1.1 Discovery D11 Overview

1. Many recent scientific evidences are challenging the conventional wisdom that the age of Earth is billions of years old. It is disbelief in the Bible clearly say that the world was spoken into existence 6000 years ago. It is unbelief in the historical record of Jesus Christ incarnation, ministry, crucifixion and resurrection.

2. The scientific evidence briefly outlined range from statistical interpretation of the growth in human population, in astrophysics, in the Earth’s physical geography, and ending with the beginning of human history.

3. The epic scientific discovery of Dr Robert V. Gentry aided by his son, David, started in 1976 provided new knowledge on the rapid formation of coal from wood in the laboratory that leads to invalidating the radiometric dating of the earth’s crust that supported a several billion year age of the Earth according to the Evolutionary Theory. His work on the instantaneous creation of Granite all over the world harmonises with the Bible story in Genesis.

4. The Hydoplate Theory of Dr Walter Brown provides the key that unlocks many mysteries about the worldwide flood and all its effects  that is consistent with the biblical flood model. It explain how rapidly major mountains formed, the coal and oil deposits, rapid continental drift , ocean floor  having huge trenches and  hundreds of canyons  and volcanoes.  It explains the formation of the layered strata and most of the fossil record, the so called ice ages and major land canyons.

6. The age of Dinosaurs are determined by the age of the strata they are found, their fossils buried in mass graveyards, and their tracks in coal are a mute reminder of the futile attempts of these creatures to escape the rising waters of a worldwide flood.

7. Noah’s Flood caused the transition climate for the ice age. There was only one Ice age, not several  ice ages as postulated by evolutionists. Only the Bible explains by inference the one Ice age.

8. There has always been a bridge connecting science with Biblical Creation because we were blinded with the idea we could explain all of Earth history history with science using the  laws of physics of cause and effects that we now experience. We forgot that God’s infinite creative power is far above our limited understanding of the universe and the laws which govern it.  

2 Truth on Earth’s Young Age

The truth on the age of the world places at stake the credibility of the Book of Genesis which say it is 6,000 years old. Principally the credibility of Jesus and absolute truth is at stake because Jesus cited Genesis 25 times in the New Testament. In addition nearly every other book in the New Testament refers to Genesis (200 times).

But is it not your understanding that the world is billions of years old from your school textbooks on the theory of evolution and perpetuated by watching National Geographic documentaries on nature? 

Jesus said, ”If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?” (Jn 3:12) He also said “For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me. “But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words (that even talk of heavenly things)?” (Jn 5:46-47) If Genesis is not true then there is no reason for anyone to believe any other part of the Bible.

Science is based on knowledge derived from observation and study. The question that the Darwinian theory of evolution is scientific requires that the scientists can travel back in time to observe and study the creation of the world. But it is a fact that 55% of US natural scientists believe in the Darwinian evolution (Washington Times Aug. 31, 1998). Just because a bunch of scientists believe this does not make it true. History tells us that we had in the past wrongly believed the Sun revolved around Earth.

2.1 Scientific  Evidence

There are numerous scientific ways to show that the universe is not billions of years old.

2.1 Statistical Projection of Human Population

The most practical illustration is using statistical method to explain “Population Growth of Modern Humans,” published in Merill Earth Science 1993, p 503. It was 5 billion in 1985 and 1 billion in 1810.  It reached 7 billion in 2011 in accordance to statistical projection. Statisticians are able to figure out that at the birth of Christ in 4 B.C. the population was 0.25 Billion, and that although Adam and Eve was our progenitor 6000 years ago (4004 B.C.) our modern population began with 8 people  (Noah’s family) after the Great Flood in  2348 B.C. (4359 years ago). This is statistically valid that there is only 4359 years of population growth.

2.2 Evidence of Astrophysics

1) Astronomers have observed that about every 30 years a star “dies” and explodes into a super nova. (ICR  September, 1998). There are only about 300 Supernovas (or 300x30 = 9000). If the universe is billions of years old, how come there are less than 300 Supernovas (dead stars)? There should be several hundred million of them. Are the stars wrong, or the evolution theory? This goes to show that the universe is only thousands of years old not billions. 

