he made it cute and child friendly. Similarly, Anime or Manga is a cartoon series which are considered by parents to be harmless for children to watch.  But every anime and manga is based on spiritualism.  They all have demons, devils, demigods, vampires, the undead, witchcraft and shamanism.

9. The same is exhibited in the Chronicles of Nardia, written by C.S. Lewis, Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling and Star Wars. C.S. Lewis (Lutheran) and best friend Tolkien (Roman Catholic, author of the Lord of the Rings -made into movies) subtly promoting the homosexual agenda. They are both members of the Golden Dawn Society, a secret society. They blended mythology and mysticism with the stories of Christianity. Satan is doing the same thing through Eastern mysticism. It’s called Yin and Yang. He is doing away with absolutes (such as fundamental Christianity).  Acupuncture and energy healing is used by Satan to put a question of doubt. If you have a shadow of doubt it’s easy to compromise.

10. The martial arts schools and yoga schools are considered holy grounds of the spirits. This is the counterfeit of God's holy ground and instituted in the rituals of taking off shoes before entering and bowing before your superiors  By bowing, we are giving up ourselves to the universe ( the Dao , Tao)… To give up ourselves means to give up our dualistic ideas and become one.

11. The fact that men have been possessed with demons is even clearly stated in the New Testament. When Satan has undermined faith in the Bible, he directs men to other sources for light and power Those who turn from the plain teaching of Scripture and the convicting power of God’s Holy Spirit are inviting the control of demons. Side by sidewith the preaching of the gospel, agencies are at work which are but the medium of lying spirits. Many a man tampers with these merely from curiosity, but seeing evidence of the working of a more than human power, he is lured on and on, until he is controlled by a will stronger than his own. He cannot . . . without the power and Salvation of the Lord Jesus Christ .. . escape from its mysterious power.

12. Before our Saviour returns, the Bible tells us that every human being will be filled with the spirit of the living God or they will be filled with the evil spirits. There is no neutral ground.  The third angel’s message is the final warning to be given out of love for a world in darkness and about to die in sin.

None but God can subdue the prideof man’s heart. We cannot save ourselves. We cannot regenerate ourselves. The whole Gospel is comprised in learning of Christ, His meekness and lowliness. Justification by faith is the work of God in laying the glory of manin the dust, and doing for man that which it is not in his power to do for himself.

15.2 Modern Spiritualism

Modern spiritualism claims as its birthday March 31, 1848, and the place of its birth Hydesville, Wayne County, New York, U. S. A.; but it is in reality almost as old as the world's history, and will go on to its close.

In times past, in many different cultures, there is evidence of communication with God, Spirit or ancestors all of whom were revered and approached to bestow favours, facilitate healing, guide decisions, and support in times of stress. This was usually undertaken by the wise men and women who were sensitive to the energies and would communicate on behalf of their people, in essence, the forebears of modern day mediums. On the pinnacle of its popularity it was stated  that “In North America there are said to be 16,000,000 adherents; while in the whole world it was computed that in 1894 there were 60,000,000 Modern Spiritualists, with 200 journals - MODERN SPIRITUALISM BRIEFLY TESTED BY SCRIPTURE By Algernon J. Add to these the demonized races of the heathen world; the millions of China, Japan and India; the countless tribes of Africa; the savage hordes of the Sudan; the cannibal inhabitants of the South Sea Islands; and you complete roughly the picture of Spiritualism covering the earth with darkness—Ancient Spiritualism in the East, and Modern Spiritualism in the West, bringing in its train wickedness of every hideous kind.

Spiritualism, like all systems of error, works to a large extent underground. It does not present itself in its true colors to the uninitiated. Once a dupe is caught in its toils he is drawn farther and farther away from God.

Since the 1960s we have witnessed an explosion of new age, eastern mystical, and occult philosophies within our western traditionally Christian culture. Books such as The Shack, blockbuster movies such as the Star Wars series by George Lucas, the new trend of video gaming, and even within the natural medical fields, there has been a growing presence of the philosophies of Buddhism, Taoism, and Hinduism. And beginning in the 80’s, fundamental Christians are watching with horror as the serpent is being welcomed with open arms by many in the Emergent Church and Spiritual Formation movements! Even within many of our own congregations (SDA), the practice of blending Christian faith, and the Word of GOD, with the pagan teachings of Martial Arts, Tai-chi, Qigong, and Yoga, is becoming more widely accepted. Within our schools and churches, programs called “Christian Karate”, “Anointed Warrior”, “Yahweh Yoga”, and “Christoga”, are being introduced. But can we just re-label the pagan arts of the Far East, and expect them to be accepted by Jehovah?

15.2.1 The Foretold Warning

In the last days of this world Christians will also drawn into the fray by subtly changing the label but not the substance has been prophesied in Scriptures and in the inspiredwritings of Ellen G. White.

 “Today there are coming into educational institutions and into the churches everywhere spiritualistic teachings that undermine faith in God and in His Word. The theory that God is an essence (energy, force) pervading all nature is received by many who profess to believe the Scriptures; but, however beautifully clothed, this theory is a most dangerous deception. It misrepresents God and is a dishonor to His greatness and majesty. And it surely tends not only to mislead, but to debase men. Darkness is its element, sensuality its sphere. The result of accepting it is separation from God. And to fallen human nature this means ruin. . . . . The spiritualistic theories concerning God make His Grace of no effect. If God is ‘an essence’ pervading all nature, then He dwells in all men; and in order to attain holiness, man has only to develop the power within him.

These theories, followed to their logical conclusion, sweep away the whole Christian economy*. They do away with the necessity for the atonement and make man his own savior. These theories regarding God makes His Word of no effect, and those who accept them are in great danger of being led finally to look upon the whole Bible as a fiction.” MH 428-430.