2) Textbooks (Prentice Hall Earth Science, 1995) say Red Giant Stars evolve into white dwarf stars over billions of years. This is not true because Egyptian hieroglyphs from 2000 B.C. described Sirius as red as did Cicero in 50 B.C., and down to Ptolemy who listed Sirius as one of the six red stars in 150 A.D. Today it is a white star- binary - (It’s a Young World, Paul Ackerman). It did not take billion of years to happen, it only takes thousands. Jupiter is cooling off and therefore cannot be billions of years old. If it were billions of years old it would have cooled off by now.

3) The Moon is leaving earth by a couple of inches per year. The distance of the Moon from the Earth affects the wide by the Inverse Square Law. If the distance is 1/3, the force of attraction between two objects is 9 times greater. By regression the moon and the Earth would have been together just over 1 billion years ago.

4) Short period comets are losing material and have a life expectancy of less than 10,000 years. Why are they still here? If the universe is billions of years they should be gone by now.

5) Magnets decline with age and the Earth’s magnetic field has declined 10% in the last 150 years and 40% in the last 1000 years – “Astronomy and the Bible”, Donald DeYoung, p 19). Since it is weaker that means it used to be stronger and it cannot be more than 25,000 years old. The Earth’s magnetic field limits the earth to being less than 25,000 years old. This also means that Carbon dating cannot work more than a few thousand years old.

6) The Earth is spinning over 1000 mph at the Equator and the Earth is slowing down. It slows down about 1/1000 second every day. According to Astronomy Magazine, June 1992, p 24, "The Earth's Rotation is slowing down. To compensate for this lagging motion, June will be one second longer than normal. This 'Leap Second' announced by the International Earth Rotation Service in February, will keep calendar time in close alignment with international time." We need to have a leap second about every year to year and a half. It used to be going faster and is not a problem if the Earth is 6,000 years old, but at billions of years back, the Earth would have been spinning superfast and the winds would have been unbearable from the Coriolis effects.  (In Noah’s time the year was 360 days.)

2.3. Earth’s Physical Geography

1) The Sahara Desert has a prevailing wind pattern, which almost always blow the same direction. This causes the desert to grow a process called desertification. An in-depth study came to the conclusion that the Sahara Desert is about 4,000 years old (Portsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research in Germany July 15, 1999 Geophysical Research Letters).  If the Earth is billions of years old why the biggest desert started only 4000 years ago? The Bible says the Earth recovered from the worldwide flood about 4400 years ago and hence desertification can only occur later on.

2) Oil wells can have up to 20,000 psi and studies have shown that the rock can only hold that pressure for 1,000 years or less. Most scientists have agreed that oil and gas are from “organisms that once lived in the sea.. changed by heat and pressure.. into oil.” In 1971 scientists learn to make oil all in 20 minutes in the laboratory.  In 1996 a $22.4 million proposal was approved in Western Australia that will build a plant to create oil from sewage sludge in 30 minutes. The Bible tells us (indirectly) that in the worldwide flood about 4400 years ago, all the animals and people drowned (including trees)  and were buried by the gravel, rocks  sand and mud which eventually were compressed into oil.

3) Wood petrifies quickly and there are many petrified specimen as evidence.  Tree- ring dating is not an exact science. Trees often produce more than one ring each year. The oldest tree in the world is 4,300 years old and stands as testimony that this tree started its life after the flood.

4)  The Great Barrier Reef in Australia is the largest coral reef. Some of the reef was destroyed during WW II by warships. Afterwards some environmentalists studied the reef to see how fast it grows back. Their conclusion after twenty years is that the Great Barrier Reef is less than 4,200 years old.    

5) 30% of rain water runs into the ocean bringing with it mineral salts. The oceans are getting saltier every day and sea water is presently 3.6% salt accumulated in less than 5000 years. 

6) The formation of stalagmites and stalactites in caves are touted as taking millions of years to form. The formation in New Mexico, geologists say, started 250 million years ago.  Some say that the growth rate is 2.5 inches per thousand years. Yet there are stalactites growing under the Lincoln Memorial built in 1922 and there are many more such formations under 60 years old.

7) At current rate of erosion, the continents would erode flat in 14 million years. Erosion features show that there was much greater erosion in the past probably from Noah’s flood, when the whole world was destroyed. Grand Canyon textbooks say over millions of years, the Colorado River has carved out the Grand Canyon from solid rock. There are two interpretations. Evolutionists say it formed slowly by a little water and lots of time. Bible believing Christians interpretation is that it formed quickly by lots of water and a little time from the flood in the days of Noah. Evolutionists are always trying to erase the line and make students think their interpretation is part of the fact. One textbook says “The Colorado River  .. has been cut through layer upon layer of rock over millions of years.”-  Prentice Hall Biology 1998, p 279.

2.4 Human History

On the origins of major writing systems National Geographic  says “The oldest writing system started about 3000 B.C, “the first developed system of word writing appeared only about 5000 years ago.” .  “The oldest language reasonably constructed is already  a modern sophisticated complete from an evolutionary point of view.”  The biological Nature of Man, G.C. Simpson Science, Vol 152, April 22, 1966, p 477

The year 2000 was 4,700 on the Chinese Lunar Calendar. It maybe the Chinese civilisation started with the birth of Shem or Noah before the flood.

The oldest recorded example of capital punishment is from the 18th century BC or 3800 years ago.

The Saxons in England had a genealogy going back to Adam. The Danes and Norwegians lists go back to Noah. 

Even the oldest historical record is less than 6000 years old.  Is God’s word true or is man’s opinion? 3 Formation of Granite, Oil and Coal

The main focus in this document is the research work of Dr Robert V. Gentry on the formation of granite, the foundation rocks of the continents.  It was the theory held for decades by scientists that the Earth was formed by slowing cooling of molten mass over 4.5 billion years to make granite.

Evidence in the granites themselves showed they formed rapidly instead of by slow cooling. Sedimentary rocks were deposited quickly instead of slowly. Canyon itself was carved over a short time by erosional processes. Coal and oil can form rapidly and did so recently. Dinosaurs existed just a few thousand years ago. Natural laws cannot explain everything in history based on the evolutionary framework and calls for another model of earth’s history that geological rate of change in the past were much greater than those observed today. In this scenario it would take much less time for various geological events to occur. We would then have all the ingredients to conclude that the Earth is quite young.

3.1 The Work of Dr R.V. Gentry

Scientist, Dr Robert Gentry, while working at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee has discovered and published evidence which challenged the long time period of Earth’s history. In 1977, the Research Communications Network published a special breakthrough report of Dr Gentry’s scientific publications, characterising their implications as follows:

” Current physical laws may not have governed the past. Earth’s primordial crustal rocks, rather than cool and solidifying over millions of years crystallised almost instantaneously. Some geological formations thought to be 100 million years old are in reality only several thousand years old. Granted these propositions any researcher will tell you the entire structure of historical natural science would dissolve into formlessness.  Few certainties would remain. Yet these very possibilities (and other equally challenging) have been suggested in a remarkable series of papers published over the past several years in the world’s foremost scientific journals- Nature, Science and Annual Review of Nuclear Science. Among others.” (From Research Communications Network, “Breakthrough Report,“ 1977.)

3.1.1 Coalified Wood

Part of his work is on coalified wood from the Colorado Plateau. He analysed the specimens of coalified wood for various types of radioactivity. His results provide the answer to the age in coal formation and even the age of the Earth itself. Given the right condition of pressure, temperature, water and time, wood and other vegetation will turn to coal. The time for this to happen is discovered by Dr Gentry based on the discoloration produced by radioactive particles ejected from tiny centres. These circular and elliptical halos required a special sequence of events to form, so special in fact that they completely overthrow the idea of an ancient age of cooling, pointing to coals recent geological formation. This is clearly explained in the documentary. The time of uranium infiltration in the wood can be found based on uranium decay measurements. His report in Science, 15 October, 1976, on the coal from the Utah mine stated, “Such extraordinary values (referring to these lead-uranium ratios) admit the possibility that both the initial uranium infiltration and coalification could possibly have occurred in the past several thousand years.” In other words, coal could form very rapidly geologically. It contradicted the conventional explanation that it took 140 millions of years to form coal. Professor Raphael Kazman, Louisiana University commented on January 27, 1977 in his letter ,” Your letter will not trouble the engineers.. but the impact on the science of geology in possibly changing the accepted views as to the geologic time will be felt for many years.” The  symposium he organised subsequently in 1978 acknowledged that “if isotope ratios are to be used as a basis for geologic dating then presently accepted may be too high  by a factor of 10,000, admitting the possibility that the ages of formation are to be measured in millennia “ – Geotimes, September, 1978. This information has remained unchallenged and unrefuted in the open science literature since it was published. This result debunked the old geologic age theory of earth and instead supports the simultaneous burial of all these formations about several thousand years ago, not billions.