(*Note: The Passover prefigured the looking forward to “the Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world” ( Jn 1: 29) in Jesus first advent. We, the sinners, sinful by nature, are all redeemed by the blood of the Lamb. We are to die with Jesus on the Cross, “a death reckoned mine”. But by grace we are “living in Jesus a new life divine.” The privileged last generation are “looking (forward) to Jesus till glory doth shine” as He has promised that “I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. “(Jn 14:3). "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them." Isaiah 8:20. The people of God are directed to the Scriptures as their safeguard against the influence of false teachers and the delusive power of spirits of darkness. Satan employs every possible device to prevent men from obtaining a knowledge of the Bible; for its plain utterances reveal his deceptions. At every revival of God's work the prince of evil is aroused to more intense activity; he is now putting forth his utmost efforts for a final struggle against Christ and His followers. The last great delusion is soon to open before us. Antichrist is to perform his marvelous works in our sight. So closely will the counterfeit resemble the true that it will be impossible to distinguish between them except by the Holy Scriptures. By their testimony every statement and every miracle must be tested.  {GC 593.1} 

Those who endeavor to obey all the commandments of God will be opposed and derided. They can stand only in God. In order to endure the trial before them, they must understand the will of God as revealed in His word; they can honor Him only as they have a right conception of His character, government, and purposes, and act in accordance with them. None but those who have fortified the mind with the truths of the Bible will stand through the last great conflict. To every soul will come the searching test: Shall I obey God rather than men? The decisive hour is even now at hand. Are our feet planted on the rock of God's immutable word? Are we prepared to stand firm in defense of the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus?  {GC 593.2}

“Beware of false prophets (those speaking under false inspiration), which come to you in sheep’s clothing(Christian garments), but inwardly they are ravening wolves. . . Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them!” Matt.7:15-20.

15.2.2 Martial Arts 

To know the Truth, we must look at the spiritual roots of the Tree. For no unclean fountain can bring forth pure water, neither doth a pure spring bring forth bitter water (ref: James 3:10-12). The roots* of all martial arts worldwide are found at Shaolin temple, China. Although this temple was originally one of Chan (Zen) Buddhism, it has over the last 1000 years also incorporated more openly the philosophies of Taoism, and Hinduism. And it is Shaolin’s stated purpose to “evangelize” and spread Chan Buddhism throughout the entire world. Often it is said that the physical practices of the martial arts and yoga can be separated from their spiritual roots. But is this possible? While in the Asian countries there has never been a question of the spirituality of these fighting arts, here in the west these practices are now being marketed under the banner of self-defense, self-discipline, and self-esteem. And it is in these that the character of the dragon is revealed. Self! And it is upon this foundation that all the principles of the martial arts are built - self-exaltation and pride.

Funk & Wagnals says, “The art of karate is more than 1000 years old and originated in the ancient orient, first as monastic training and later as a defense by Chinese peasants against armed bandits.”1 Karate (Japanese, “empty hand”) developed much later than its forerunner, the Chinese Kung Fu which is more diverse and holds closely to its Buddhist philosophical roots.

Bob Larson, a respected Christian author and researcher says, “The original religious philosophy of kung fu dates back as far as 2696 B.C. where it was rooted in the occultic forms of divination known as the I-Ching and the “Book of Changes.” Lao Tzu, the Chinese sage born in 604 B.C., added further demonic

embellishments. His teachings were set forth in a 5,280 word manuscript called Tao te ching, often called simply the tao or the way. He taught that salvation could not be found in prayer but rather by the observance of nature, the natural way.

With the adoption of Taoism, kung fu developed into a complex system of occult practices that included contemplation and breathing exercises. The common doctrine of ki made acupuncture an aid in the quest for health in physical development. Eventually, this led into a search for the mysteries of the alchemy, further tainting kung fu with overtones of demonism. “The next development in the history of kung fu took place when a monk named Bodhidharma brought Buddhism to China in the sixth century A.D. When he discovered the monks sleeping during his lectures, he introduced exercises to assist them in meditation. Known as I-chin Sutura, it combined kung fu with philosophical principles of Zen to develop a highly sophisticated form of weaponless defense. The monks at his Shaolin temple became famous for their savage abilities of defense employed whenever they were attacked in the course of pilgrimages. Eventually two schools of practice evolved: Ch’un Fe (kung fu) based on the hard (external) school of Buddhism and the soft (internal) school of Taoism.

As the martial arts spread beyond the monastery to the fields of war, some of the religious flavor was lost. But the essential undergirding pagan principles have never been completely overshadowed, even unto today.”2 Christians who participate in the martial arts and insist that they do not include any form of occultism in their practice still cannot deny its patently occult roots.)

15.2.2.1 Testimony* of Eric Wilson- Martial Arts Master

Eric Wilson, inductee in the martial arts hall of fame, speaks on this topic based on his exposure to Eastern mysticism for 25 years, He trained for 14 year to get a black belt in Kung Fu involving full contact bare knuckle blows without protection. He is trained in Chinese Kung Fu, Chi Kung, Tai Chi Chuen, meditation and traditional healing, He was also told by his last grandmaster to learn other martial arts and not just one. His next grandmaster was a tenth Dan in two systems of Kung-Fu which was very rare since it takes forty years to attain a tenth Dan or degree in one system. He was also a master healer in Chi Kung. The devil does operate through this grand master.  So Eric excel led in Filipino Kali, Burmese Bando, Aikido Judo and others. However Eric raised up by SDA mother, still attended Sabbath for two-three hours every week  while practicing these Eastern arts six days of ten -twelve daily a week.  In 2007, the Lord opened his eyes and set him free. He burned all his black belts and training materials. God told him we fight not against flesh and blood and the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, they are spiritual.

15.2.2.1.1.1 Facing the Reality of Hidden Power

It was in his training in the Chinese art of Tai Chi Chuen, Ba Kua Chuen and Chi Kung  under a tenth Dan grandmaster in two systems- Kung –Fu and Chi Kung (a system of martial and medical development of Chi ( internal) power and energy . This same source of internal energy is possessed by modern day musicians ( Clapton, Hendriks and legends of Rock n Roll). To the beginner, Chi is known simply as internal strength. At the intermediate it is breath. But, at the final level Chi is revealed as spirit. It is this spiritual energy that is manifested in a thousand different forms. To the martial arts it is used for speed and power. To the holistic healer it is used as a channel of vibrational energy to heal. For the corporate executive and leaders  it is used to influence and manipulate those beneath them. The actor uses it to mesmerize their audiences. While for the musician it is to inspire and quicken their performances and control the minds and emotions of their listeners.  In visiting his master home Eric was amazed to see tall life size tapestries of Hindu gods and deities in every room, the hidden secret behind the master’s power. He was asked if all martial arts began at Shaolin then why do we see such different expression in the art.  It sounded a warning bell in his mind based on Scriptures that he was taught in his childhood. understanding of the word of God.