3.1.1.1 Nature’s Testimony

In Catherine Hill Bay, Australia there is an ancient fossilised tree extending through over 12 feet of sedimentary layers between two coal seams   which geologists have theorised to have taken hundreds of thousands of years to accumulate. But the tree is a mute testimony to its catastrophic burial by at least two sequences of volcanic ash deposits to corroborate Dr Gentry’s scientific discovery.

The Powder River Basin in Wyoming and Montana contains coal layers or seams with thickness ranging up to 200 feet was considered a geologic and environmental enigma in 1993. Geologists could not figure out the things on Earth to remain constant enough so that the coal of 200 feet can be formed.  The answer was provided in the laboratory by Robert and David Gentry on the process of coal formation from wood inserted in a steel pipe sealed with some water and placed in an oven at 160o C for two weeks.

3.1.1.2 Synthetic Coal Production   

Scientists at Argonne National University have answered this question in a series of experiments performed in 1980’s. One of the earliest reports about their work appeared in the magazine, “ Chemical and Engineering News” November 21, 1983 issue, p 42.  “Chemists in Argonne National University have succeeded in making a type of artificial coal from naturally occurring materials. The process is much less severe than formerly thought to be necessary and provides some new insights in the coal structure and how to alter it.” By 1985 they were able to produce artificial coal indistinguishable from the real thing.  The lignin in the wood with clay at 1500C without oxygen formed coal in 8 months subjected to the right pressure.

3.1.2 Oil Formation

In addition, the next discovery from Exxon was that water acted as an essential part in the formation of oil from the rapid transformation of organic matter.  Efforts to synthesise oil met with failure until very hot water was added to the reactor vessel containing the source rock sample.  When this was done a layer of oil was formed on top of the water.

There is evidence of present day oil formation in the Guaymas Basin in the Gulf of California, where below 6000 feet of water, is an accumulation of organic sediments derived from marine algae and other organic sources. Below this, super-heated water is being pushed by a deep heat source, through these sediments. Oil is being formed in the interaction of organic sediments with superheated water. This hydrothermal oil is virtually indistinguishable from crude oil obtained from wells drilled in the Earth. The implication of this discovery is the possibility that the genesis of the reservoir crude oils abundant throughout the world may be explained by hydrothermal processes similar to what is happening in the Guaymas. It is conceivable that the worldwide flood was instrumental in the production of the tremendous oil reserves of the Middle East and elsewhere. The vast amounts of vegetation buried by such a flood mixed with superheated water could produce oil in the volumes we see today. Depending on the burial conditions, the organic matters would be transformed to either coal or oil.

3.1.2.1 The Bible Record

Based on the record of Earth’s history given in Genesis where it describes Earth being spoken into existence about 6000 years ago and covered with lush vegetation and then devastated by a worldwide flood about 1700 years later.  This timescale certainly fits with all the scientific discoveries made by Robert Gentry.  The fact that in 1927, Noell Odell discovered marine shelly fossils near the very top of Mount Everest attest that water covered the whole Earth.

Coal and oil are the result of burial of lush vegetation by a worldwide flood. The Bible speaks of the fountains of the great deep breaking (Gen 7:21) – a strong reference to volcanic eruptions in the pre-flood ocean basins.  This is significant because ocean survey researchers recently found an area on the Pacific Ocean floor thickly concentrated with 1000 volcanoes. The size of this area is approximately the same as Washington State. Additional floor surveys may well yield many more such discoveries.  