15.2.2.1.1.2 The Need to Verify the Truth

He had achieved everything in the martial arts in 2007. While teaching his class in Ba Kua Chuen , very much like Tai Chi, slow precise movements, deep breathing, internal meditation focusing on within in doing the movements. As he looked into the eyes of his students to see if they were really tapping into that power that the martial arts is supposed to reveal.  They were actually in a trance and sweating profusely (unusual because there were no great exertion)  Eric’s mind was taken above the circle with him in the centre  and he saw a design of the Dojo, a circle with a dot in the centre- the symbol in all martial arts literatures. He researched it later at home and found the same symbol in t all the different styles.  The symbol meant the Sun god, the Dao, Yin and Yang, which all martial arts are invoking. He gave his most senior students the project to find out about the symbol. Each one of his students  regardless of the source (history books, Aztec and Mayan books, Egyptian hieroglyphics, Greek, Roman, Babylonian, tattoo books, Wicca and Witchcraft books). Eric decided that he would stop the class and most of them left him. He made further study that night and memories of his mother’s apprehension ( SDA) about the spiritual forces that enabled the abilities in the arts he had practiced that also wrought in his family destruction. But now the Lord was calling him to come home . This revealed to my wife and children the power of his unfailing word and restoring sight to my blindness  and the chain he was bounds. As the Lord was reuniting his family he stopped teaching the internal arts, Tai Chi, Chi Kung, Ba Kua and even Shaolin Kung Fu. He was trying to separate the physical from the spiritual aspect. At the end of seven month he realized that the spiritual root could not be separated and he lost 40% of students.

15.2.2.1.1.3 Encounter with the Dragon

He related this encounter with the devil. “One night, I arrived home at almost midnight, after a long day of teaching both private and group classes; the more than 15 hours of training had taken its toll of my energy. The last class that night had been reserved for my advanced students in the arts. Now it was late, and I was exhausted. My wife and two children were upstairs in bed, and I was finally alone.

I set my gym bag down in thekitchen doorway, and stepped toward the icebox to quench my thirst, when. . .Suddenly, I stopped dead in my tracks. The hair on the back of my neck stood on end, cold chills ran all across the surface of my body, and I realized I was not alone. A terror gripped me such as I had never known before. I sensed a  frightening, terribly evil presence behind me, something big ( felt like 10-12 feet tall, something frightening and terribly evil! In that moment all these thoughts, the teaching of the masters and the things I had read was racing through my mind.  After more than 24 years of training in the martial arts, and full-contact fighting, I had grown unafraid of anything, human or otherwise. But now, this enormous presence which stood towering behind me, caused me to doubt . . . I was very afraid! None of my training had prepared me for this! I realized my helplessness Thoughts race through my mind . . . Fight or run? Combat training, and the sayings of the old masters I had studied under, flashed vividly in my memory; but I knew in that moment, to fightwas futile; and to run would have been equally as useless. What I was feeling offered no hope of victory. I was scared.

15.2.2.1.1.3.1 Deliverance from the Dragon

At that moment I heard a name sounding in my ears, the name of Jesus Christ. As I heard that name there was a spark of hope. I had the thought whether He would save me even after everything that I had done., the pain and hurt I had caused my family and others. Will He save and deliver me? ( Act 2: 21)

Suddenly, I fell to my knees, tears were running down my face, as it dawned upon my darkened mind, that after decades of training under these men of renown, I was helpless ! “I cried out Jesus save me”Jesus! I knew, because I knew, He was my only Hope! That Seed which had been planted in my heart as a child so long ago, was now reaching for the Light! I don’t know how long I cried. I could still feel the presence behind me and I just kept calling on the name of Jesus Christ.   After what seemed like an eternity I felt something else entered into the room . It was as though a hand grabbed thing thing behind me, the spirit, and flung it out of the room.  At that moment I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour.

As I knelt there on our kitchen floor, the power and majesty of our LORD was revealed to me like never before! For His Word promises us, “Look unto Me, and be ye saved (delivered, set free, rescued, healed and made whole), all the ends of the earth: for I Am God, and there is none else. For I have sworn by Myself, the Word is gone out of My mouth in Righteousness, and shall not return, That unto Me every knee shall bow, and every tongue confess... both of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth !” Isa. 45:22-23, Rom. 14:11 & Phil. 2:10-11.

And that same Word which created the heavens, the earth, and the sea, will not return unto Him void!

This discovery trip will outline the dangers of spiritualism in the entertainment world of Hollywood and in martial arts (covered in Part 1). He, more importantly, provides the way of escape by seeking the truth in the Word of God and the promise of deliverance to everyone who will hear and by faith claim Jesus Christ as the Lord and Saviour of the world. 

15.2.2.2.1 The Counterfeit of Truth (Video marker 9:26-18:52)

Rev 16:12-14 is talking about spirits referring to the fallen angels, and the word angels literally means messengers or messages.  These are messages coming from the Dragon, the beast and the false prophets. These spirits are the counterfeits to the three angels who give the last message of warning to the world In Rev 14. The false prophets are the apostate Protestant, the beast which is Roman Catholicism, and the Dragon, a symbol of spiritualism and mysticism. 

Jesus said in His last prayer at Gethsemane that “they might be one in us.” Satan is doing the same thing. He is bringing all the world together as one. Ellen White has foretold :

1. Clasping hand with Buddhism, Taoism, Shintoism, Hinduism

“When Protestantism shall stretch her hand across the gulf to grasp the hand of the Roman power, when she shall reach over the abyss to clasp hands with Spiritualism, when, under the influence of this threefold union, our country shall repudiate every principle of its Constitution as a Protestant and Republican government, and shall make provision for the propagation of papal falsehoods and delusions, then we may know that the time has come for the marvelous working of Satan, and that the end is near.”--Testimonies, vol. 5, p. 451.

It is clear that Protestantism is coming back to Rome. They have something in common and Ellen White tells us what that is, Pantheism, the believe in a God that is pantheistic. They teach that God is in everything, trees, flowers, and even inanimate objects. That came in the SDA church through John Harvey Kellogg who wrote the “Living Temple”.  Mrs. White said this is dangerous. So what Satan is doing through pantheism the idea of an energy where all the world will say is God. This is the manifestation of clasping hand with Buddhism, Taoism, Shintoism, Hinduism through the practice of martial arts.

2. Spiritualism in America (18:52-23:24)

Ellen White spoke about the rapping with the Fox sisters ( 1848-1890) in New England states as the beginning of modern spiritualism in America,  which coincided at the same time the SDA movement was beginning - 1844 the Great awakening, 1888 the message of righteousness by faith. Two sisters, Margaretta and Catherine Fox, established intelligent communication with a spirit entity which had been responsible for noisy knockings in their home. The Ouija Board, developed by Elijah Bond in July 1,1890, gave permission for the devil to come into the home where the board is located.  Madame H.P. Blavatsky (1831-1891) co-founder of Theosophical Society in upper New England started when Ellen was writing about the dangers of theosophy in Eastern religion. It was all based on Hinduism where she borrowed the symbol of the swastika – symbol for the Sun God ( Hitler also borrowed it). People wearing that symbol are invoking those spirits to come and empower their endeavors. These people came when God is raising up His people to give the three angels messages.

Spiritism is the study of communication with spirit entities, introduced into the Christian West by a man named Allen Kardec ( 1804-1869).

Spiritualism – the practice of communicating with the dead usually through the use of a medium or a channel.

These two terms are used interchangeably although all spiritualism is Spiritism, but not all Spiritism has to be spiritualism. If you are talking to a dead grandma or grandpa, you are talking to a demon. Spiritualism involves a way of communication with the dead (demons)(as in Media- TV, movies, computers.. ) Almost every one of the founders of today’s modern media technology was trying to communicate with a dead loved one.

3. Two Mysteries in the New Testament (23: 24- 33:30)

It was written over a hundred years ago by Ellen White that “As we near the close of time, there will be greater and still greater external parade of heathen power; heathen deities will manifest their signal power, and will exhibit themselves before the cities of the world; and this delineation has already begun to be fulfilled. …(By a variety of images the Lord Jesus represented to John the wicked character and seductive influence of those who have been distinguished for their persecution of God's people.)  All need wisdom carefully to search out the mystery of iniquity that figures so largely in the winding up of this earth's history. . . . (In the very time in which we live, the Lord has called His people and has given them a message to bear. He has called them to expose the wickedness of the man of sin who has made the Sunday law a distinctive power, who has thought to change times and laws, and to oppress the people of God who stand firmly to honor Him by keeping the only true Sabbath, the Sabbath of creation, as holy unto the Lord.)  {TM 117.5} 

There are two mysteries that are spoken of in the New Testament; the mystery of Godliness and the mystery of iniquity.  The Bible tell us that the mystery of Godliness is God manifest in the flesh and the mystery of iniquity has to be the opposite. It is Satan and his fallen angels manifest in human flesh. Eric refers to his grandmaster in Chinese Kung-Fu for 45years He had more ability than any other man ERic had trained under. Both of his grandmasteris Caucasian.  Eric had seen the power of his grandmaster  (190 lbs, 6’ 1’’Causcasian) who picked up a 80-90 pound  punching bag  in one hand shook it in the air to emphasize that his black belt students were not putting their heart in their training. At another time, Eric had brought two black belt trained under him who wanted to meet his second grandmaster. The grandmaster told them to get a staff and to hold it with both hands on one end and he held it with two fingers. They could not push him at all and while standing on one leg he knocked them both off the floor. It was not possible by human power. There were spirits empowering him.

One day when Eric visited him to train one of his black belts came running into the school and delivered a calligraphy r with the Chinese word Qi on it. Eric was fifth Dan black belt then having trained for 20 years. Eric asked him the meaning and he looked right in my eyes and said the easiest way to translate it in English is “it is the devil that is in the details.” That is where the power came from. He came to my school to do a seminar. Eric was nervous (as it was the year that the Saviour set him free) because he knew where the power was coming from. He prayed “ Lord don’t let anything have power here that is not of you. The grandmaster tried to do many things with Chi but nothing he did works that day and he did not understand. I understood for Greater that is in He that is in us.

15.2.2.2.2 The Entertainer’s Power (33:31-47:10)

One night when I was training with him, other black belts were there and it got very, very, late. Everybody was tired, but I was not. He was just talking about conspiracy, Illuminati, Freemasonry and all that stuff. Everybody was tired, they didn’t want to hear it, but they couldn’t leave and then he said something. “ if you want to understand this energy, Chi, the energy we strive to tap,  this is the same power that many Hollywood stars, singers and musicians used. We use it for fighting and for healing, but they use it to reach their audience.  He gave examples of Eric Clapton, Jimmy Hendrix, as God was trying to wake me up. And then when I began working on a film called “the Dragon Revealed” I began to see what he was talking about.  It was a red flag to Eric. He should have heard God and walked away and never went back but he dismissed it and didn’t want to hear because he had been doing this for so many years and in martial arts there is no retirement and the older you get the stronger  you get. He just questioned how can the actor be using the same power, Qi, (Prana - Hindu, mana –Polynesian, vibrational energy - New Ager or Oregon energy.)He found out by research the truth later after he yielded to Christ.

1. Actor Robin Williams

Actor Robin Williams, world renowned actor and stand-up comedian, said, “Yeah! Literally, it’s like possession, all of a sudden you’re in, and because it’s in front of a live audience, you just get this  energy that starts going.. But there’s also that thing- it is possession. In the old days you will be burned for it… But there is something empowering about it.

I mean, it is a place where you are totally- it is a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde where you really can become this other force. ( You change from one person to another. Daniel in Scripture said that the antichrist would worship a god of forces.)  Maybe that’s why I don’t need to play evil characters ( in movies) , ‘Cause something=me on stage you can cross that line and come back… “ – Robin Williams by James Kaplan, US weekly, Jan 1999 . He eventually ended his life by committing suicide. The same thing happened to many of the practitioner of martial arts, yoga, Chi Kung, Kung-fu and even in Karate that have tapped into the higher levels  have lost their mind and committed suicide although  it was seldom reported.

2. Oprah Winfrey

Oprah Winfrey said “ I asked God for grace, and the power of the spirits.. Calling on you. Calling on you… I really believe I can call her (the spirit) up, Her and many others.”- Journey to Beloved, p 54. (The true definition of grace is the divine influence upon the heart and its reflection as seen in the life. This is God’s power  not just unmerited favour, but His power on the heart and its reflection seen in your life. Opray is calling on the spirits instead.)