Consider the effects of volcanic eruption in modern time.  On May 18, 1980, Mt St. Helens exploded with the equivalent to 20 million tons of TNT causing a giant landslide that levelled over 150 square miles of forest. The landslide caused the lake water to spill over the adjacent mountain side over 800 feet above its pre-eruption water level. An average thickness of 300 feet of new sediment dumped into the lake, has caused its surface level to rise almost 250 feet higher than before the eruption. A massive amount of trees were washed into Spirit Lake by the giant water wave. The power of catastrophically driven water to accumulate and bury extensive amounts of vegetation can easily be seen here. The floating log mat on Spirit Lake is only about half its original size because the rest have sunk to the bottom. If St Helena had erupted under water, huge water tidal waves hundreds of times larger than the Spirit Lake water wave would have caused the erupted material to be carried over much of the Earth before settling. If thousands of these volcanoes were active we can begin to imagine the destructive effects a worldwide flood would have had on the topography of the Earth’s surface such as the Grand Canyon . The geology of this canyon fits a model based on the occurrence of a worldwide flood.

3.1.2.2 Prophetic understanding on Flood’s Aftermath

“The entire surface of the earth was changed at the Flood. A third dreadful curse rested upon it in consequence of sin. As the water began to subside, the hills and mountains were surrounded by a vast, turbid sea, Everywhere were strewn the dead bodies of men and beasts. The Lord would not permit these to remain to decompose and pollute the air, therefore He made of the earth a vast burial ground. A violent wind which was caused to blow for the purpose of drying up the waters, moved them with great force, in some instances even carrying away the tops of the mountains and heaping up trees, rocks, and earth above the bodies of the dead. By the same means the silver and gold, the choice wood and precious stones, which had enriched and adorned the world before the Flood, and which the inhabitants had idolized, were concealed from the sight and search of men, the violent action of the waters piling earth and rocks upon these treasures, and in some cases even forming mountains above them. God saw that the more He enriched and prospered sinful men, the more they would corrupt their ways before Him. The treasures that should have led them to glorify the bountiful Giver had been worshiped, while God had been dishonored and despised.  {PP 107.4} 

The earth presented an appearance of confusion and desolation impossible to describe. The mountains, once so beautiful in their perfect symmetry, had become broken and irregular. Stones, ledges, and ragged rocks were now scattered upon the surface of the earth. In many places hills and mountains had disappeared, leaving no trace where they once stood; and plains had given place to mountain ranges. These changes were more marked in some places than in others. Where once had been earth's richest treasures of gold, silver, and precious stones, were seen the heaviest marks of the curse. And upon countries that were not inhabited, and those where there had been the least crime, the curse rested more lightly.  {PP 108.1}

3.1.2.2.1 Formation of Coal

At this time immense forests were buried. These have since been changed to coal, forming the extensive coal beds that now exist, and also yielding large quantities of oil. The coal and oil frequently ignite and burn beneath the surface of the earth. Thus rocks are heated, limestone is burned, and iron ore melted. The action of the water upon the lime adds fury to the intense heat, and causes earthquakes, volcanoes, and fiery issues. As the fire and water come in contact with ledges of rock and ore, there are heavy explosions underground, which sound like muffled thunder. The air is hot and suffocating. Volcanic eruptions follow; and these often failing to give sufficient vent to the heated elements; the earth itself is convulsed, the ground heaves and swells like the waves of the sea, great fissures appear, and sometimes cities, villages, and burning mountains are swallowed up. These wonderful manifestations will be more and more frequent and terrible just before the second coming of Christ and the end of the world, as signs of its speedy destruction.  {PP 108.2} 

3.1.2.2.2 Weapons of Judgment

The depths of the earth are the Lord's arsenal, whence were drawn weapons to be employed in the destruction of the old world. Waters gushing from the earth united with the waters from heaven to accomplish the work of desolation. Since the Flood, fire as well as water has been God's agent to destroy very wicked cities. (Heed the prophecy in 2 Peter 3:7,12) These judgments are sent that those who lightly regard God's law and trample upon His authority may be led to tremble before His power and to confess His just sovereignty. As men have beheld burning mountains pouring forth fire and flames and torrents of melted ore, drying up rivers, overwhelming populous cities, and everywhere spreading ruin and desolation, the stoutest heart has been filled with terror and infidels and blasphemers have been constrained to acknowledge the infinite power of God.  {PP 109.1} 