Oprah Winfrey calls these her ‘go there’ moments, spiritual episodes of divine guidance that far transcends the chatty exchanges with her studio audiences.. Winfrey says that she has come to know each of them personally and call them in at will to guide her in her work.”- “Daring to Go There” Times Magazine, June 24, 2001. (It is frightening that many millions of people go to her church every week whether it is radio, television or online.)

3. Michael Landen

Then we have Michael Landen, Little House on the Prairie TV series producer. This show and Walt Disney were the only two shows allowed in the godly household. 

“ I felt my father’s presence with me, enlightening my memories, helping me to commit to paper the feelings I had… I really heard my father speaking to me from the other dimension, filling my mind  with just the right words.

The story came so fast and was so right. In three days the script was complete..” – Michael Landon.- Little House on the Prairie. It was my parents would thought this is a good show . His daughter said that some nights when they were trying to write that show ,  he would go into his room alone, closed the door and stay up all night and come out the next morning with the whole show written. This cannot be done by human power.

These are only a few examples. The clip from 60 Minutes  (43:47 had interviews to expose Holly wood stars  show   Shirley Maclaine, Danzel Washington saying the spirit gave him the power, Bob Dylan, and Nicholas Cage calling on the spirits of Shamanism. Almost all of the Hollywood stars are inspired by fallen angels.

15.2.2.2.2.1 Satan’s Quest for Human Souls

Inspired writing has stated:For ages Satan with his evil angels had been seeking to control the bodies and the souls of men, to bring upon them sin and suffering.—DA 257. {TA 180.1}  

The deception of sin had reached its height [by the time Christ began His ministry]. All the agencies for depraving the souls of men had been put in operation. . . . Satanic agencies were incorporated with men. The bodies of human beings, made for the dwelling place of God, had become the habitation of demons. (The senses, the nerves, the passions, the organs of men, were worked by supernatural agencies in the indulgence of the vilest lust. The very stamp of demons was impressed upon the countenances of men. Human faces reflected the expression of the legions of evil with which they were possessed. . . .) {TA 180.2}

Satan was exulting that he had succeeded in debasing the image of God in humanity. (Then Jesus came to restore in man the image of his Maker. . . . He came to expel the demons that had controlled the will. He came to lift us up from the dust, to reshape the marred character after the pattern of His divine character, and make it beautiful with His own glory).—DA 36-38. {TA 180.3}

15.2.2.2.2.2 Danger of Ignoring The Bible

“Yea, hath God really said ?. . .Ye shall not surely die. For God (Elohim) doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil (yin and yang)?” Gen. 3:1-5.

“When Satan has undermined faith in the Bible, he directs men to other sources for light and power. Thus he insinuates himself. Those who turn from the plain teaching of Scripture and the convicting power of God’s Holy Spirit are inviting the control of demons. Criticism and speculationconcerning the Scriptures have opened theway for Spiritism and Theosophy – thosemodernized forms of ancient heathenism—togain a foothold even in the professed churchesof our Lord Jesus Christ . . . . Side by side with the preaching of the gospel, agencies are at work which are but the medium of lying spirits. Many a man tampers with these merely from curiosity, but seeing evidence of the working of a more than human power, he is lured on and on, until he is controlled by a will stronger than his own. He cannot . . . without the power and Salvation of the Lord Jesus Christ .. . escape from its mysterious power.” DA 258.

15.2.2.2.2.2.1 The Alpha of Apostasy

It is this fruit from the forbidden tree, which the serpent is using to entice the people of God once again, right on the borders of the heavenly Canaan. For this is the ultimate goal of all the eastern healing and martial arts - enlightenment (nirvana)! Mankind is being led in preparation for the greatest deception of these final days just before Christ Jesus’ second advent in the clouds of glory. And of this we have been faithfully warned by the LORD through His servant. The Creator is being portrayed not as a Living Divine Being, but as an “energy” or “force” to be used by us, for the final step in the evolution of mankind. Ellen White spoke of this Pantheism as it was presented in the writings of Kellogg, as the Alpha of apostasy. And she warned that the Omega would be of a most startling nature.

“I call upon those who have been connected with these binding influences to break the yoke to which they havelong submitted, and stand as free men in Christ. Nothing but a determined effort will break the spell that is uponthem. Be not deceived; many will depart from the faith,giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines (teachings)of devils. We have now before us the alpha of this danger. The omega will be of a most startling nature.” 1SM 197. (It is possible that the omega of apostasy is already manifested by way of contemplative meditation and prayer. The death of Protestant Reform in October 31, 2017 with the formation of the one world religion under Papacy is its fruit.)

1. The “Divine Spark”

This theory which makes God and Christ a “nonentity” is verily the same which is now known throughout the world as the “divine spark” within every human being; awaiting to be awakened by us through the eastern practices of martial arts, tai-chi, yoga, contemplative prayer, mantras, labyrinth walking, and other forms of mysticism. That which remains unrevealed until the advanced stages of training is the true meaning of this union between “heaven and earth” (yin and yang). For it is literally the “prince of the power of the air, the spirit which now worketh in the children of disobedience” (Eph. 2:2), which is being joined to men, women, and little children, through the practice of these occult arts. For even the word “yoga”, means to yoke, or join as one with the hindu gods of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva, the destroyer!

2. Pleasing Forms of Spiritism

“There are many who shrink with horror from the thought of consulting spirit mediums, but who are attracted by more pleasing forms of spiritism, such as the Emmanuel movement. Still others are led astray by the teachings of Christian Science, and by the mysticism of Theosophy and other Oriental religions. And there are not a few, even in this Christian age,who go to these healers, instead of trusting in the power of the Living God . . . The mother, watching by the sick bed of her child, exclaims, “I can do no more! Is there no physician who has power to restore my child?” She is told of the wonderful cures performed by some clairvoyant o rmagnetic healer, and she trusts her dear one to his charge, placing it as verily in the hand of Satan as if he were standing by her side. In many instances the future life of the child is controlled by a satanic power, which it seems impossible to break.” RH, January 15, 1914 par. 11.

3. Worshipping the Wrong Spirit

Even if one attempts to set aside the spiritual aspects of the martial arts, we as Christians are still faced with a great dilemma. For, do we believe the Word of God, and obey it’s instructions, or do we compromise Jehovah’s precepts, and ignore His Voice in those areas of our lives we are yet unwilling to surrender to Him?

For the Word of God says, “Thou shalt have no other gods (mighty ones) before Me (in my place) . . . thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve (obey) them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate Me.” Yet, in almost all martial styles, you are required to bow before your superiors.

The fact that men have been possessed with demons is clearly stated in the New Testament.( The persons thus afflicted were not merely suffering with disease from natural causes. )Christ had perfect understanding of that with which He was dealing, and He recognized the direct presence and agency of evil spirits.—4SP 332. {TA 181.1}

15.2.2.2.2.2.2 Heed  the Final Warning (47:10-51:58)

The Book of Revelation says in Rev 18: 1-4: “And after these things ( Rev 14) I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory. “ And he cried mightily with a strong voice ( a Loud Cry), saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. “For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. “And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.”  

Before our Saviour returns, the Bible tells us that every human being will be filled with the spirit of the living God or they will be filled with the evil spirits. There is no neutral ground.  Ellen White says some of these spirits have names like selfishness, bitterness, anger, rage, lust and even appetite. Christ kept Judas closest to Him seeking to win his heart. He knew that Judas had a spirit in him. The Bible says don’t you know that to whom you yield yourself as a servant to obey that’s whose slave you become. For instance, it could be the battle against appetite as your master. Ellen White had said that the demon of appetite is one of the most difficult to overcome. It is the first attack that Satan waged against Adam and Eve in Eden where we lose God dwelling inside of us. It was the first temptation that he brought against Christ in the wilderness. The reason she said was not to allow us to live healthier lives but that those who do not allow Christ to do what He wants to do through the health message will not be able to comprehend the message of righteousness by faith.  In encountering any  such situation of temptations we have to ask Christ to give us His victory over our intemperance.  Now is the time we must ask Christ to cleanse his temple of our heart as self is our greatest enemy.

 15.2.2.2.3 Movies of Hollywood (52:00- 59:30)

In the garden, Satan subtly puts a shadow of doubt on God’s word saying “ hath God said….Ye shall not surely die: ..” causing Eve to eat the forbidden fruit. The same is exhibited in the Chronicles of Nardia, written by C.S. Lewis, Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling  and Star Wars. C.s Lewis a professed Christian  (Lutheran)had a best friend , Tolkien, ( a Roman Catholic) author of the Lord of the Rings (made into movies) who is subtly promoting the homosexual agenda. They are both members of the Golden Dawn Society, a secret society. Both of them worked to blend mythology and mysticism with the stories of Christianity. With the lion and the witch, there is the spell casting, there’s demons, animals mixed with humans which is so much about paganism.  In Lewis and the Hobbit we have good witchcraft. In Sar wars you have a power that they call The Force.  Both use it, the good guys the Jedi for good and the SIF use it for bad. The Wizard of OZ portrays the wicked witch had a long green nose and she was ugly and smelly.  Whereas there is the beautiful witch from the East wearing pink and is so nice and friendly. Witchcraft is unquestionably demonic. Satan is doing the same thing through Eastern mysticism. It’s called Yin and Yang. It is not what it is . It’s how you use it that makes it right and wrong. He is doing away with absolutes (such as fundamental Christianity).  Acupuncture and energy healing is used by Satan to put a question of doubt. If you have a shadow of doubt it’s easy to compromise.

Anime or Manga is a cartoon series which are considered by parents to be harmless for children to watch.  But read the back of the DVD for every anime and manga is based on spiritualism.  They all have demons, devils, demigods, vampires, the undead, witchcraft and shamanism.  These are in cartoons that are not about the immoral and sensual themes. You don’t need to see evil to know it is evil. You need to see good and then when you see evil you will recognize it for what it is for “the truth shall make you free” (Jn 8:32). The little girl in the Japanese cartoon filmed by Walt Disney is an innocent Japanese girl but the film footage from that film   shows she communicates with spirits and they give her power, what to do and who’s  is out to harm her and she is out to save the world.

Walt Disney the originator of Cartoon movies was a 33rd degree Freemason. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella,  Pocahontas, etc had witchcraft in it. But he made it cute and child friendly.

15.2.2.2.3.1 Removal of Faith in God (59:31- 1:06:00)

Today, Satan is seeking through every avenue possible to destroy faith in the Word of God ( righteousness by faith through grace which Satan has to destroy)… For he knows that only through living (active) faith, is the restoration of man again into the image and likeness of God possible! (Paul said “Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”-2 Pet 1:4. Nature is different from character. Two dogs may have different character, one can be vicious and the other friendly but by nature they are canine. The nature of deity according to the Bible tells us that God alone hath immortality (1 Tim 6:16). God has given us eternal life and this life is in His Son . The 144,00 who are the living saints  when Christ  returns have learnt to believe God’s promise that they death has no dominion over them. Paul too have the faith in God’s promise when he was bitten by the viper took the viper and threw it into the fire. He did not die and kept on preaching. Jesus tell s us that sin does not have dominion over you so neither does death. The whole world will turn upside down if we took hold of God’s word now.  Ellen White said the sick will be healed and the dead will be raised and demons will be cast out. She said the church would be a terror to her enemies.  If we would learn to obey God will show His glory now!

15.2.2.2.3.1.1 Ritual Observance (1;06:00- 1:22:45)

“And God spake all these Words saying… Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them nor serve them, for I am the LORD thy God am a jealous God.. for I AM married unto you!” ( Exo 20:1-5; Jer 3:14; 31:32) God is jealous for you because He is married to you. He is jealous for our affection.  In the earthly spiritual world we have the European and American martial arts masters bowing before the Abbot, the Grand- Grand- Grand Masterof the Shaolin Temple in China.  They are asking for his blessingand if he is willing speaks words over them and sometimes he’ll lay a hand on them and give his blessing on their art and upon their studios. Then the spirits from Shaolin will empower them.