Said the prophets of old, referring to scenes like these: "Oh that Thou wouldest rend the heavens, that Thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow down at Thy presence, as when the melting fire burneth, the fire causeth the waters to boil, to make Thy name known to Thine adversaries, that the nations may tremble at Thy presence! When Thou didst terrible things which we looked not for, Thou camest down, the mountains flowed down at Thy presence." Isaiah 64:1-3. "The Lord hath His way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of His feet. He rebuketh the sea, and maketh it dry, and drieth up all the rivers." Nahum 1:3, 4.  {PP 109.2}

More terrible manifestations than the world has ever yet beheld, will be witnessed at the second advent of Christ. "The mountains quake at Him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at His presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein. Who can stand before His indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of His anger?" Nahum 1:5, 6. "Bow Thy heavens, O Lord, and come down: touch the mountains, and they shall smoke. Cast forth lightning, and scatter them: shoot out Thine arrows, and destroy them." Psalm 144:5, 6.  {PP 109.3}

"I will show wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke." Acts 2:19. "And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great." "And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found. And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent." Revelation 16:18, 20, 21.  {PP 110.1}

As lightnings from heaven unite with the fire in the earth, the mountains will burn like a furnace, and will pour forth terrific streams of lava, overwhelming gardens and fields, villages and cities. Seething molten masses thrown into the rivers will cause the waters to boil, sending forth massive rocks with indescribable violence and scattering their broken fragments upon the land. Rivers will be dried up. The earth will be convulsed; everywhere there will be dreadful earthquakes and eruptions.  {PP 110.2} 

Thus God will destroy the wicked from off the earth. But the righteous will be preserved in the midst of these commotions, as Noah was preserved in the ark. God will be their refuge, and under His wings shall they trust. Says the psalmist: "Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the Most High, thy habitation; there shall no evil befall thee." Psalm 91:9, 10. "In the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion: in the secret of His tabernacle shall He hide me." Psalm 27:5. God's promise is, "Because he hath set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known My name." Psalm 91:14.  {PP 110.3}”

3.1.3 The Grand Canyon

Aerial and ground based footage of the Grand Canyon illustrate features which question whether the Colorado River carved the canyon over millions of years. Dr Walter Brown discusses his Hydroplate Theory which is consistent with the biblical flood model. The Grand Canyon is one of 17 strange geologic features as a result of a cataclysmic flood, whose waters erupted from subterranean chambers with an energy release of 10 billion hydrogen bombs. It explain how rapidly major mountains formed, the coal and oil deposits, rapid continental drift , ocean floor  having huge trenches and  hundreds of canyons  and volcanoes.  It explains the formation of the layered strata and most of the fossil record, the so called ice ages and major land canyons.

3.1.3.1 The Hydroplate Theory

The pre-flood Earth probably had one very large supercontinent containing lush vegetation, seas, rivers and minor mountains. According to the Hydroplate Theory, the pre-flood Earth had a lot of subterranean water, about half of what is now in our oceans. This water was in interconnected chambers forming a thin spherical shell about half a mile thick, perhaps ten miles below the Earth’s surface. Increasing pressure from the subterranean water chamber stretched the overlying crust just as a balloon stretches when the pressure increases. Failure in the crust began with a microscopic crack which grew in both directions at about 3 mps. The crack following the path of least resistance encircled the globe in about 2 hours. As the crack raced around the Earth, the overlying crust opened up like a rib in a tightly stretched cloth. The subterranean water was under extreme pressure, because of the weight of the ten miles of rock pressing down upon it. So the water exploded violently out of the eruption. Calculations show that all along this globe encircling crack fountains of water jetted supersonically over 20 miles into the atmosphere. The enormous spray produced torrential rains such as the Earth had never experienced before or after. The Bible story in Genesis 7 states that all the fountains of the great deep open on one day  (Gen 7:21). It describes these events about 4400 years ago which we can now tie together scientifically in the Hydroplate Theory. 