1. The Bow-in Ceremony

Here are quotes from the dark side: “The bow-in ceremony is based on a Shinto ritual banishing evil spirits and inviting the presence of the Gods. However, in the context of training students may think of this ritual as banishing their own personal demons, cleaning the mind of negative or distracting thoughts and preparing for training… The words spoken during the bow-in and bow-out ceremony, “shikin haramitsu daikomyo,” can be translated as “in every moment, another chance for enlightenment…” – Bujinkan Dojo. (The spirit there will tell the spirit bordering the individual ( spirit of anger, depression , etc) who walks in to leave him alone while he is here so that he will want to come back again. Satan talks to you in your voice so you’ll think that the thoughts are your thoughts, because you will be frightened if you know it is Satan’s thoughts. This was the manner in which Eric broke up with his in 2003 as the devil worked on his wife and him causing their divorce. They were reconciled in 2007 by the faith of the wife who claimed God’s promise on their marriage being made in heaven and is inseparable.

“ By bowing, we are giving up ourselves to the universe ( the Dao , Tao)… To give up ourselves means to give up our dualistic ideas and become one. When you become one with everything that exists, you find the true meaning of being…”

The symbol called an aura Boris is a serpent swallowing its tail, the Japanese version called an Enso.

The martial arts schools and yoga schools are considered holy grounds of the spirits. This is the counterfeit of God's holy ground where Moses was told  “ Put off they shoes from thy feet, for the place where thou standest is holy ground..” Exo 3: 1-5.  Eric recounted the experience where he was told to take off his shoes on entering an Hindu apartment that was filled with idols. Eric solicited the reason from the Indian lady that the gods that she worshiped demand the shoes to be taken off as this is their holy ground.

“ Train in the Dojo as often as you can. Consider it to be a sacred place… Do not take advantage of your privilege or position, consider the Dojo to be a Sensei’s home…

This place of honor, and learning, think of it as an holy ground… give your best effort to learn the customs, words, traditions, and the history of your art.

This is an oriental art, you must act as if you were there… “

2. Taking off Shoes

“I don’t think people really know why they’re taking their shoes off, other than they were told to.  Most instructors I asked played it safe and said, “Its tradition”… just don’t ask. “What tradition?” Because you’ll be back where you started.

The way Eric presents his answer, when the students asks “Why do we take off our shoes?” is a longer version of this … “The students removes his shoes to yield to the instructor’s right to lead .. the instructor removes his shoes because he too yields to a higher power.”  In martial arts, there is a hierarchy* – black belt, brown belt, red belt , blur, green , brown and white. The master is over the black belt, the grand master in their respective levels up to eighth Dan level, over the master. The reason lineage is so important because they know that only through correct lineage can spirit be passed. This is referred to as familiar spirit in the Bible. They have been living as family for a few generations and they don’t want to go out and find a new family to start all over again. The black belt certificate bears a seal of the master and his signature. Some certificates can have four or five masters who are present at the award ceremony. This means more power from the spirits of the respective masters.  The master loved to be admired and called master. This is the trait that Jesus taught not to do ( Mat 23:8, 5-7)

(*Martial Hierarchy- All martial styles are based on a system of ranking (or Nicolaitanism). There are many ranks of students, ranging from white belt to red and brown; then levels of discipleship (usually black belt thru 5th degree), and then the masters, and grandmasters. At the beginning levels, training is primarily focused on the physical attributes and techniques; then in the intermediate levels the student is introduced to the concept of “Chi” (Ki), or “internal strength”. This power, or energy, is first taught through breath control during kata, or forms with the “Kia!” yell so familiar to karate styles world wide. Training then progresses through meditation and deep breathing exercises. At the advanced levels this “energy” is channeled and focused into the demonstration of martial power; such as breaking of boards, brick or stone. And finally, at the highest levels, this same power is used in esoteric skills such as clairvoyance, divination, telepathy, telekinesis, astral travel, and energy healing!

At each level the student is required to submit their will to that of their guru or master. While instructor, in turn, surrenders his will to the master or grandmaster above him. In this way a pyramid is built, a tower as in the days of Babel, reaching once again to the heavens. Each student and teacher receives honour, rank and inspiration (in-spirit-ation) from the spiritual powers influencing the master above him. And thus the tower is built, each man and every brick joined in spiritual bonds unseen by the human eye!)

“Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants (slaves) ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto Righteousness!” Rom. 6:16.)

The word “sensei” in Japanese means ‘ a man who has been twice born’ (actually first born) to claim to be like Jesus. Jesus told Nicodemus, a faithful Sanhedrin , that for him to enter the kingdom of God  he must be born again.

“And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.”- Mat 23:9. This verse enable us to know that  no human being can be so call as is the case in the Roman Church practice.

15.2.2.2.3.2 Remedy and Restoration in Jesus (1:22:45 - 1:28:25)

The moral teachings  of Jesus as stated in Matt 5:38-42 concerns our routine encounter which is related to upholding our pride such as when you accidentally cut somebody off and you get into their parking lot and they are fuming mad and come over to curse you in the face and want to start a fist fight. Let them slap you or spit in your face, wipe it off and walk away. For most men, if he is trained in self defence it would be awfully hard to do. Actually the art of self defence  teaches  when some one punches you  is to step back and block and yell “kiya” but it does not stop there.  The moment your arm touches your opponent’s arm its offence and there is going to be a fight. The moment you block , make contact, the next thing is to attack. All the masters will tell you the only way to win ii a street fight is to be more brutal and aggressive than your attacker.  Suppressing our pride is the one thing that Jesus did as his examples for us. The one thing we have to die to is self.  Therefore, the secular courses in Tai Chi, self-defence, self- confidence,  self-esteem,  self- control and self-discipline  are the antithesis to the one thing above every other to set us free that is of dying to our carnal selfishness.

And it is this spirit, the spirit of “Bushido”, which pervades all the combative arts. In the Japanese styles of Judo, Aikido, Kendo and Jujutsu, the word literally means, “the martial or warrior spirit”. And this will be the spirit of all who follow the dragon, that first rebel who fought against Jehovah’s Kingdom and His Son! And to this very day, the battle rages for every man, woman, and child on planet earth. The struggle is for the will and mind of all mankind. The lines are being drawn; two great armies are being prepared for the last great battle in the Conflict of the Ages!

“Satan delights in war, for it excites the worst passions of the soul and then sweeps into eternity its victims steeped in vice and blood. It is his object to incite the nations to war against one another, for he can thus divert the minds of the people from the work of preparation to stand in the day of Almighty God.” GC 589.

1. Who do you bow down to?

Even if one attempts to set aside the spiritual aspects of the martial arts, we as Christians are still faced with a great dilemma. For do we believe the Word of God, and obey it’s instructions, or do we compromise Jehovah’s precepts, and ignore His Voice in those areas of our lives we are yet unwilling to surrender to Him?

For the Word of God says, “Thou shalt have no other gods (mighty ones) before Me (in my place) . . . thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve (obey) them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate Me.” Yet, in almost all martial styles, you are required to bow before your superiors.

The Word of the LORD says, “And be not ye called Rabbi: for One is your Master, even Christ; and ye are all brethren. And call no man your Father upon the earth: for One is your Father, which is in heaven. Neither be ye called masters: for One is your Master, even Christ !” Yet, within the martial arts, this title is given to every man who achieves the rank of 6th Dan or above.

2. Turn the other cheek

And our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ says, “Resist not evil (don’t push back) ; but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if any man will sue thee at the law (court), and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also . . . .Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you . . . that ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven . . . !” Matt. 5:39-45.

“Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is Mine, I will repay, saith the Lord !” Rom. 12:19-21.

Yet, in the practice of martial arts (often termed “self-defense”), every student is taught that when an enemy strikes, you are to block, and then counter. For at the moment of confrontation, the art reveals its true nature - one of offense, pride, violence and retaliation.)

“None but God can subdue the pride of man’s heart. We cannot save ourselves. We cannot regenerate (beget) ourselves. In the heavenly courts there will be no song sung, To me that loved myself, and washed myself, redeemed myself, unto me be glory and honor, blessing and praise. But this is the keynote of the song that is sung by many here in this world. They do not know what it means to be meek and lowly in heart; and they do not mean to know this, if they can avoid it. The whole Gospel is comprised in learning of Christ, His meekness and lowliness. What is justification by faith? It is the work of God in laying the glory of man in the dust, and doing for man that which it is not in his power to do for himself.” TM 456.

“The enemy is buying souls today very cheap. ‘Ye have sold yourselves for nought,’ is the language of Scripture. One is selling his soul for the world’s applause, another for money; one to gratify base passions, another for worldly amusement. Such bargains are made daily. Satan is bidding for the purchase of Christ’s blood and buying them cheap, notwithstanding the infinite price which has been paid to ransom them.”—Ellen G. White, Testimonies for the Church, vol. 5, p. 133.

3. Materialism

Buying souls through materialism is the goal of Satan, and the superficial trappings appeal to every heart. Materialism cannot speak, but it knows every language. It knows how to provide pleasure and gratification to both the rich and the poor and cause them to say, “I have all that I need here; why worry about anything else?” Thus, mate­rialism corrupts the mind; it causes people to trust in what they own as opposed to trusting in God. However, the antidote is “ ‘not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty” (Zech. 4:6, NIV). Materialism cannot withstand the control of the Holy Spirit when we give ourselves over to God and determine by His grace not to let materialism rule our lives.

4. Fear of God

The Scripture declares that perfect love casts out fear. But our love is still imperfect, and fear hangs around.

There is one fear, however, that many of us do not have that we should have. It is the fear of God. Not only are we allowed to fear God, we are commanded to fear Him. A mark of reprobation is to have no fear of God before our eyes.

Martin Luther made an important distinction concerning the fear of God. He distinguished between servile fear and filial fear. He described servile fear as that kind of fear a prisoner has for his torturer. Filial fear is the fear of a son who loves his father and does not want to offend him or let him down. It is a fear born of respect. When the Bible calls us to fear God, it is issuing a call to a fear born of reverence, awe, and adoration. It is a respect of the highest magnitude.

Ask God to give you filial fear for Him, an attitude of reverence, awe, and adoration.

Proverbs 1:7: "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction."

Proverbs 10:27: "The fear of the Lord prolongs days, but the years of the wicked will be shortened."

Proverbs 16:6: "In mercy and truth atonement is provided for iniquity; and by the fear of the Lord one departs from evil.")

5. Give the trumpet a certain sound

The character of Christ Jesus, and the character of Satan can be clearly seen in the life and eyes of their followers. The Lamb of GOD - humility, self-sacrificing love, purity, patience, forgiveness, mercy and Truth; and that of the dragon - pride, self-exaltation, self-sufficiency, selfishness, anger, unforgiveness, violence, and lust.

Now is the time for all our strength and talents to be used for the LORD. Thousands around us, have yet to hear and see the Glad Tiding of Salvation through Christ. And it is for this purpose that you and I have been called; to give the trumpet a certain sound, to proclaim with faith the Word of GOD, and the Sovereign Reign of Christ Jesus over sin, over death, and over all the forces of darkness in this world. The third angel is ready to sound. “…here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus !” Rev. 14:12.

“Several have written to me, inquiring if the message of Justification (Righteousness) by faith is the third angel’s message, and I have answered, “It is the third angel’s message in verity !” Ev 190. The third angel’s message is the final warning to be given  out of love for a world in darkness and about to die in sin.

6. We cannot regenerate ourselves

7. Walking with God (https://www.absg.adventist.org/- First Qtr 2018, L12 Mar 117-23, 2018)

Enoch and Noah made it a habit to walk with God in an age when few remained faithful amid excess, materialism, and violence (Gen. 5:24, 6:9). They understood and accepted God’s grace, and were thus good stewards(faithful servants, managers) of the possessions and tasks entrusted to them.

Down through the ages, people have walked with God just as Enoch and Noah did. For instance, Daniel and his friends “realized that in order to stand as representatives of true religion amid the false religions of heathenism they must have clearness of intellect and must perfect a Christian character. And God Himself was their teacher. Constantly praying, conscientiously studying, keeping in touch with the Unseen, they walked with God as did Enoch.”—Ellen G. White, Prophets and Kings, p. 486.

“Walking with God” defines what a steward does, that is, living with God day by day on earth. A wise steward will make it a habit to walk with God amid a world of corruption, for only by this connection with God can we be protected from falling into the prevailing evils.

Being a faithful steward entails an all-encompassing life that begins with being in agreement with God (Amos 3:3). We must walk in Christ (Col. 2:6), walk in newness of life (Rom. 6:4), walk in love (Eph. 5:2), walk in wisdom (Col. 4:5), walk in truth (Ps. 86:11), walk in the light (1 John 1:7), walk in integrity (Prov. 19:1), walk in His law (Exod. 16:4), walk in good works (Eph. 2:10), and walk the straight path (Prov. 4:26).