The fountains of the great deep and the expanding steam produced violent winds, some of the water jetting above the cold atmosphere froze into super-cooled ice crystals and produced massive ice dumps, burying, suffocating and instantly freezing many animals. The high pressure water eroded the rock on both sides of the crack, and even threw up the limy contents of pre-flood sea. Huge volumes of sediments settled out of this muddy water all over the Earth. These sediments trapped and buried plants and animals, forming the fossil record. The flooding uprooted vegetation, moving it to regions where it accumulated and quickly coal and oil formed by process we can duplicate in the laboratory today….

 Scenes from the visitor centre at Dinosaur National Monument are explained in a startling new way. An explanation of cavitation includes footage from the Glen Canyon Dam where the power of catastrophically driven water is demonstrated in the spillway tunnels at the dam.

Fossil Butte National Monument is also visited where inconsistencies between accepted theory and fossil evidence abound. The mass burial and deposition of millions of fish demands a theory of catastrophism similar to that required in the Grand Canyon. Dinosaur tracks in the coal mines of Eastern Utah near Price are documented and related to the age of the coal which they are found in. The published evidence from the deep drill holes in New Mexico show helium retention which is impossible to explain except by a young Earth paradigm. A synopsis of the polonium halos as evidence for a rapid crystallization of granite is given explaining the difficulties they pose to the view of an anciently evolving planet from a hot melt.

3.1.3.2 The Age of Dinosaurs

Science May 19, 1995 showed a bee  enclosed in amber. It is similar to the bee in the specimen of Dominican amber. Geologists think both specimens are around 25 to 40 million years old.  They have now extracted from the abdomen of the bee, live bacteria. These results support earlier findings of over 1000 types of bacteria from other insects some that date with the dinosaurs.  The reason the bacteria was found in this fossilised bee in the Dominican amber and in other fossils of the same age as the dinosaurs is because they were all of the same age as the dinosaurs. This is the result of being encased and buried about the time of the worldwide flood only several thousand years ago. All these also agreed with the evidence of the young age of oil and coal. It is consistent with the supernatural events of Creation week only about 6000 years ago.

Dinosaurs with their fossils buried in mass graveyards, and their tracks in coal are a mute reminder of the futile attempts of these creatures to escape the rising waters of a worldwide flood. 

3.1.4 The Granite Rocks (59:45)

From radiometric dating, granite, the Earth’s basement rocks, geologists  theorised  was formed repeatedly at different places and times over billions of evolutionary time and this also meant the age  of the fossils embedded in the rocks. Now Robert Gentry refutes this conventional understanding. The ancient radiometric that scientists have accepted for ages have never been scientific facts. Factual scientific information is derived from laboratory experiments. Radiometric age dating is really just an arithmetical calculation. It is based on a constant which is not so. And radiometric age is a fiction.

Evolution assumes cooling over billions of years. The time of cooling or presumed age is obtained by measuring the present radioactive decay products in the granite and assuming they accumulated only by slow constant radioactive decay. Because evolution equates radioactive age to active decay with the time of cooling any evidence showing granite formed rapidly essentially shows their simultaneous creation, thus the premise of constant radioactive decay and the inference of great age is invalidated. 

There is indeed scientific evidence for their simultaneous creation. Etched within the granites are beautiful microspheres of coloration produced by the decay of a certain radioactive element known to have only a fleeting existence. Using a simple analogy, alka-seltzer bubbles in water can be retained only by rapid freezing. Similarly, the microscopic record of fleeting radioactive decay in the granites is there only because these rocks were instantly created in solid form. If these rocks have been formed by slow cooling as evolution claims, the radioactive traces would have disappeared in the melt without leaving any visible record. This record of instantaneous creation is found in granites worldwide. Moreover, its existence in granites of vastly different radiometric ages shows they were all created at the same time, in a matter of minutes. This collapses the whole foundation of geologic time.

3.1.4.1 Instantaneous Creation

According to Robert Gentry, at the time of the flood, there was a vast change, an increase in the radiometric decay rate. Radioactivity cannot be used for age decay until after the end of the decay rate change. Any effort to use radioactivity for age dating prior to that time is certainly to end with an erroneous result. Other evidence relating to the decay rate change and a young age of the Earth comes from his studies of Granite cores taken from a deep drill hole in New Mexico (1970’s), drilled to 14,000 feet to extract energy from the Earth. Samples were taken from 3148 feet down to over 14,000 feet to extract tiny microscopic zircons, uranium bearing minerals from the granites. The results of these investigations were published in “Geophysical Research  Letters” in 1982.

The temperature ranged from 1050C at 3148 feet to 3130C at 14131 feet.  The ones at the greatest depth, the hottest one will lose helium from the zircon far more rapidly. After a period of time has elapsed, the zircon nearest the surface is expected to still have a greater amount of helium in it. As expected there were only helium in the three shallower depths which should indicate the time at which the granite have been in existence at that particular temperature. The actual physical experiment al results are only meaningful as we make a comparison between what we expect to find if indeed the Earth was 4.5 billion years old.  The excess helium in deep granites provides concrete evidence the Earth’s crustal rocks are young thus powerfully disproving the whole concept of an ancient evolving Earth.

3.2 The Ice Age After the Flood

The Ice Age is a mystery of the present processes over millions of years  evolutionary model. Noah’s Flood caused the transition climate for the ice age. The Ice age lasted about 700 years (according to Michael Oard in his presentation); not 100,000 years.  There was only one Ice age, not several  ice ages as postulated by evolutionists. Only the Bible explains by inference the one Ice age.  

“The Next ice age is due soon!” is an article by Daniel Grossman, New York Times, 22 July, 2003, p2.D2  expressing: “If the past is any indication, the earth is at the end of another such warm period poised to descend into a new ice age.” However he assures the audience of the Rainbow promise  where God said there will never be another flood that caused the Ice Age.

4 Conclusion

This is only a brief glimpse of the various lines of scientific evidence that point to the truth and accuracy of the Biblical record of Earth’s recent creation and the great flood. The conclusion has been sure and certain.

The Young Age of the Earth is a short documentary which explains how a created, young Earth, is compatible with a myriad of field evidences and the Genesis record of creation in six literal days. Dr Robert V. Gentry and his son, David, present young earth evidences supporting rapid coal formation from polonium halos in coalified wood and giving an explanation on the astonishingly pure giant coal beds of the Powder River Basin. These coal beds, sometimes hundreds of feet thick are better explained by a rapid deposition and burial of billions of tons of vegetation by a massive flood mechanism. The vast difference in helium found confirmed that the crustal rocks could not be 4.5 billion years old. All the granites from all over the world were the product of a simultaneous creation.  There is no proof that the Earth is 6000 years old, but Robert has found evidence that it is consistent with a 6000 year age of the Earth. It was also shown that a several billion year age of the Earth is scientifically incorrect. It collapses the whole structure of evolutionary time.

There has always been a bridge connecting science with Biblical Creation because we were blinded with the idea we could explain all of Earth history by the natural laws that we now experience. We forgot that God’s infinite creative power is far above our limited understanding of the universe and the laws which govern it. Things that fitted into evolution were emphasised (grounded in education), so much so that it seemed natural law (science) really did explain everything. The hard things that could not be explained were put on the back burner. We tended to forget them, thinking that they would someday be solved. But many of those things were impossible to explain within the framework of Evolution. The evidence provided in this documentary presentation has given us reason to rethink our beliefs about origins based on valid scientific data.  The belief system that fits  all the scientific fact presented is the record of Creation given in Genesis and repeated by Moses in Exodus 20: 11 “For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.”

The final reminder is to trust explicitly God’s word and in the words of the messenger that God has given to us in the end time of Earth’s history. Sister Ellen G. White talked about the aftermath of the Great Flood some 90 years before the discovery presented in this documentary. Therefore we need to heed her warning about the scenario of Christ second coming and to seek the Lord in earnest so that you might find Christ as your Creator and Redeemer and be ready for His soon coming to eliminate Satan and his evil agents.
